Treatment of sore throat with herring on the neck. How to cure a sore throat with folk remedies. Nutrition for sore throat

When treating sore throat, there are many traditional medicines that can be used for the disease. And these remedies occupy not the last place in the treatment of sore throat and are used to this day.

First of all, folk remedies are used for gargling to relieve inflammation and sore throat that occurs with sore throat.

Gargling with iodine and salt for a sore throat. Gargling with salt is the simplest and most accessible method. Dissolve one level teaspoon of salt in half a liter of warm boiled water. To enhance the effect of this composition, you can add one teaspoon of baking soda and 5 drops of iodine to the saline solution.

You can prepare a more concentrated solution: dissolve the same amount of salt and soda in a glass of water, adding iodine. Gargle your sore throat with this solution every hour.

Gargling with an iodine-saline solution is most effective during the initial illness and the appearance of the first symptoms of the disease.

Gargling with a solution of potassium permanganate. You need to gargle with potassium permanganate very carefully, thoroughly dissolving all the grains of potassium permanganate. You can prepare a strong solution of potassium permanganate separately and add it to the water until it turns slightly pink, straining through cheesecloth. Gargling with potassium permanganate will dry out the mucous membrane of the throat, so 20 minutes after gargling, the throat should be lubricated with sea buckthorn oil or other vegetable oil. Gargling with potassium permanganate is effective for purulent sore throat. You can enhance the effect by adding 5-6 drops of iodine per glass of solution. Gargle with this solution 4 times a day.

Apple cider vinegar rinse. For gargling, prepare a solution in a 1:1 ratio. To rinse, you need to take only natural apple cider vinegar and watch its concentration. Typically, apple cider vinegar is always 6%. At higher concentrations, reduce the amount of vinegar.

Gargling with beetroot juice. Gargling with beet juice relieves swelling, inflammation and sore throat. Prepare the rinse solution as follows:

Wash the beets, grate them on a fine grater to make 1 cup of grated beets. Add 20 ml of 6% natural apple cider vinegar. Let it brew for 4 hours and squeeze out the juice through cheesecloth. Gargle with the resulting juice 7 times a day.

Garlic rinse. To gargle, you need to prepare a garlic infusion: brew two cloves of garlic with a glass of boiling water. Leave for an hour, strain and gargle.

Rinse with tea. To gargle, you need to brew strong loose-leaf black or green tea, add one teaspoon of salt and gargle with warm infusion.

Gargling with lemon juice. To gargle, prepare a solution of lemon juice and warm water in a ratio of one part juice to three parts water. You can gargle with one solution of lemon juice, or you can add one tablespoon of natural honey to a glass. Gargle 3 times a day. After rinsing, do not eat or drink for two hours.

If you have a sore throat, you can chew lemon zest for 30 minutes. The essential oils released help fight infection.

Gargling for sore throat with decoctions of medicinal herbs

To gargle, I use many medicinal herbs that have antiseptic, disinfectant, antimicrobial properties: calendula, chamomile, eucalyptus, sage, plantain, wormwood, mallow and many others that can be bought at the pharmacy.

You can gargle by preparing a decoction of one herb or by brewing a mixture of herbs.

In what proportion to brew one herb is written in this

Here I will give recipes for decoctions of the most effective and popular mixtures of medicinal herbs.

Eucalyptus, chamomile and calendula.

Wormwood, calendula, plantain.

Elderberry, mallow, sage.

Mix in equal proportions, for example, one tablespoon at a time, herbs. Mix. Brew 200 ml of boiling water, one tablespoon of a mixture of herbs, leave. Strain, cool and gargle several times a day.

Infusion of calendula, chamomile and birch buds . Brew one tablespoon of the mixture, prepared from equal parts of herbs, with two glasses of boiling water. Place on water for 15 minutes. Then strain the broth, cool and rinse every two hours.

Blueberry decoction. Blueberries have tanning properties and quickly relieve inflammation. To prepare the decoction, pour half a glass of blueberries into two glasses of boiling water. Boil for 30 minutes at a low boil, strain and gargle with warm broth.

It is good to use Kalanchoe or aloe juice to gargle. Prepare a rinse solution by squeezing the juice from the plant and diluting it with water in a ratio of one part juice to three parts water.

Alcohol tinctures of medicinal herbs can also be used to gargle. The most popular is calendula tincture. Prepare a solution for gargling by adding 1 teaspoon of tincture to a glass of warm water. In the same way, you can prepare a rinse solution with other tinctures, for example, propolis tincture. Gargle every hour.

For purulent anina, add 5 drops of calendula alcohol tincture to the furatsilin solution. This will enhance the effect of furatsilin and relieve pain faster.

Neck wraps, so-called envelopes, also help with sore throat. Wraps with diluted alcohol or vodka help well. Wrap the compress around the neck, cover with a plastic bag or film, wrap a warm scarf on top and keep for about an hour.

