Design of a two-room apartment in Scandinavian style. Scandinavian style in the interior of the apartment and house. Modern bedroom in Scandinavian style

Owners of a two-room apartment will be able to make their home cozy and functional if they choose Scandinavian style for interior design. Find out the design features and the basic rules for using the direction.

The Scandinavian style, as the name implies, came from the Scandinavian countries, and its formation was influenced by the territorial, climatic and cultural features of the area. The direction is worth choosing for several reasons:

  1. . It has an atmosphere of home and warmth, getting into which you can relax and escape from problems and everyday routine.
  2. Conciseness. Everything is simple in the interior, so the style will suit connoisseurs of restraint who do not tolerate ostentatious luxury and pretentiousness.
  3. Functionality. All elements take their places, perform certain functions, are used for their intended purpose. There are no unnecessary elements that clutter up the space.
  4. The abundance of light, achieved with the help of large unobstructed and the use of light colors. And any bright room will seem more spacious, comfortable.
  5. The use of natural materials allows you to create an environmentally friendly interior and achieve unity with nature, which is so lacking for modern people who spend most of their time in the "stone jungle".
  6. Freedom of space. The vast territories of the Scandinavian countries and the availability of natural materials made it possible to build spacious dwellings with a large area. This technique is not appropriate in all two-room apartments, but if you use the space rationally and refuse unnecessary details, you can support the concept and preserve the characteristic features.

Color palette

Two-room apartment, decorated in a Scandinavian style - it's mostly light colors. Shades of white are taken as the basis: from milky or marshmallow to snow-white with a slight blue tint, reminiscent of snow-covered mountain slopes. This color becomes a universal background, reflects the sun's rays falling on the surface and visually expands the boundaries of space, creating a feeling of spaciousness and freedom inherent in the style.

The white color taken as a basis can be diluted with pale blue, heavenly, shades of light wood, beige, sand. To place accents, rich and deep tones are used, but also related to the natural range: blue, brown, terracotta, dark green, burgundy. In a modern design, you can fit a few bright small spots: purple, red, dark orange.

Choice of finishing materials

Scandinavian style is dominated by natural materials. These are stone, wood, ceramics, metals, furs and leather, simple natural fabrics, glass. But natural materials are not cheap, so you can replace them with skillful imitations of natural textures.

A good option for decorating the ceiling is whitewashing or painting in a light color (white or beige). To create an entourage and a characteristic atmosphere, build dark beams. But this solution is suitable for rooms with high ceilings, as the beam structure will reduce the height.

The naturalness of materials is a requirement that extends to the choice of furniture. Choose items from solid wood. Simple processing is welcome, so a valid coating is a varnish or impregnation that protects against decay. Linen, cotton, cloth are used for upholstery.

Advice! Do not use plastic and PVC panels: glossy surfaces will not fit into the concept of unity with nature and simplicity.

Decoration techniques

To decorate the interior in the Scandinavian style, you can use:

  • Textile, but concise, made of natural fabrics of simple textures: cotton, cloth, linen. Decorate the interior with bedspreads, simple pillows (in moderation).
  • Knitted accessories will fill a two-room apartment with comfort: a blanket on the bed, a napkin on the table, a pillowcase.
  • Products made of leather or fur, for example, a skin or fur rug in the center of the room, leather or suede covers for stools.
  • Photos in simple wooden frames on the walls or pieces of furniture will give pleasant memories and focus on seed values.
  • An original, but not flashy lamp can act as a decorative element: a sconce decorated with deer antlers or made in the form of a candlestick, a floor lamp with a dense fabric shade, a voluminous chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
  • The functions of decorating the interior will be performed by curtains on the windows.
  • Glass items such as vases, trays, dishes.
  • support the atmosphere of comfort, fill the room with natural warmth.
  • Statuettes, figurines, dishes made of ceramics and clay. They can be placed on open simple wooden shelves fixed on the wall.
  • Wood products.
  • Hunting attributes: horns on the walls, animal skins, stuffed animals.
  • Mirrors in heavy metal or simple wooden frames will carry a functional load, scatter rays and multiply light, and support the overall theme.
  • Houseplants in pots or fresh flowers in vases.
  • Wicker baskets can be filled with fruit.
  • You can support the marine theme with an anchor on the wall, a picture of the sea or a ship.

