What gives skyrim vampirism. Skyrim. How to cure vampirism or all about vampirism in Skyrim. Drink liquid from the red spring

All novice Skyrim players at the beginning will need to choose which side to play on - on the dark or on the light. If you choose the dark side, then the highest incarnation of "allies on the side" for you will be the vampire lord. And you have to strive for it.

Where to start your journey to the vampire clan

So, you started by choosing the dark side. Then you will need to reach at least the tenth level, after which you have a chance to become an ordinary vampire. It all starts with the fact that as you play, you will have to complete certain quests, as a result of which your acquaintance with Serana, a vampire girl, will take place. When you meet her, then know that very soon you will have to make your decisive and very important choice.

On your path that leads to the vampire clan, you will encounter a quest that begins with Serana asking you to guide her home. This difficult road will lead your player character to a fortress called Valkihar. Remember: this fortress is a lair where vampires live. And that's where you will face a choice: do you want to become a vampire, or is it unacceptable for you to turn into him.

How to become a vampire

In order to become a vampire in Skyrim, you will need to fulfill several conditions. You have already visited the location of the vampires, and now you need to provoke any vampire so that he casts a spell against you that draws out life. After three in-game days (or 72 hours), you will completely transform into a vampire. But during these three days, your character will begin to demonstrate that he is sick.

You can turn everyone into a vampire, except for a werewolf, since the game has a special disease for the latter - lycanthropy, an analogue of vampirism. As a result of this disease, the character also undergoes transformations, only he transforms not into a vampire, but into a werewolf. And know that if you already have lycanthropy, then in order to become a vampire, you will have to completely recover from it.

How to become a vampire lord

You have the option to decline the offer, but as a member of the dark side, you probably aspire to become a famous vampire lord. If so, then accept the offer without hesitation. Now you are a vampire, and you again have to complete various quests. After completing the initial tasks, your character will gradually transform into a vampire lord.

How to make a transformation in Skyrim

In order to transform into a vampire lord, you need to perform some actions. Press the Tab button, then go to Magic and look for the Vampire Lord spell there. When you find it, press the Z button. You can return to your normal form. To do this, press the Q button and then select Revert Form. After that, press the Z button again.

It opens up a million different possibilities for Dovakin. Here you can get married, become the ruler of a city, take part in a civil war, fight with, get into other worlds, and also become a werewolf or a vampire! I will talk about Lycanthropy (the ability to take the form of a beast) in another article, so let's talk about bloodsuckers. And in this guide, we will analyze how to become a vampire and how to recover from vampirism, find out the pros and cons of this condition and how it affects the world. You may not have known, but there is a whole big expansion about vampires called The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard. Let's get started!

How to become a vampire in Skyrim

Tired of playing as one of the “standard” races in the game? Do you want to complicate your task, get more thrills? Get powerful skills and abilities and start drinking blood? Then why not become a vampire! This process will take some time, but at the end of the reincarnation, your appearance will completely change, new talents, passive skills will appear, and previously peaceful NPCs will begin to fear you.

Important! Before becoming a vampire, I advise you to make a separate save. Yes, vampires are much more powerful than the sentient races of Tamriel, but they also have a lot of disadvantages that will make your game more difficult. You can recover from vampirism, but this is a long and complicated process, so it’s better to make a separate save so that if something happens, you can “roll back” to it.

There are several ways in the game how you can become a vampire. Both “legal” and with the help of . I want to warn you right away that catching vampirism is much easier than curing it, so be careful.

Face another vampire in combat

If you do not take into account the addition of Dawnguard, then aggressive bloodsuckers can be met during the wanderings. Vampires can be found in locations such as Movarth's Lair, the Bloody Throne, Haymar's Cave, Fellglow Hold, and Brokentooth Cave. The easiest place is Movart's Lair, which is located near Morthal. Here you will find low-level opponents, so it will be easier to pick up vampirism. To get to the right place, it is enough to get to Morthal by wagon (or using fast travel) and walk to the northeast.

Vampires will not meet you right away, first you will need to deal with frosty spiders and robbers at the entrance. Kill opponents and move inside the cave, collecting delicious loot along the way. At the end of the dungeon, you will see a large room with a dining table where two bloodsuckers are sitting.

They are exactly what we need! Make a save, prepare more potions of healing, food and spells of the restoration school. Now draw their attention to you and get ready to be treated. You need the vampires to use the Drain Life spell on you. During the casting of the spell, Dovahkiin has a chance to catch the Sanguinare Vampiris disease, which will turn you into a vampire.

