Barbecue installation

In addition, the profile pipe is a versatile material. It is suitable not only for load-bearing structural elements (pillars, roof beams), but also for all others, including decorative ones, as well as for the manufacture of seats and tables. You can build a gazebo using only a professional pipe and some kind of roofing material, such as polycarbonate. To make the whole structure as light as possible and be the most aesthetically attractive, just as shown in the photographs, you should choose rolled metal of various sections.

For racks, they take a pipe of such a size that will ensure the strength and reliability of the gazebo, and for all other elements and parts - a smaller one, depending on the purpose and functions performed. It is best to use square pipes, especially for supports. Rectangular ones are also suitable, but it is preferable to use them for the manufacture of gazebo fencing, battens and other non-power or lightly loaded elements.

When erecting a gazebo, you will need skills in working with power tools: a grinder and an electric drill. It is also desirable to be able to handle the welding machine. This will allow, where necessary, to make mounting joints in the form of welds between metal parts. Fasteners made using bolts and nuts look much less neat and aesthetically pleasing than those made using a welding machine.

Start of construction - we make a project

The design and construction of a covered structure for recreation using a professional pipe is fundamentally no different from the construction of any other type. First you need to make a drawing or sketch of the future structure. It should reflect the dimensions of the gazebo itself (dimensions), all its structural elements and parts, as well as the methods of mounting the latter and connecting them together.

The more detailed the project is, the easier it will be to determine the amount of material needed and the easier it will be to erect a recreation facility. If necessary, make several sketches: general and for different angles, complex or requiring detail sections of the structure. It should immediately be noted that in the case of deepening the racks into the ground, with or without concreting, the length of the pipes for them must be greater than the design height of the supports by an amount equal to the length of the fragment that will be under the ground.

The shape of the gazebo can be any. The easiest way is to build a square or rectangular. In this case, it is also easier to build a roof. It can be single or double. The most original and elegant look. As you can see in the photo, their roof is multifaceted.

To simplify the arrangement of such a roof with your own hands and in cases where a hexagonal structure with large external dimensions is being erected, one more additional support in the center should be provided at the frame of the gazebo, in addition to the racks along the perimeter. Roof rafters will be attached to it, and it should be higher than the side ones so as to provide the necessary slope of the roof. A multifaceted canopy can also be made at rectangular and square arbors.

We collect the frame of the gazebo

At the place chosen for the installation of the gazebo, we prepare a platform for it - we remove the top layer of fertile soil with the roots of vegetation or we clear and level the open ground until a horizontal surface is obtained, and then we mark the contours of the future structure according to its size. After that, you need to dig trenches for the foundation.

Since the gazebo is a relatively light structure, it is possible to make a columnar foundation for it - to make concreting only at the place where the racks are installed. Therefore, it is enough to dig the required number of holes with a diameter of 40 cm and a depth of 0.5 m or more. For racks, it would be optimal to choose a profile pipe with a wall thickness of 2.5 mm and a cross section of 80 × 80 mm. The supports are installed vertically in the pits and the latter are poured with concrete.

You can do without a foundation, especially if the gazebo erected with your own hands is small in size. In this case, it is desirable to weld the heel to the bottom of the racks - such supports will be more stable. And even better, along the perimeter of the gazebo, lay a channel or corner down with a shelf, which will serve as the base of the frame, and weld it at the corners of the future structure. Racks are welded to the resulting structure.

In both cases, care must be taken about the durability of the base of the gazebo frame - resistance to high humidity and precipitation. To do this, rolled metal, which will be located at the surface of the earth and under it, should be coated with a primer or anti-corrosion paint for metal.

After installing the racks, we make horizontal upper and lower trim around the perimeter of the gazebo. We use a pipe of the same or smaller section for this. The belts should be welded at such a height that at the entrance to the gazebo the lower harness does not interfere with stepping over, and the upper one does not force you to tilt your head. To increase the strength of the structure, it is also recommended to make diagonal braces between the posts. They are welded to the racks in all openings, except for the entrance.

How to make a roof, and what will be the finish?

For the arrangement of the roof, it is necessary to mount the truss system. We make it from the same pipe that was used for the racks. The slope of the rafters, and hence the future roof, should be at least 10-15 degrees. When, due to the large size of the gazebo being erected, rafters longer than 1.5 m are obtained, spacers should be welded inside the contour of the system, as in the photo. Then we make a crate with our own hands - we weld a thin professional pipe between the rafters every 35 cm.

Due to this, the roofing material will not deform under the weight of snow and under wind loads.

We lay polycarbonate sheets on the crate, drill holes and tighten the self-tapping screws with thermal washers. The side openings of the gazebo can be decorated along the perimeter by welding geometric structures made of metal rods or a thin professional pipe to the posts, as shown in the photo. Having shown a little imagination, we come up with a pattern according to which we cut and fasten the material using a welding machine. You can also make a wooden crate or close the openings with panels of composite materials. An original and beautiful decor is obtained from curly flowers or grapes.

To ensure a comfortable stay inside the gazebo, you can make a floor, and you need to install benches or chairs and a table. The necessary furniture can also be made with your own hands using the same materials. As the simplest floor, filling from sand, screenings or gravel is suitable. The presence of concrete or products made from it, natural stone or paving stones under your feet will make your stay more comfortable. The best, but also the most expensive in all respects, floors are wooden. In order for them to last as long as possible, when arranging them between the boards and the soil, it is necessary to make a waterproofing or air gap.
