There have been many wars in the history of our Motherland - large and small, conquest and liberation, but only two of them are called Fatherland. It is characteristic that for Russia, which is prone to reassessing values, revising its history, overthrowing former idols, it is the Patriotic War of 1812 that is something sacred.

Researchers treat its history with surprising care and tact. War heroes, who possessed not only undoubted merits, but also natural human weaknesses, are still fanned in our minds with a romantic halo that puts them beyond the criticism of their descendants. They manage to evoke admiration and admiration in us through the centuries.

2012 marks a glorious date - the 200th anniversary of the Victory of Russia in the Patriotic War of 1812.

The issue of fostering patriotism and respect for the history of the Fatherland was one of the main issues in 2012, which was declared the Year of Russian History. 2012 saw the most important historical anniversaries: the 200th anniversary of Russia's victory in the Patriotic War, 1150 years of Russian statehood, 770 years of the Battle on the Ice. Civil-patriotic events in the libraries of the Central Library System were held under the sign of these dates.

These are veterans of hostilities in the Republic of Afghanistan, participants in hostilities in the North Caucasus, future soldiers - students of educational institutions of the Velikie Luki region. During the presentation, which consisted of two parts, the participants of the event learned about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War who defended the area, as well as about the military personnel who took part in the hostilities in Afghanistan and Chechnya. Those present honored the memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland with a minute of silence. Traditionally, flowers were laid at the monuments to the soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War.

An evening was held in the Palkinsky regional library for the Defender of the Fatherland Day - the parting words "To be a soldier - to serve the Motherland." Librarians told about the tragic pages of our history - the Great Patriotic War, the war in Afghanistan, the war in the Chechen Republic.

Samolukovskaya rural library of Loknyansky district in 2012 worked on the program "Love and Know Your Land"... To help plan work with children in 2012 for the SBF, a list of articles from periodicals about the war of 1812 was selected and compiled.

The focus is on veterans, participants, eyewitnesses of the Great Patriotic War:

Victory Day (May 9) –
Arbazh Central Bank: For Victory Day, the subscription has issued the exhibition "My land in the wartime" . The exhibition was issued on a subscription to the Central Bank for the 66th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Main sections: 1. Frontal days and nights 2. Only books by Kirov authors about fellow countrymen who fought at the front, home front workers, heroes of the Soviet Union - residents of Kirov and Arbazhans are presented.

It has already become a tradition to hold a holiday for pensioners from the House of Veterans together with students from the boarding school correctional school and employees of the center of social protection of the population. A congratulatory program was held this year "The memory is kept alive"(to the 66th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War). The program of the event included: 1. Review of the book exhibition "My land in the wartime" 2. A festive concert of children from a correctional boarding school 3. Congratulations to social workers on Victory Day. 4. Tea party with home front workers.

Arbazhskaya DB: The theme of the Great Patriotic War still worries people of different generations. It is especially important that children start reading books about the war from early childhood. Colorfully decorated book exhibitions worked on the subscription and in the reading room of the library. On a subscription for students 1-9 grades. a book exhibition was prepared "Alive with eternal memory ..." with sections: "Happy Victory Day", "Heroic Past". For the exhibition, headpieces with poems were decorated, illustrations, postcards with images of the Victory Day parade in Moscow, G.K. Zhukova, G.P. Bulatov. An exhibition-viewing worked in the reading room "Children of that terrible war." Schoolchildren 5-9 grades got acquainted with the works about children who fought on the front line and worked in the rear in the section "Children on the Road to War", the section of the exhibition "Children in the Enemy's Rear" was devoted to the hero pioneers.

Head of the sector of mass work DB Kislitsyna G.N. a brochure was compiled "One destiny - one Victory"... The collection includes stories about the participants in the war of the Arbazh region. The schoolchildren's essays were written based on newspaper materials, according to the recollections of veterans for participation in the regional action "War has passed on the ground", which was carried out by the Regional Children's Library named after A.S. Green in 2010. The editions were presented to M.S. Sozinov and A.V. Tselischev, whose memoirs were included in the publication at the rally on May 9. In 2011, the recommendatory literature was finalized "You need this book about war, I need it too ..." compiled by the chief librarian DB Mashkina E.P. The index in the computer version is designed by the employee of the Central Bank Demidova O.A. Head of DB Semenovs T.Yu. published a brochure "Obelisk in the depths of Russia" about the monument to the perished arbazhans.