Envelope with dimexide. Make a solution of one part dimexide and 3 parts water. Moisten a napkin or gauze, wrap it around your neck and hold for an hour. Instead of water, you can take a solution of furatsilin, preparing a compress in a ratio of 1:5.

Cottage cheese compress. Wrap the cottage cheese in a cotton cloth. Wrap the compress in film and wrap it with a scarf. Keep for two hours.

Herring compress. Cut the herring lengthwise. Apply to the throat with the inside, wrap with cotton cloth, cover with film and leave overnight.

As you can see, there are a lot of folk remedies for treating sore throat. Decoctions of medicinal herbs can be used not only for gargling, but also for oral administration. Brew teas by adding honey. This will help you cope with the disease faster and avoid complications.

How to quickly cure a sore throat? This question worries many people suffering from acute tonsillitis (another name for the disease). It is important to understand that it is necessary to eliminate the problem urgently without waiting for the disease to cause complications.

Quick treatment for sore throat at home

In order to understand how to quickly get rid of the disease, you need to understand the disease itself and determine the mechanisms of its development. To bring treatment to the final stage - recovery, the patient must drink a lot, since at high temperatures, fluid leaves the body along with sweat.

Drinking plenty of fluids will help not only alleviate the patient’s condition and prevent dehydration, but also lower the temperature and eliminate intoxication in the body. Therefore, treatment should be combined with the intake of juices, but not sour ones, since it is not recommended to irritate the mucous membrane. Jelly and cranberry juice are good options.

Quick treatment of sore throat is possible if the patient follows all the rules, which include three tasks. First, conditions must be created for the patient to help normalize his defense mechanisms, which will make it possible to overcome intoxication. Other goals include the use of anti-inflammatory treatment and topical therapy.

The disease can be quickly cured by following bed rest. This is necessary not only during the period of high body temperature in the patient, but also in the following days to prevent the return of this symptom. Since sore throat can lead to complications associated with disturbances in the functioning of the genitourinary, cardiovascular and other systems, this rule should be strictly followed.

During bed rest, plenty of fluid intake is also necessary. Fruit jelly, fruit juice, tea with lemon, mineral water - all this should become part of the treatment. A patient requires about 1.5 liters of fluid per day, which is approximately equal to the daily requirement of a healthy person.

As for nutrition, you should adhere to a dairy-vegetable diet. The patient's food should be rich in minerals and vitamins. Spices and spicy foods are prohibited; it is not recommended to eat very cold or hot food. Otherwise, treatment may take a long time or negative reactions may occur in the body.

Use of sulfa drugs and antibiotics

How to quickly cure a sore throat without resorting to such remedies? No, because they are the basis for the patient’s recovery. Biseptol is most often used, although sulfadimethoxine and sulfalene are also widely used. These drugs are used during catarrhal tonsillitis as a means for independent treatment and for follicular and lacunar forms of the disease as an additional medicine.

You should consult your doctor before using these medications. Depending on his recommendations, the dosage of the medicine will be different. Having received instructions from the doctor, you must follow them until the end of your recovery.

The most important means of therapy are antibiotics, without which treatment cannot be done if the question arises of how to quickly get rid of a sore throat. Antibiotics are rarely prescribed for the catarrhal form of the disease; most often they are used for follicular and lacunar tonsillitis.

The most common drugs are amoxicillin, tsifran, oxacillin, cephalexin and a number of others. In severe cases of the disease or in the event of complications, injections are used, for example, penicillin, cefazolin, ceftriaxone. As in the previous case, before starting treatment, consultation with your doctor is required.

Urgent help for throat

Gargling will help cure a sore throat when sick. To carry out the procedure you need to take two glasses. One will contain water with diluted hydrogen peroxide. You need 2 tbsp. l. 3% solution. If there is no peroxide, then a hydroperite tablet will do. Rinsing with this solution will help cure a sore throat, since the amount of plaque on the tonsils is reduced, which reduces the degree of intoxication. A second glass is needed to prepare the solution. As a remedy that will be included in the treatment of the disease, you can use:

  • potassium permanganate (light solution) and 15-20 drops of iodinol, microcide and propolis per half glass of liquid;
  • 1 tsp. calendula per glass of liquid;
  • 1 tsp. chamomile extract per glass of water;
  • 1-2 ampoules of furatsilin per half glass of liquid;
  • 15-20 drops of iodicerin in half a glass of water.

These agents have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects, help wounds heal and reduce pain. As for the method of gargling, you should take liquid from the first glass into your mouth, gargle, then spit out the solution and take liquid from the second vessel. At first, it is recommended to immediately spit out the solution. It is not necessary to do this in the future; you can gargle, hold the solution in your mouth, and then continue gargling.

This ensures the best effect of treatment, since the medicinal solution is in longer contact with the affected areas. During one rinse, you should use one glass of medicinal solution. This indicator depends on the form of the disease and the age of the patient; for children it is recommended to use half a glass of solution. Procedures must be repeated every 3 hours.