Room design

When designing a two-room apartment in the Scandinavian style, you need to withstand all the rooms in this direction. And it is not difficult if you know the features of the arrangement of individual premises. They are reviewed below.

Corridor

Not everyone pays due attention to the design of the corridor, but the apartment begins with it. Here you can put a wooden hanger with hooks resembling deer antlers or branches of wild sprawling trees. Complement it with a simple dark wood shelving for accessories, a shelf for shoes. It will be convenient to take off shoes and put on shoes while sitting on a small chair or pouffe, upholstered in natural fabric.

Advice! Spread a rug decorated with a simple ornament in front of the threshold.

Kitchen

The Scandinavian-style kitchen is a cozy and functional territory of the hostess, used to create culinary masterpieces and breakfasts, lunches and dinners with the family. The central place will be occupied by a dining group, consisting of laconic stools or chairs (soft seats and backs without upholstery are allowed) and a table: wooden or having metal legs and a glass top. Decorate the working area with a countertop made of natural or artificial stone (high-quality imitation of the natural texture of the material is possible).

From furniture, use simple cabinets, floor or wall cabinets, open shelves for storing kitchen utensils and seasonings. Let the technique be simple and no frills, designed in white or pale beige tones. And do not overcrowd the kitchen with appliances: hide some in the furniture.

Finishing has characteristic features of the style. Cover the floor with tiles, walls with plaster. Highlight the working area with a ceramic apron.

Tip: dark furniture looks interesting against a light background, which can be combined with neutral light tones.

Living room

In the living room, a spacious sofa for the whole family will take center stage. Choose a standard or corner model with simple or even somewhat rough upholstery. A fireplace symbolizing the hearth can be placed in front of the sofa, and an electric model can be equipped in the apartment with a realistic imitation of burning fire and crackling firewood. Set up a low coffee table for cups of tea, newspapers and books. On the sofa, you can lay out a few pillows, spread a knitted bedspread. Place a fluffy carpet on the floor in front of him.

An elderly resident of the apartment will appreciate the rocking chair, which will organically fit into the interior. And it is better to replace the usual wall with an open rack or several shelves placed on the wall. You can organize a closed storage area using a wooden chest of drawers or a cabinet with doors.

Advice! Do not close the windows and use light-transmitting curtains to decorate them.

Bedroom

The design of the bedroom is designed to create a cozy relaxing atmosphere. Choose a large double bed with or without massive legs and a wide wooden headboard. On the sides, put simple bedside tables. A spacious closet and a large mirror on the wall will help organize the dressing area. Linen can be stored in a chest of drawers. And arrange a place to put yourself in order with a dressing table or a simple dressing table made of solid wood with a mirror above it and a laconic pouffe.

Advice! The bedroom of a two-room apartment will become more comfortable if you spread a small fluffy rug on each side of the bed. Then getting up in the morning on the floor will be more comfortable and pleasant.

Bathroom

The bathroom will be filled with a special Scandinavian atmosphere if you equip it with a large bathtub, which has rounded soft shapes. A screen made of impregnated boards or ceramics is welcome. The toilet is simple, and the sink can be metal, ceramic, stone or wood. Bath accessories and hygiene products will be stored in the bedside table, and it may be dark.

For decoration, use dark tiles for the floor and light tiles for the walls. The ceiling can be painted or decorated with narrow panels imitating boards. To store dirty laundry, purchase a Scandinavian-themed wicker basket.

Having decided to use the Scandinavian style for decorating a two-room apartment, adhere to the basic design principles and follow the rules. Knowing the features of the direction, you will make the interior cozy and functional.

Design project of a two-room apartment in Stockholm

Great light design of a small apartment for a small Swedish family. Location: Sweden, Stockholm. With only 50 square meters of material, the Swedish designers managed to hide this shortcoming.

Bright and light apartment in the heart of the capital

50 meters, simple and very light, and the walls are so white that the corners are almost invisible. Light flows freely into the rooms through large windows facing southwest.

The small kitchen is located at the entrance and has all the necessary features for young Swedish families: there is a breakfast bar, a stove, a modern extractor fan, a refrigerator and a built-in wine cabinet.

The bedroom is made in the same manner as the living room, and the only feature that betrays its purpose is a bed covered with a leopard skin, designed to melt the ice in a phlegmatic interior and a Swedish heart.

The bathroom has no frills. Yes, and it is difficult to place a jacuzzi on 3 square meters. Because everything is strict: bath, toilet, washbasin.