When you notice a notification that the disease has appeared, you can safely kill opponents. Information about the disease can be found in the “Magic” menu in passive skills. You have 72 more in-game hours to change your mind and heal from vampirism. To do this, you need to visit the altar of the Nine or drink a potion of healing diseases.

If you didn't get this disease, then move away from the vampires, restore health and try again until you succeed. You can repeat as many times as you like.

After 72 hours have elapsed, the character becomes a “phase one” vampire and immediately gains a number of passive skills:

  • Weakness in the sun- while under the sun, your maximum magicka, health and stamina will decrease, and the regeneration rate will decrease by 100%. In addition, there will be visual changes - the skin will begin to char.
  • disease resistance- Vampires are very tenacious, so now you can not be afraid to catch some kind of infection. Dragonborn gains 100% disease resistance.
  • Poison Resistance- 100% resistance to all poisons and poisonings.
  • Night Predator Footsteps- When you're sneaking, you're 25% harder to spot.
  • Herald of the night- Your Illusion spells are now 25% more effective.

These effects apply to all stages of vampires, which we will learn about later.

Use the in-game console

Attention! This method is only available on PC. On game consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, etc.) cheat codes are not available, if you play on one of the above platforms, you can immediately skip this item.

If you don't want to look for vampires, or if you can't catch the right disease, you may have encountered a bug. In this case, the vampirism cheat code will help you. How to use it?

  • Press Yo (~) on your keyboard to open the console menu. All actions in the game are currently paused.
  • Switch the language to English (more details can be found in).
  • Enter the command player.setrace Xracevampire, in which X should be replaced with the race of your hero. The race must be indicated in English. If you are playing as a nord, the command will look like this: player.setrace nordracevampire. And if you're playing as a Khajiit, then player.setrace is khajitracevampire.
  • Press Enter.

Immediately after that, you will become a vampire of the first stage. You will have all the basic abilities, the active skill “Vampiric Vision” and all the above passive talents.

Drink liquid from the red spring

For the third method, you will definitely need The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard add-on. And in it you can become not just a vampire, but a vampire lord! In addition to the usual abilities, Dovakin will also receive a unique vampire skill tree, the ability to change shape, and much more.

To become a vampire in the add-on, you need to complete several story quests, get to the Redwater Lair and drink a strange liquid from the Red Spring. In the course of the passage you will be Serana - a young Nordic vampire girl, whom you can even marry after. Having the add-on and becoming a Vampire Lord will give you many benefits not found in the original game:

  • Cold resistance and fire vulnerability passives have been changed to +20% / +30% / +40% / +50%.
  • The Vampiric Seduction ability will now allow you to bite not only sleeping, but also awake victims.
  • At the last stage of vampirism, the phrases of the NPCs will change. Now you will often hear comments like “Your skin is as white as snow, are you afraid of the sun or what?” or “I don't like your eyes. Some kind of strange cold in them. But no one will attack you, which will make life much easier. You will be able to move freely around the cities and feed on blood even during the day. But in the transformed form it is better not to appear before the peasants. They won't understand.
  • The appearance will also change. All women and Nord men had bright red eyes, while the rest of the races had golden eyes. Scars appeared near the mouth, and the faces themselves became more frightening.

stages of vampirism. Pros and cons of being a vampire

As mentioned above, Dovakin will not immediately become a full-fledged vampire. After getting the disease "Sanguinare vampirus" and waiting 72 in-game hours, you will become a first stage vampire. How is the first stage different from the next and what abilities will you get? Now we will analyze this.

The first stage of vampirism

So, you have embarked on the path of a vampire. The townspeople are no longer afraid of you, but you no longer love the sun. In addition to the passive skills listed above (resistance to poisons, diseases, Illusion spell amplification, etc.), you will also receive permanent effects:

  • Cold resistance- cold damage taken reduced by 20%
  • Weakness to fire- Fire damage taken increased by 20%.
  • Weakness in the sun- Health, magicka and stamina reduced by 15.

In addition to permanent effects, the Dragonborn will also have a number of new active skills:

  • Servant of the Vampire - the ability to raise a weak corpse from the dead for 60 seconds. The summoned servant will fight by your side. You can use it 1 time per day.
  • Siphoning life is the very ability through which you fell ill. The spell allows you to drain 2 points of life per second from the selected target. This magic belongs to the school of "Destruction", level "Beginner".
  • Vampire Gaze - The ability to see in the dark. The spell lasts 60 seconds, you can use it once a day.