Other treatments

How to treat sore throat further? After the rinsing procedure, you should put an antiseptic in your mouth and wait for it to completely dissolve. Among such drugs are cedovix, faringosept, anti-angin, strepsils, septolete, falimint, streptotsid and a number of other drugs. In order to quickly recover from a sore throat, you can use homeopathic remedies, for example, Angin-gran, tonsilotren and others. Before starting treatment, you should consult your doctor.

Aerosol medications can also help cure a sore throat. They should be used no earlier than 30 minutes after using the previous medicine. Such drugs include pharmacoseptic, ingalipt, yox, bioparox and many others. The drugs have a wide range of actions that help cure a sore throat. They are aimed at pain relief and also have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Not only rinsing, but also compresses will help to quickly cure a sore throat. Both water and semi-alcohol therapeutic dressings, which are applied under the jaw, are suitable for this purpose. They should be kept for several hours, performing the procedure 2-3 times a day. In the intervals between sessions, the throat must be insulated using a scarf and other available means.

If the lymph nodes under the jaw are enlarged, you can apply a compress to the indicated area using the following solution: 1 part dimexide, 3 parts water. For children and women, the ratio is 1 to 4. The compress should remain in the indicated area for only about 1.5 hours. You can use the product 2-3 times throughout the day.

There are several mandatory rules for this disease. The first concerns self-medication, which is extremely unacceptable. It is necessary not only to recover from a sore throat, but also to avoid various complications that can develop against the background of the disease. Self-treatment can significantly worsen the situation.

Before starting treatment, including when choosing medications, you need to familiarize yourself with the drugs, check their expiration dates, and read the instructions. This is necessary to avoid dangerous situations and allergic reactions, since some products can cause them and are contraindicated for patients suffering from allergies.

Treatment should begin and urgent measures should be taken when the first signs of the disease appear. This will avoid exacerbation; in addition, the easiest way to quickly get rid of a sore throat is in the early stages. How to quickly cure the disease if a severe form progresses? In this situation, complex treatment is necessary, using several remedies simultaneously.

I bring to your attention simple, time-tested traditional medicine that will help you cope with such colds as angina, no less successful than many medications and pills.

Cure a sore throat 4 hours before: take a glass of water and ½ glass of ground cumin grains. Boil over low heat for 15 minutes, strain. Add ¼ cup of water to the remaining volume of the broth and bring to a boil again. After removing from heat, add 1 tbsp to the broth. a spoonful of cognac. Drink 1 tbsp every half hour. spoon (cumin is sold in stores or at the market).

Place spoons of sage in a saucepan, pour 400 ml of water, when the water boils, pour in two glasses of milk and bring to a boil again, reduce the heat and leave the broth to simmer. It is necessary to simmer until the broth has boiled away by one third, strain, and discard the herb. She has already given all her components to milk. Add honey or sugar to milk. Take warm or hot for 2 – 3 days, up to 1 liter per day. This is a very strong remedy, it will suppress all pathogens, protect against complications after illness, and will not damage the intestinal microflora. Can be drunk by adults and children.

Cure a sore throat in a day– take 1 teaspoon of real apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water and gargle and sip

To relieve inflammation Tie fresh cabbage leaves, smeared with honey, onto your throat. Leave them until the honey is completely absorbed (up to 12 hours) or simply change the sheets every 2 hours.

Chew calamus root every day - 5 times a day, a small piece. Keep each piece in your mouth for 15 – 20 minutes. After six months of this treatment, you will get rid of any frequent sore throats.

For a sore throat There is a simple and safe remedy - if you feel an aggravation, take a medium-sized lemon, scald it with boiling water and eat it. It will seem as fresh as potatoes. The temperature will disappear immediately, the pain will subside and your suffering will end

Herring is one of the most favorite products that are invariably present on our table. It's inexpensive and delicious. Even if the refrigerator is empty, potatoes and herring will always help out, and you won’t end up with a bad dinner.

“I would have said so right away,” said the saleswoman and placed a bottle of vodka in front of the spy. - Should you weigh the herring?

Hm,” Vasily Petrovich was slightly taken aback, “isn’t there anything weaker?”

“Only vinegar essence,” the saleswoman muttered, weighing a rusty herring with someone’s tail stuck to it...”

This quote is from modern literature, although the classics pay attention to herring. Well, at least a letter from Chekhov’s Vanka Zhukov:

“And this week, the hostess told me to clean the herring, and I started with the tail, and she took the herring and started poking me in the mug with her muzzle.”

Here is a case from the classics of life.

When the son of one of our newspaper readers turned four years old, she became very concerned that the child could not pronounce some letters. I tried to teach him tongue twisters, but he didn’t like repeating words that he couldn’t pronounce at all: “I say, say ‘fish’, and he says ‘herring’ to me! I’m nervous, and he’s crying, but in the end there’s no result.” Although herring is also a fish, and the child’s resourcefulness is a positive result.