Very in harmony with the light walls and ceiling, a dark wood floor laid out along the light hit, visually enlarging a small apartment.

Entering the stage as an ethnic, Scandinavian design eventually became a real classic, in which the national flavor is reflected not in patterns or folk art, but in the general mood of the interior, the combination of its main components.

Peculiarities

The Scandinavian style in the interior of the house reflects the features of its inhabitants. Common features of the northern peoples are solidity, slowness, restraint, love for nature and their home, as well as thrift, which helps to save natural resources. The Scandinavian house is the embodiment of these folk features. Its design is characterized by simplicity, calmness, conciseness - and at the same time it has a special charm and expressiveness.

Typical room interior in scandinavian style e - bright, free space, solid, reliable pieces of furniture, cozy textiles and discreet decor.

Basic principles of Scandinavian design

  • Color. The interior is usually designed in light, cool colors - white, light gray, sky blue. Tones of natural wood, stone, sand and brown shades are used as additional ones in the design. Accent colors are deep blue, turquoise, yellow, red, black.
  • Materials. Natural materials or their high-quality imitations are used: stone, wood, ceramics, plaster. Textiles for interior design - natural: linen, cotton, jute.
  • Furniture. Wooden, simple-shaped furniture should be durable and solid even in appearance. Natural materials are used as upholstery - cotton, linen, leather, suede.
  • Decor. You can use simple elements of bright colors, or objects of complex shape, but calm tones, for example, a plaster white deer head with antlers above the fireplace - a decoration often found in interiors.

Living room: interior in Scandinavian style

The living room is the "face" of the house, showing the character of its inhabitants. In the design of the living room, items that do not fulfill a functional role, but serve as decoration, are acceptable. At the same time, the basic design rules remain the same: natural materials, light colors, traditional color combinations.

Tip: Since natural light is scarce in the Nordic countries, much attention is paid to artificial lighting. In the living room, floor lamps, sconces, table lamps, candles - any devices that increase illumination are welcome.

The photo shows a small living room in white. Project: Scandinavian apartment design in Sweden.

The main color of the style - white - is the best suited for the kitchen, as it creates a feeling of cleanliness and increases illumination, which is important for the room in which food is prepared. In kitchen design, as a rule, they try not to use blue tones, as they are believed to suppress appetite and affect the sensitivity of taste buds.

In a brick house, part of the kitchen walls can not be covered with plaster, but only painted white. Often this is done in the area where the work surface is located, then the brickwork acts as an apron. Scandinavian kitchen design implies that natural wood will be used for the floor, it is also desirable to make furniture and countertops from wood.

The main criterion for the design of the room is simplicity. Nothing should distract from the rest. The main decorative element is the wall near the head of the bed, but it should not be bright either. For example, a wall can be finished with wood if the rest are covered with plaster, while for both coatings one color is chosen - white or a light pastel shade of beige. The design of the bedroom will be complemented by textiles in deep colors or with national ornaments, as well as a carpet near the bed.

In the design of the children's room, it is necessary to take into account the needs of the child for a variety of experiences that contribute to his development. The light background of the walls makes it possible to demonstrate bright details, emphasizing their significance.

As an accent on a white wall, you can place a black board with a coating that allows you to draw on it with colored crayons - children are happy to paint the walls, and their drawings will play the role of color spots in the interior.

White walls can be decorated with bright vinyl stickers depicting fairy-tale characters - for the smallest, letters of the native alphabet - for first-graders, or favorite artists - for teenagers. Simple pieces of furniture can also be decorated with stickers or even painted in bright colors. Colorful patterns on textiles will also help to enliven the design and add individuality to it.

In the bathroom, cool "Northern" designs are very appropriate, giving a feeling of cleanliness and freshness. As an addition to white, which, as a rule, is the main color in sanitary facilities, deep blue is used. Bath textiles in accent colors complete the interior.

As in general for all style rooms, they try to use wood in the bathroom. The Scandinavian bathroom is also characterized by the use of wood. It is used to make sink underframes, bath screens, mirror frames, cabinets.

Colored tiles are used in surface finishing, with its help they zone the space - for example, part of the walls - in the wet area or near the toilet bowl - are laid out with an ornament of colored tiles or tiles with Scandinavian patterns. The design with wide ornamental stripes running from the floor to the walls and even to the ceiling looks fresh and original.