Second stage of vampirism

Permanent effects remain the same, but their rates increase significantly:

  • Cold resistance- cold damage taken reduced by 30%
  • Weakness to fire- Fire damage taken increased by 30%.
  • Weakness in the sun- health, magicka and stamina reduced by 30 (twice!).

Active abilities have become even stronger, and a new and very important skill has been added:

  • Servant of the Vampire- the ability to raise a stronger corpse from the dead for 60 seconds. The summoned servant will fight by your side. You can use it 1 time per day.
  • Life Siphon- The spell allows you to draw 3 units of life per second from the selected target. Such an increase, to be honest. But it will get better. Spells remain the same for Beginners.
  • seduction- the spell calms the representatives of intelligent races and a creature up to level 10. Action time 30 seconds. A very useful spell that will help you out many times.

The third stage of vampirism

The permanent effects remain the same, but the percentage continues to increase:

  • Cold resistance- cold damage taken reduced by 40%
  • Weakness to fire- Fire damage taken increased by 40%.
  • Weakness in the sun- health, magicka and stamina reduced by 45 units.

Similarly with active effects:

  • Servant of the Vampire- the ability to raise a strong corpse from the dead for 60 seconds. The summoned servant will fight by your side. You can use it 1 time per day. Now it makes sense to use this spell. Personally, this servant rescued me many times.
  • Life Siphon- The spell allows you to draw 4 units of life per second from the selected target. Compared to the first level, the “damage” of the spell has already doubled. At the fourth level of vampirism, it will be even better!

The fourth and final stage of vampirism

Unfortunately, the last stage of vampirism will not please us with new passive skills:

  • Cold resistance- cold damage taken reduced by 50%
  • Weakness to fire- Fire damage taken increased by 50%.
  • Weakness in the sun- health, magicka and stamina reduced by 60 units. With a debuff like that, it's better not to go out during the day at all, brr.

And here is a new active skill, and what a new one! Perfect for thieves, lovers of hacking and pickpocketing, and will also save you from any trouble:

  • Servant of the Vampire- the ability to raise a very strong corpse from the dead for 60 seconds. The summoned servant will fight by your side. You can use it 1 time per day. Now you will be the storm of all giants, bears and frosty spiders!
  • Life Siphon- The spell allows you to draw 5 units of life per second from the selected target. Still not a fan of this spell, but with this amount of damage, it can already be useful against enemies that are easy to keep at a distance.
  • Embrace the shadows- the ability to become invisible and turn on night vision for 3 minutes. Used only 1 time per day. A very useful spell that will help you out of any situation.

So you have reached the maximum stage of vampirism. Unfortunately, in addition to useful passive effects and powerful spells, you will also experience some disadvantages of this position.

All characters and NPCs will be hostile towards you, as now you are a full-fledged vampire with the appropriate appearance. You will be attacked by ALL characters in the game. This can be corrected with a little blood. Quenching your thirst will lower your lifesteal level to 1 (all effects and spells will also change). You can drink blood only in stealth mode. If you do not have the add-on installed, then only for sleeping characters. And if installed, then the mechanics are the same as with pocket guards. Sneak up in stealth mode and press the corresponding button.

How to cure vampirism

Dovakin can regain his former appearance even at the last stage of turning into a vampire. What is needed for that?

  • Complete Falion's quest "Rise at Dawn". The quest can only be completed once per game, so don't just waste it.
  • Complete the Companions questline and become a werewolf. Vampirism will be "overwritten" by the new disease. You will no longer be a vampire, but you will become a lycanthrope.
  • Use console command player.removespell 000B8780. This command will completely remove vampirism from Dovakin.

Vampirism has many pros and cons. Think carefully before choosing the fate of the bloodsucker. See you in the next guide!

How not to become a vampire in Skyrim?

The cult role-playing game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim provides the player with a wide scope for creating his own unique character. A special dark paraphernalia can be given to him by the disease "Sangvinare Vampiris" or, simply put, vampirism. Turning into a vampire brings both positive and negative changes for the character, but it is often unprofitable for the player to become a bloodsucker. After all, people on the streets will be afraid of the hungry eyes of a vampire glowing yellow, and, for example, a fundamentally kind character who bites the townspeople at night and is afraid of the light of the Sun is somehow illogical. Therefore, you should know how not to become a vampire when traveling through the expanses of Skyrim.