But today I decided to talk to you about the role of herring in folk medicine, and to begin with I would like to provide a number of interesting data. Herring, as a real gift of the sea, contains almost 20% biologically valuable and easily digestible protein. The fat content of the fish is also high - up to 20-30% - depending on the type of herring. Fish that live in cold waters contain so-called Omega-3 fatty acids. These are polyunsaturated fatty acids that help fight too high levels of cholesterol in the blood and prevent atherosclerotic changes in blood vessels. Herring is also a source of vitamins A, D, E, B 1 (thiamine), B 6 (pyridoxine), B 12 (cyanocobalamin), nicotinic and pantothenic acid. Herring has a relatively high mineral content: 0.1% calcium, 0.27% phosphorus, 0.06% iodine, 0.031% magnesium, as well as potassium (0.44%) and iron (0.9%). The iodine contained in fish is necessary for the thyroid gland to produce hormones, so adequate intake of it in the body is vital. Moreover, even the skin of herring can treat the thyroid gland (goiter). In the morning on an empty stomach you need to eat the skin on one side of the herring, and before going to bed - on the other. And so on for 30 days. This recipe helped the granddaughter of Lydia Andreevna Romanova (Donetsk region, Gorlovka).

But you need to eat herring with caution, as this product is salty. 1 g of table salt can bind up to 100 ml of water, so people with high blood pressure, edema, and kidney disease should not get carried away with herring. Thus, young lightly salted herring contains 6.3 g of salt per 100 g of product, and salted herring contains 14.8 g. When tissues and blood vessels are saturated with table salt, excess water occurs in the body, which leads to overload of all organs. The heart begins to work harder, and the kidneys begin to intensively remove excess water and salt. Therefore, even healthy people should not regularly abuse herring. Excess salt is especially harmful for hypertensive patients, for whom I recommend soaking herring before eating. Too salty herring will become much tastier if you soak it in milk or regular tea all night. Or you can cook “diet” herring. To do this, it is gutted and cut into pieces. Next you need to prepare the brine. Boil your favorite spices (laurel, dill, coriander, etc. to taste) in 1 liter of water with 1 tbsp. salt without top. Cool the brine and pour it over the herring. After a day, the fish can be eaten without harm to health.

I’ll tell you one completely real story that happened in the post-perestroika period - or rather in 1993 - in the small Russian town of Zverevo, Rostov region. Moreover, I assure you that this is an absolutely true case, which I heard from Russian Andrei Kozhukhov, according to whom, he was a witness to all this.

So, there lived a man in that Zverev... An ordinary Russian man who shaved once a month and washed himself in the bathhouse with the same frequency. At that time there was still a bathhouse in Zverev. Now there is no bathhouse there, and in general in most houses there is no hot water, but cold water is allowed once a day, and then for two hours. This is how people live there.

But, as you know, a real Russian man drinks. And Andrei Kozhukhov’s hero didn’t just drink, but DRINKED! And he drank a lot and often.

And then one day he felt bad. It was so bad that the neighbors called an ambulance (the guy lived like a bastard). He was admitted to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a malignant cancerous tumor. Zverev's doctors sent the man to Rostov, where the unfortunate man was examined again and told that he had a maximum of three months to live, and only if he took some pills and stayed in a hospital under supervision. But the man sensibly decided that this would not save him, and returned to his hometown. He withdrew all the money he had, bought seven cases of real Russian vodka (for a walk like that!) and a lot, a lot, a lot of herring - with all the money. Maybe you remember: there were such big round canned food back then. Nowadays there is no such herring, but those who lived in those times should remember.

This is how our man stocked up, more than enough for the three months that were assigned to him for the rest of his life. And so that no one would bother him in the remaining three months allotted by the doctors, the man took out boards and nailed his door tightly. Naturally, the neighbors didn’t know anything: they thought he was in the hospital.

...But these planned three months have passed. Then three more. And only then did the neighbors get worried: they called the police and broke down the door.

The man was sleeping. A pile of empty cans and bottles was found in the kitchen. And here's what turned out: every morning our hero drank a glass of vodka, ate herring, washing it down with regular tap water. And went to bed. At lunchtime I woke up, ate a herring, took another hundred grams and again drank a lot of cold water. Went to bed. In the evening he repeated the meal and fell asleep again for the night. As a result, the man drank about 500-600 ml of vodka every day and ate three herrings. I also drank about a liter and a half of regular tap water. This was his diet all these six months.

And what do you think?

When the doctors examined the man six months later, he did not have a tumor. Moreover, before that he had not one tumor, but two. And the doctors buried him long ago. And after that, according to Andrei Kozhukhov, he lived for almost ten more years and died only nine years ago. He received a pension (before that he was a miner) and continued to drink. Only he no longer drank vodka, but the usual moonshine.