The design of your own house in Scandinavia provides for large windows to increase the illumination of the interiors and walls with good heat-insulating properties. Houses are mainly built of wood, stone houses are finished with wooden materials.

The Scandinavian style in the interior of a country house continues in its exterior - the forms are simple, concise, perhaps even rough, giving the impression of solidity and reliability. My house is my fortress: this is said about the houses of the northern peoples.

Photo interiors in the Scandinavian style

Below are photographs that reflect the main features of Scandinavian design in rooms for various purposes.

Photo 1. The main color in the interior of the Scandinavian kitchen-living room is white. It is complemented by light wood on the floor. The role of a decorative accent is assigned to textile elements.

Photo 2. In the laconic design of the white Scandinavian bedroom, the accent wall at the headboard is highlighted with white boards.

Photo 3. Dark gray furniture creates a contrast with the light floor, enlivening the interior.

Photo 4. The bright bedroom does not have an exquisite design, but it looks very original due to bright color additions and non-standard lamps.

Photo 5. The combination of two opposite colors - white and black - defines the rigid graphic design of the living room, the natural wood of the floor softens the interior, and the skin on the floor gives comfort.

Scandinavian style has become one of the most beloved styles in Russia in recent years. This is largely due to the fact that we, like the Scandinavians, know what a long winter, lack of light, small areas and the need to organize competent storage systems are. Scandinavian style knows how to solve all these problems and is able to do it in style.

Quartblog visited many times people who furnished their apartments according to the Swedish aesthetics, and today we decided to see how the spaces differ from each other with the same style. In we looked at the houses of families with children, and this time we will go to couples who still live together. All our heroes are united by the fact that they independently purchased their two-room apartments (however, one heroine turned a one-room space into a two-room apartment) and equipped them without the participation of a designer. This once again proves that the Scandinavian style is subject to many: even if you do not have a specialized design education, with proper study of the rules of style, you can create Swedish comfort in your home.

Which apartments will we consider:

  1. for economist Karina and her husband Yuri.
  2. for economist Yana and engineer Anatoly.
  3. for photographer Elena and presenter Alexey.

Hallway

There is an entrance hall in almost every house - it is she who creates the first impression when entering the house. All our heroes have thought of this space and made it interesting and functional.

1. There is one very unexpected detail in Karina and Yuri's apartment - a bright front door. It is she who sets the mood for the gray-white interior.

The blue front door was my dream. We made a bright door from the inside so as not to “injure” the neighbors. And the invariably bright color decorates our hallway and makes us happy when Yura and I are going to work or, conversely, returning home.

2. The entrance hall in Yana and Anatoly's apartment is black and white with geometric tiles on the floor. Behind the glass doors is a rather spacious dressing room, where all the things of our heroes and household appliances fit. The Home Sweet Home poster at the door is not only decorative, it also hides the power shield.

3. The entrance hall of Lena and Alexei is a narrow corridor, on one side of which there are cabinets and hangers, and on the other, a door to the bathroom. The color of the walls is not the most traditional Scandinavian style - coffee.

Kitchen

All kitchens are united by functionality and white color, so characteristic of the Scandinavian style.

1. Karina's kitchen area is 9 m 2. It was for this room that the heroine thought to hire a designer, but in the end she managed it herself. The kitchen set from Stylish Kitchens includes a built-in extractor hood, a wine cellar and even an ironing board. The turquoise table for the kitchen was made by craftswoman Daria Geiler: as in the case of the colored front door, one bright accent sets the mood for the whole room.

2. The kitchen area of Yana and Anatoly is only 5.5 m 2. Despite the fact that the room is devoid of natural light, it does not look dark or gloomy. Artificial lighting does a great job. All appliances are built in. In the closet opposite the hood there is a refrigerator and an oven, and on the bottom left there is a washing machine. Yana says that due to the fact that the cabinets are made right up to the ceiling, she still has a supply of free space that can be filled if necessary.

3. In the apartment of Lena and Alexei, the kitchen is combined with the living room, dining room and "office". Having removed the extra walls, the guys got a single large space that solves many problems. The kitchen set was ordered from IKEA.

Bedroom

One of the rooms in a two-room apartment is traditionally assigned to a bedroom. So did all our heroes.

1. The area of Karina and Yuri's bedroom is about 15 m2. Our heroes have thought of a lot of storage space in this room: a closet, bookshelves and a place under the bed. Also, Karina's long-standing desire is realized here - a wide window sill where you can sit.