How to avoid becoming a vampire

There are two different ways to turn into a vampire. The first is to catch the disease "Sangvinare Vampiris" from a fighter infected with vampirism and not cure it within three game days. You can get infected from vampires in the dungeons of Skyrim if you fall under the spell "Vampirism". The chance of infection is 10%. Therefore, when clearing dungeons, vampires must be killed quickly and from afar, preventing them from sticking to themselves.

If the infection has already occurred, then within three days you need to be cured by drinking a potion of cure for diseases or by praying for healing at one of the altars. However, sometimes there is not enough time to get to the altar or get the right potion, and the incubation period of the disease ends with the conversion into a child of the night. How not to become a vampire in this situation? In the city of Morthal lives a magician named Falion, who has dedicated his life to the study of vampires. If you help him in his scientific works, together you will be able to create a cure for vampirism. Another way is to join the Companions, become a werewolf, and wolf regeneration can easily cope with the vampire blood in your veins.

Vampires in Dawnguard

In the story of the Dawnguard, the player will have to face the vampires closely. In addition to the obligatory precautions in a battle with bloodsuckers, at some point the head of the Volkihar clan will offer the player to become a High Vampire. And although this will give the hero incredible magical abilities, the offer should be refused if you do not plan to turn the hero into a creature of darkness.

The Vampire Lord is the highest and extremely rare vampire species in Skyrim. Reincarnating from an ordinary person into a vampire, the hero receives huge advantages in strength, endurance and vitality. Also, a special quality of the vampire lord is considered to be his terrible and formidable appearance, which is why opponents fighting him instantly fall into horror. Fortunately, the game has the ability to become a vampire lord yourself, but not everyone knows how to do this. In this article we will tell you how to become a vampire lord in skyrim, and what are the pros and cons of this ability.

A clear example of the epic and power of the vampire lord

How to become a vampire lord

So, first of all, you need to download the official DLC called Dawnguard. Usually, when installing Skyrim, this mod comes in a kit, so it's more likely that you already have it. After installing the mod, we go into the game and gain the 10th level. After that, you need to find one of the members of the guardians of the dawn and join this organization. Further, everything is quite simple - in one of the main quests of the guards of the dawn, you will wake up from a deep sleep Serana, the daughter of the main vampire lord from the Volkihar clan named Harkon. After taking Serana to Castle Volkihar, Lord Harkon will thank you and offer to join his family. If you agree, you will be rewarded with the ability to become a vampire lord, but then the guards of the dawn will become your sworn enemies.

  2. Find the spell of transformation into "Vampire Lord"(Vampire Lord) and select it.
  3. Close the Magic section and during the game press the button Z. Next, the transformation into the vampire lord will begin, it will take a few seconds.

Vampire Lord Features

As well as with werewolves, vampire lords have some disadvantages, and the advantages of which will be discussed below.

Vampire Lord Benefits:

  1. A large tree of development, which can be developed by sucking blood from the inhabitants of Skyrim.
  2. The power of a vampire lord is comparable to the strength of an entire squad of legionnaires or storm brothers.
  3. The running speed of the vampire lord is only slightly inferior to that of a horse.
  4. Night vision.
  5. The ability to fly above the ground, and this ability can also be used on the water.
  6. You can transform into a vampire lord an unlimited number of times a day.

Vampire Lord - Third Person View

Vampire Lord Disadvantages:

  1. All the inhabitants of Skyrim will attack when you are reincarnated as a vampire lord.
  2. You cannot use magic, weapons, inventory, fast travel, or dialogue as a vampire lord.
  3. You won’t be able to swim and generally dive into the water until you turn into a primordial species.
  4. The Guardians of the Dawn will hunt you down, and will periodically make ambushes and surprise attacks.
  5. Thus, you will go to the dark side, and an interesting line of tasks from the guards of the dawn will not be available to you.

Summing up

Now you know how to become a vampire lord in skyrim, and what this ability will entail. Of course, it is up to you whether you become a vampire lord or not, but know that there will be no turning back. Good luck!

In the game world of The Elder Scrolls, there is a transition to a state of vampirism - in fact, this is a disease that reduces some skills, but gives the character super skills and increases strength.

Infection occurs in the event of a collision with a vampire who uses a spell called "life drain". If within 72 hours after infection you drink a healing potion or come to the altar, no matter which Skyrim deity, then the vampirism will pass.