Andrei Kozhukhov, from whom I heard all this, said that he himself learned about this story in the fall of 2002. He was walking with his grandfather along Zverev and met a miner he knew, who was returning from the funeral of that same man. He told Andrey about this funny incident.

And here's what I think. If the man had listened to the oncologists in Rostov back then, he would have died exactly within the time frame they measured. Exactly in 1993.

I don’t want to agitate anyone with the method of treating the man from Zverev, much less the lifestyle that he led. I just want to draw your attention once again to the fact that after the patient stops consuming animal protein, the body immediately switches to fighting the tumor, which is a foreign body for it.

To confirm this, I would like to cite the story of Dzhema Vasilyevna Raikovskaya (Cherkassy region, Cherkassy district, Sagunovka village): “I used to live in a mining town in the Donbass. I am an underground engineer by profession, and one young woman worked with me. But then she suddenly fell ill, they put her in the hospital, treated her there for a long time, but, in all likelihood, they could not help and sent her home to die. Moreover, the doctors did not even know what the woman was sick with and, accordingly, they did not diagnose her.

One day we decided to go see her and at the same time wish her a happy birthday (if you are sick, you are not sick, and birthdays only come once a year). They took everything as expected - both a gift and all sorts of tasty treats. But what we saw shocked us. The woman was not yet thirty years old, but she looked like she was sixty. In general, they congratulated us and sat down at the table. At the same time, they tried to have fun in order to raise the vitality of the sick birthday girl. And suddenly she really wanted salted fish. We began to dissuade her together, saying that you can’t do it, it might get worse. And she replies: “It doesn’t matter, girls, I’m going to die, so at least let me eat some fish.” I haven’t eaten it for six months.” And she began to greedily gobble up the herring, and we just looked at her and were silent. In general, the scene corresponded to the saying “I want it like before I die.” After about an hour or an hour and a half, the birthday girl became so ill that she began to vomit. We were very scared, we splashed water on her, gave her something to drink, but she kept vomiting and vomiting. At the same time, something came out of it that cannot be described: flakes, balls of mucus, and so on. Then she was put to bed, exhausted, and the angry relatives politely asked us to leave. No mood. But about a week later, this woman herself called us at work and began... thanking us for the fish. What do you think? After that birthday, she slowly but surely began to recover.”

That's it!

Among smokers, disease of the smallest vessels (capillaries) of the feet is quite common - endarteritis or moving lameness. The first manifestation of the lesion is a sharp pain in the calf muscles, when a person is forced to stop to relieve the spasm, and only after that he can continue on his way. The frequency of pain increases, often leading to necrosis of the limbs. Medicine has many different drugs, but they are not always effective, and are often in very short supply. Of course, no one can convince a smoker to quit smoking if he finds pleasure in it, but if someone finds himself in a dramatic situation, traditional medicine recommends using warm baths of herring brine. The duration of each bath is 5-20 minutes. The course of treatment consists of 15-20 baths.

Children of early and preschool age with increased nervous excitability often experience bedwetting (enuresis). Typically, involuntary urination occurs 3-4 hours after falling asleep, sometimes repeated at night when the child is in deep sleep. In the evening, 1-2 hours before bedtime, let your child eat a piece of herring with bread. Taking salty foods before bed protects against involuntary urination at night.

I will give a number of recipes from letters from my readers. I assure you it will be interesting!

Agrippina Markovna Demyanenko, Poltava region, Lubensky district, Matyashivka village:“I’ve read a lot of recipes for headaches in your newspaper, but I’ve never seen anything like this before. But I only use it for headaches. As soon as I feel like I have a headache, I immediately eat a piece of salted herring, and the headache subsides. Moreover, I always have herring at the ready.”

Lyudmila Andreevna Sidnenko, Kirovograd:“When I was still a child, I constantly had a sore throat. It doesn't matter whether it was winter or hot summer. Later doctors diagnosed tonsillitis. Then my mother’s friend advised me to treat me with very salted herring. On her advice, my mother separated the fish pulp from the bones, applied it to my sore throat, where the tonsils are, and secured it with a bandage. I remember she did the procedure for me at night, and when I woke up in the morning, I felt incredible relief and swallowed food without pain. In the evening, my mother repeated the herring compresses again, and I never had tonsillitis again.”

Natalya Pavlovna Shevchenko, Dnepropetrovsk region, Krivoy Rog:“When I was sixteen, I had warts on my hands, which made me very ashamed. Then good people advised to take the head of a salted herring and rub the gills well on the places where the warts grow. Then bury the fish head in a place where people do not walk, for example, under a fence. Once the fish head rots, the warts will also disappear. After this, do not wash your hands during the day. This is the simplest and most accessible way. I checked it personally!”

Anna Petrovna Shevchenko, Kiev:“This method, although it is very simple and has been tested by many patients suffering from decreased adrenal function, is not in the medical literature. I age the herring until rust appears and use milk (not caviar!). It turns out to be a very strong hormonal drug. And it’s natural, without any chemicals!”