Arbazh Central Bank: The book exhibition "Feat in the Name of Life" was completed by June 22, the day of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Main sections: 1941. Invasion. 1942 year. The time of worries and hopes is 1943. The defeat of the enemy on the Volga in 1944. On the road to liberation 1945. Victory. The exhibition presents books about the Second World War, military memoirs of participants in the war, reproductions of paintings about the war. With the widows of the participants in the war, an evening of memory "The war walked along these destinies" was held. The event was held jointly with the administration of the village, the district council of veterans. The program of the event: a conversation - a recollection of the first days of the war, about how they had to work during the war years, how they met victory, about the first post-war period. A presentation was shown on the monuments to the participants of the Great Patriotic War in the Arbazh region.

Arbazhskaya DB: For a memory lesson "Little stories of the big war" preschoolers, the senior group of the village kindergarten were invited. The event was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. There was also preliminary preparation, the children learned poems about the war in advance. The librarian told the children about the mournful events of that wartime, when their great-grandmothers and great-grandfathers were as little as they are. About how in the first days of the war the fascists managed to conquer many peoples, destroy our cities and villages, and kill many peaceful people. But as in a fairy tale - our people have risen - both men and women, and old people and children rose to defend the Fatherland. And the war, therefore, is called the Great Patriotic War.

The second part of the event took place in a playful way. The guys played the role of postmen in the "Postal Pigeon" relay, delivering envelopes with "front" letters. We took part in the game "Bandage the Wounded". The relay race "Into battle" (they threw a "grenade" into the box) showed that great-grandchildren are as agile and courageous as their grandfathers.

Local history is an important resource for the patriotic and moral education of the younger generation.

The exhibition presents books from the series "Leaders of the Kirov region", a brief historical background, quotes about our region, poems about Vyatka.

A local history tournament "Here is the beginning of my homeland" was held (On the natural monuments of the Kirov region and the Arbazh district with students of a correctional boarding school.
A presentation "The Nature of the Native Land" has been prepared. This presentation includes photographs with a view of the nature of the village of Arbazh and the Arbazh district. Verses are selected for each slide.

During the school holidays, a virtual tour of the Arbazh district was carried out. The children got acquainted with the presentations: "Travel in the Arbazh region" and "The nature of the Arbazh region".

Compiled a recommendatory list of literature "Vyatka painter" (to the 155th anniversary of A.M. Vasnetsov). The list contains the literature that is in the library about the life and work of A.M. Vasnetsov, as well as information about the life and work of the Vyatka artist.
Arbazhskaya DB: For the Days of the Kirov Region and the 75th anniversary of the formation of the region, the exhibition-viewing has been completed and will continue its work until December 20 "I am a particle of Vyatka, I am a particle of Russia." Book materials are collected in the sections: "The historical past of our region", "Cities and villages of the Vyatka region", "Famous fellow countrymen" (scientists, doctors, musicians, artists, architects, athletes, politicians), "Russia is a lovely corner" (lyrical sketches about the native land).

A local history game-competition was held for 6th grade students "Corner of Russia - Vyatka Territory"... The librarian introduced the schoolchildren to the history of education in the region and invited the children to take part in an extramural journey around their native land with the help of books. The encyclopedia for children "Vyatskaya Azbuka", which helped to find answers to the questions asked, became a good helper for the children. The game began with a warm-up, where sixth graders answered the simplest questions. For example: What cities of the Kirov region do you know? What rivers of the Kirov region do you know? What are the settlements of the Arbazh region? etc. Then the guys took part in the "Translators" competition (to find the meaning of old Vyatka words). The ecological competition offered to show their knowledge about animals and plants of our region. Before the "Famous countrymen" competition, the children were told about outstanding countrymen, and then the participants received an assignment where it was necessary to combine the name of a famous person with his profession. In the same competition, charades from Ponomarev were solved. Then the guys were asked to guess the old Vyatka riddles. At the end of the event, the presenter addressed the schoolchildren with the words: “I would like to believe that you young Vyatichi, wake up to preserve the culture of your ancestors, so that you can proudly say always and everywhere:“ We are Vyatka, Vyatka, people of Hravat ”.