But if this is not done within three days, irreversible changes begin to occur and the first stage of the disease appears.

Vampirism in Skyrim

There are players who benefit from vampirism. Of course, sunlight leads the character to weakness and loss of health, but otherwise he receives excellent qualities: immunity from all diseases, poison ceases to act on him, disguise himself well in the dark, use powerful spells of the school of magic. Therefore, such Skyrim players do not worry about how to recover from vampirism. But not everyone thinks so: some players do not like red eyes, fangs and dull skin color, and also hide in dungeons during the day. In this case, you need to urgently look for a way to recover from vampirism.

Stages of the disease

The first stage is infection

The eyes turn red and the skin dulls, other characters in the game (NPCs) begin to notice this. Sneaking in secret, you can drink the blood of NPCs that are sleeping.

Stable effects:

  • ability to withstand frost is increased by 25%;
  • Fire damage is increased by 25%;
  • when exposed to sunlight, magicka, stamina and health are reduced by 15 points.

Second stage - 24 hours after infection

State change:

  • the ability to resist the cold is increased by 50%;
  • flames deal 50% more damage;
  • the influence of the sun reduces health, magicka and stamina by 30 points.

Third stage - 48 hours after infection

Changes:

  • the ability to resist cold increases to 75%;
  • damage from exposure to fire increases to 75%;
  • health, magicka and strength in the sun are reduced by 45 points.

Fourth stage - 72 hours after infection

The main part of the characters will attack you even in bright weather.

Stable effects:

  • cold effects are ignored by 100%;
  • fire deals 100% more damage;
  • the sun takes away health, magic and strength in the amount of 60 points.

At the last stage other characters will start enmity towards your hero, this will happen due to your complete transformation into a vampire. Without quenching the thirst for blood, the transition through the stages takes place every 24 hours. As thirst is quenched, hunger is reduced to the first stage. A vampire at stage 4 is attackable by all characters in the game. Therefore, you need to constantly look for a sleeping character and quench your thirst for blood. The ability to drink blood from sleeping characters appears only in stealth mode, similar to pickpocketing.

Ways to cure vampirism

The easiest and fastest way is to get rid of the disease using the console, but not all Skyrim players will approve of it. However, you can open the game console and enter the following command: player.removespell 000b8780. This will lead to the completion of the quest started at the time of the infection. It must be remembered that this method works once during the game, with subsequent infections, you will have to look for other ways to cure the disease.

It will be no less simple getting rid of vampirism by overcoming the tasks of associates. As a result, the character gets the opportunity to turn into a werewolf (werewolf). In another way, it is called lycanthropy, which competes with vampirism. You need to join the Companions team, go through several tasks and wait for a more difficult task called the Silver Hand. Now take part in the Blood Ritual and destroy the werewolf killers.

In the process of completing the quest The Silver Hand, Aela the Huntress turn your hero into a werewolf to demonstrate its capabilities. After completing the quest, it will be possible to refuse lycanthropy or remain in a werewolf state, in case of refusal, vampirism will be cured. There are players who consider lycanthropy a superpower, and someone considers it a disease more terrible than vampirism.

Werewolves have increased health and stamina, and their claws can deliver devastating blows.

Quest Wake up at dawn

Considering you're in the game, it's a lot more fun to heal vampirism yourself. So, you need to overcome the quest - Rise at dawn. It will become available after transforming into a vampire state. Information for passing can be found with the owner of each tavern in Skyrim, you need to ask about fresh rumors. It will become clear that the sorcerer Falion in Morthal is studying vampires, and is also looking for a way to cure this disease. Now you need to go to Morthal - a settlement in the north of the province, located in the swamps. Necessary find Falion and call him for help. The sorcerer will set the condition to find the black stone of souls and place the soul in it.

Many sorcerers sell the soul stone, and Falion is no exception. In lairs where necromancers hide, you can also find a black stone. The soul is captured using the appropriate spell. The level of souls that need to be encased in stone must be high: a human, an elf, a representative of the bestial race, a Dremora. The most convenient way to get a soul is to kill the first bandit that gets in the way. At the request of Falion, the stone will need to be delivered to the forest, and placed in a circle of prayer near Morthal, where he will perform a ritual that will cure you of vampirism.

The vampires of the Skyrim game tend to pass in a hidden mode, at a time when melee is more suitable for a werewolf. Both options have their pros and cons, but if you take into account that you get less negative effects in the werewolf state, then this transformation is less dangerous than vampirism.