Victor Leontievich Gunko, Kharkov region, Izyum:“If an ingrown toenail is bothering you, put a piece of herring milk on it in the evening, cover it with a piece of cellophane, bandage it and leave it overnight. The procedure should be repeated every night until the nail softens. After this, the nail will stop growing in.”

Nikolay Tyzhden, Transcarpathian region, Mukachevo district, Yablunevo village:“For hypotension, our men have a simple and reliable village recipe: drink 50 ml of vodka and eat a piece of herring.”

Lyudmila Nikitichna Kitmenova, Kiev region, Makarovsky district, Makovishche village:“As a child until I was thirteen, I was terribly thin. And not just thin, but so thin that his stomach “stuck” to his back, and his legs were “like matches.” I was terribly embarrassed by my thinness. Nothing hurt me, but I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t getting better. The food in our family was good, since we kept a large farm, and we always had plenty of milk, meat and eggs at home. And my appetite was not bad, but nevertheless I did not gain weight.

One day we were standing in a group - girls and boys - joking, laughing, and between jokes we started talking about who was fat and who was thin and why. It was my turn. One boy asked why I was so thin, to which I replied that I don’t know. The second boy said that I probably had worms and needed to be taken out. I felt uneasy with shame, but I still asked how to do it. He laughed and jokingly said: “Give them a very salted herring!” Just don't let me drink. They will want water and will come out of you.”

Since my most sore spot was touched, I took this joke seriously. The next day I had a light breakfast, then a little lunch, and after lunch I went to the store where I bought two of the saltiest herrings. I didn’t eat anything until the evening, because I decided to eat one herring in the evening before going to bed, which I did. I ate without bread. It was hard, I even felt nauseous, but I still ate it and went to bed. In the morning, on an empty stomach, I ate the second herring. I was terribly thirsty, but I endured it. I endured without additional food or drink until two o’clock in the afternoon, and, imagine, a miracle happened - worms began to come out of me. They were as thick as an earthworm, but probably a meter long. I still don’t know what they are called. In my opinion - tapeworms. Three of them came out of me! After a while, I began to get better, a blush appeared on my face and, in general, I began to look like a normal person.”

Anatoly Iosifovich Khirilov, Donetsk region, Makeevka:“For those who suffer from psoriasis, eczema or dermatosis, I advise you to rub your entire body with fish oil or simply wipe it with salted herring, peeling it, and after 1 hour take a regular bath. After washing your skin with soap, wipe the painful areas with table vinegar diluted in half with water.”

There is another version of this recipe. Valentina Nikolaevna Globa from Kakhovka, Kherson region To treat eczema, she recommends rinsing fish scales, drying them, grinding them into flour, mixing them with fish oil and applying them to the affected areas. You can also buy salted herring, remove the skin and also rub it on the affected areas, then wash off with baby soap. “You don’t need to be afraid to rub salted herring not only on your sore skin,” Valentina Nikolaevna wrote to me, “but also on your face, neck, chest (in general, the whole body). With this treatment, it is necessary to take 1 tsp 3 times a day before meals. fish oil. In the 60s and 70s, fish oil was given to all children without exception, without waiting for them to get sick...”

Elena Dreeva, Vinnitsa:“A sore throat is best treated with compresses of herring and kerosene (lightly sprinkle the herring with kerosene). Unpleasant, but effective. My husband got rid of this sore forever in one night.”

And if you apply this treatment, then any flu and cold will disappear. Mix the chopped onion with a chopped clove of garlic, add a little sugar, 2 tsp. hot ketchup and mix well again. Season boiled peeled potatoes with this sauce and eat them with 1/5 of the salted herring. This food has antiviral properties. It helps a lot. Tested more than once by many people.

By the way, herring is usually sold already salted, but if you are lucky enough to find fresh raw herring, be sure to buy it - there is nothing tastier than fresh herring, grilled or baked in the oven.

And further! From the contraindications section. Now supermarkets sell herring cut into pieces with spices and vinegar in plastic bags. Delicious, to say the least. But it contains added preservatives - sodium benzoate and sorbic acid. I recommend that you better refrain from purchasing such products; don’t be lazy, cut the herring yourself, adding spices that you like.

Acute tonsillitis is popularly called tonsillitis. Read more about it in another article, but here we will look at sore throat. Despite the seriousness of this disease and the danger of complications, in practice you should show only a little attentiveness to your condition and not allow the disease to develop.

That is why it is quite possible to treat a sore throat at home without hospitalization.

Folk experience, combined with many recipes, opens up wide possibilities for this.

Folk experience in the treatment of sore throat

To the question of whether it is possible to treat a sore throat at home, the practical experience of many generations clearly answers “yes”. The most important thing is not to use frankly implausible recipes and treat your health with care.

In addition, do not forget that in extreme cases, treatment of mild sore throat at home can be carried out “in between times” (although doctors do not recommend doing this).

But in more severe forms, in any case, you will need to get a certificate of the need to undergo treatment in order to temporarily free yourself from the stress of work, study or any other activity. Homeopathic treatment prescribed by a doctor can be combined with additional remedies.

If you decide to treat a sore throat yourself, then do not forget about bed rest for the patient. It is highly recommended by doctors.

In addition, the patient needs:

  • temporarily exclude strongly spicy, hot and cold foods from the diet;
  • eat nourishing and high-calorie meals;
  • drink as much as possible.

A critical approach comes first!

Dr. Komarovsky and other medical specialists are popularizing various methods of treating sore throat in our country. Thanks to the Internet, various information today spreads literally at instant speed.

The most important thing is to distinguish truth from myth, and a recipe from grandma’s gossip. Because, for example, treating purulent sore throat with folk remedies is quite possible. However, you should not take recipes such as treatment with vodka and other strong drinks seriously. This is nothing more than a trick of those who like to “take it to the chest.”

To avoid becoming a victim of incorrect “treatment”, remember:

  1. Take advice critically. It's better to double check.
  2. When you hear another piece of advice, ask yourself: could this be true?

Sometimes you don’t need to be a medical specialist to easily distinguish true knowledge in folk medicine from a banal desire to “treat yourself” with vodka or other strong drinks.

Cold and beer against sore throat - truth or myth?

There is a widespread belief among people that a sore throat can be cured with cold. The premise is simple: supposedly harmful microorganisms cannot withstand hypothermia and die. In this regard, some seriously advise treating a sore throat with ice cream, as well as ice water or cold beer.

Doctors warn that “cold methods” can lead to complications. The thing is that the reaction to cooling depends on many factors. It is impossible to predict in advance how the body will react: whether it will get better or worse.

There are still more chances that it will get worse, so there is no point in taking another risk and being treated with cold beer (as well as hot).

Sore throat without fever

A rather rare, but not exceptional phenomenon is a sore throat without fever. It is difficult to determine immediately, because many are accustomed to thinking that temperature is a clear sign of illness.

However, doctors often remind that sore throat can be catarrhal. If you pay attention to the typical symptoms - the appearance of pustules and inflammation in the tonsil area - then timely treatment can be carried out.

Catarrhal sore throat can go away in just a couple of days. But without treatment, it has considerable chances of moving to a more severe stage. This will add temperature and other symptoms. Therefore, you should not ignore symptoms such as:

  • labored breathing;
  • pain and discomfort when swallowing;
  • lumps and bumps in the throat that can be felt with the tongue;
  • soreness, itching and other unpleasant sensations.

Any of these signs, even in the absence of a high temperature, may indicate the presence of a sore throat. Most often, the absence of fever indicates a more or less high immunity of the patient.

Traditional recipes for the treatment of sore throat

The more widespread the disease, the more widespread are the traditional methods of treating it. In this regard, treatment of sore throat with folk remedies is simply a storehouse of a wide variety of methods. Let's consider those that have been confirmed and will not present much difficulty in implementation.

Kerosene based recipes

You should not be afraid that some people think it is possible to treat a sore throat with kerosene. This is not substance abuse, as some people think, but simply the elimination of pathological microbes from the body.

When homeopathy was not developed, and no one had heard of antibiotics, kerosene and other toxic substances were often used to treat sore throats in ordinary home conditions, and not only sore throats.

But don't rush. Kerosene must be cleaned before use! To do this, pour a liter of kerosene and two liters of hot water (up to 70 degrees Celsius) into a three-liter container. Close the container and shake for 2-3 minutes. Open the lid periodically. Then let the container sit for a few minutes and carefully pour out the kerosene.

Now it can be used in any of three methods:

  1. Purified kerosene can be used to treat inflamed tonsils and palate. This should be done an hour or two before meals for a week. However, this is allowed only for mild cases of the disease. If your sore throat progresses, contact your doctor.
  2. In addition, you can prepare a kerosene solution. To do this, take a glass of boiled cold water, add half a tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of purified kerosene. Mix thoroughly and gargle with this solution. Repeat the procedure as often as you can - up to 12 times a day, for a week.
  3. Finally, you can gargle with the emulsion for prevention. To do this, dissolve 10 drops of pure kerosene in water at room temperature and gargle for a week - every time after eating. Then take a break - a week or even two. If necessary, you can repeat the course.

Hydrogen peroxide

Treatment of sore throat with hydrogen peroxide is very common among people. It has an antiseptic effect, so the essence of the method is extremely simple.

You can use a regular 3% solution or dissolve a hydroperite tablet in a glass of water. You can either gargle with this solution, or moisten cotton swabs and treat your tonsils.

Soda solution

This is another extremely simple folk method based on an antiseptic effect. Take one teaspoon of baking soda and mix it in a glass of water. You need to gargle with this solution 3 to 5 times a day.

There is another way to treat sore throat with soda. Mix half a teaspoon of soda and salt, add 4 drops of iodine tincture and pour a glass of boiled water. Then mix well; gargle several times a day. But don’t overdo it - after all, both soda and salt dry out the mucous membrane of the throat, and with a sore throat it is already inflamed.

Iodine rinses

To treat a sore throat with iodine, take a glass of warm water, add iodine (5 drops) and stir. You need to gargle with the resulting solution - up to four times a day.

To make the solution more effective, use a pink solution of potassium permanganate instead of water.

Propolis – a natural antiseptic

In general, propolis is used to treat many diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms. Sore throat is no exception. You can use it in different ways:

  1. The most effective way to treat a sore throat is to simply chew propolis. It must be of high quality. Real propolis will cause a burning sensation and numbness on the tongue. There is nothing wrong with this - it passes quickly. But the bacteria will die intensively. After eating, you can chew small pieces of propolis - the size of a fingernail.
  2. You can prepare an alcoholic infusion of propolis. To do this, mix 10 g of crushed propolis and 100 ml of alcohol. Leave in a dark place at room temperature for a week. If the infusion is needed urgently, you can prepare it in the same proportion in a water bath (not higher than 40 degrees), shaking for several hours every half hour. Mix the resulting alcohol infusion with water in a ratio of 1:10 and gargle.

The standard proportion is 10 ml of alcohol infusion per 100 ml of water. For children, it is recommended to take a reduced dosage, dissolving only 5 ml of alcohol infusion in 100 ml of water.

Garlic for all ills

There is nothing surprising about being treated with garlic. In addition to the general strengthening of the immune system that we get when we eat garlic, we can find other uses for it.

So, you can chop 2 or 3 cloves of garlic, pour a glass of boiling water and let it brew for about an hour. You will get a garlic solution, which you will need to gargle with when you have a sore throat - preferably up to five times a day.

Rinse with honey, beet juice and vinegar

Take two teaspoons of honey and dissolve in a glass of warm water. The resulting honey solution can be used to treat a sore throat by gargling up to five times a day. Treatment with honey becomes even more effective if you add another teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and beets to a glass of such a solution.

You can also simply rinse with beet juice. To do this, finely grate one beet and add 1 tablespoon of a 6 percent vinegar solution. Leave for an hour to an hour and a half. Then squeeze out the juice and gargle with it.

Gargling with apple cider vinegar can also help with sore throats. Take a glass of cool boiled water, add 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and stir. The solution can do more than just rinse. You can also drink it - whatever is more convenient for you. This solution should be used only after meals. Otherwise it will whet your appetite.

Lemon for sore throat

It is no secret that lemon can cure many diseases. Including sore throat.

There are several ways to use it:

  1. Take a medium-sized lemon, wash it and pour boiling water over it. Then eat it whole, without sugar. To do this, eat half a lemon every two hours, and then don’t eat or drink anything else for another hour.
  2. Peel the lemon and divide into wedges. Slowly dissolve one lobe once an hour. Try to keep the slice in your mouth closer to your throat.
  3. Eating lemon without sugar is difficult for many, so there is a gentler way. Cut the unpeeled lemon into small pieces and lightly sprinkle with sugar. Then take one piece at a time and slowly dissolve.

Lemon will help you fight a sore throat more successfully, and it also reduces high fever well.

Ginger tincture

Traditional medicine is tireless, and at home you can treat a sore throat with the simplest means. For example, you can successfully treat this disease with ginger. You can prepare an infusion of ginger using water, but this is a rather labor-intensive process. It is easier to prepare an alcohol tincture. And it will be stored much longer.

Take approximately 30 g of ginger (medium-sized root). Rinse well and then finely chop without peeling. Place the chopped ginger in an opaque glass or porcelain bowl, add 200 ml of vodka and close well. Infuse the ginger for two weeks in a dark and warm place.

You need to take this tincture 1 teaspoon twice a day before meals.

Cumin infusion

Many infectious diseases, including sore throat, can be treated well with caraway seeds. Cumin relieves pain and has an antiseptic effect. In addition, it strengthens the immune system and supports the body during illness.

To prepare the infusion, take 2 tablespoons of caraway seeds and pour a liter of boiling water. Leave for about three hours. To prevent the infusion from having an unpleasant taste, you can add lemon and honey to taste - this will not cause the infusion to lose its qualities.

You can gargle with it (with a break of two to three hours), you can also drink it instead of tea to fight a sore throat.

Herring compress

This method of treatment came to join the collection of folk methods for treating sore throat thanks to the residents of the Far East. They learned to treat themselves with herring when there was nothing to treat at all. It turned out that in many cases this actually helps, if not overcome, then weaken a sore throat.

Take about 100 g of salted herring fillet. Wrap thoroughly with gauze or bandage to form a compress. Before going to bed, apply this compress to your neck - closer to your jaw. It has been noted that in some cases, a fish compress eliminates sore throat at an early stage.