As you can see, in the hallway and kitchen, the main accents are turquoise, but here it is sunny yellow. Karina repainted the bedside tables herself.

2. Initially, the apartment was a rectangle without walls with two large windows. Yana faced the question of how to harmoniously organize the space and delimit the zones. I really wanted to allocate a separate bedroom with a window for 40 m2, but it would block all the natural light in the kitchen. However, it was decided to sacrifice sunlight in favor of a place where you can retire. So a separate bedroom of 8 m 2 appeared. It fit a bed 1.6 m wide, a spacious chest of drawers and a small bedside table.

3. The bedroom of Lena and Aleksey is made in soothing spring colors. Our heroes saw the headboard made of louvered doors on Pinterest and made it on their own, painting it the same color as the bedside tables. There are drawers under the bed and closet next to the door.

Living room

1. Karina and Yuri have a kitchen as a living room. They left the second room for the future nursery and have not yet furnished it.

2. Yana and Anatoly have not yet fully equipped the living room either. Missing details and paintings on the wall. However, near the window overlooking Krasnogorsk there is a dining room, which can be attributed to the living room.

3. As we have already said, in Lena and Alexei's cozy Scandinavian kopeck piece, one room combines several zones at once. Lena and Lesha are very fond of receiving guests, so they bought a round table that unfolds.

bathroom

1. The most interesting visual solution in the bathroom of Karina and Yuri is an accent wall with patterned tiles. And practical - a device for drying clothes over the bath.

2. Yana's bathroom is different from the general style of the apartment. It is made not in the Scandinavian style, but in a modern one, with elements of pop art style. It all started with a bright yellow alarm clock that the owner of the apartment fell in love with. The alarm clock added bright details in the form of a rug, towels, a “We can do it” / “We can do it” poster (friends joke that this is the perfect slogan to put in the toilet) and a red curtain. It is worth noting that the toilet bowl and the brush are suspended. This solution allows you to quickly tidy up.

3. The bathroom in the apartment of Lena and Alexei is separate. Our heroes believe that they made a mistake with the choice of tiles: they are too easily soiled and difficult to care for. Initially, they made white seams, which got dirty very soon, and Alexei redid them himself.

In the restroom, niches are thought out for storing household chemicals and appliances.

Walking through three Scandinavian apartments of young couples, we can conclude that despite the fact that they are decorated in the same style, all rooms look very different: Swedish aesthetics make it possible to experiment, add bright colors and create coziness in any area.

1. Properly zone the space. A small apartment requires a careful approach to the design of the kitchen, living room, bedroom and office. Let all rooms have a common base - for example, white trim, but each zone has its own accents, color or decor.
2. Save with imagination. If you're on a budget, try to complement your inexpensive furniture with some really original decor. Carpets, posters or decorative tiles will help with this.

3. Make furniture to order. Ready-made furniture of democratic brands can form the basis of a set, but it is better to complement the design with author's products. You can even do something with your own hands from improvised materials - a coffee table from an old suitcase, a bedside table from a stool, or any other piece of furniture that your imagination has enough for. 4. Turn on your sense of humor. An apartment is not a featureless office space, here you should fully and with pleasure relax. Why not decorate the kitchen with a "portrait" of a deer, and the bathroom with a tile crossword puzzle if it cheers you up?

5. Follow the light. Recessed lights are a good way to save space in a small space, but keep in mind that the ceiling will have to be lowered for this, which is not acceptable in apartments with low walls.

Modern design in Scandinavian style looks concise and tasteful. Despite its popularity, gray in design is often perceived as uncomfortable and cold.

But if you still want a light and soothing color scheme, pay attention to the Scandinavian style, which is also great for small apartments.

An important advantage of this style is the reliability and practicality of each thing. The room should have enough storage space: racks, drawers, niches, shelves or cabinets. In a home where everything has its place, avoiding clutter is much easier.

Scandinavian style apartment

To design a Scandinavian living room, you should use a minimum of furniture and decor. Curtains are usually missing or pushed back so that they do not interfere with the rays of light and the flow of fresh air into the house.

Cool colors can be diluted with cream or yellowish shades, as well as rich green or light wooden elements. As for furniture, only the most necessary things should be present in the apartment.

A chalk board will look great in the kitchen, on which you can write notes or reminders to loved ones. Scandinavian style also involves the presence of a large amount of light. Often in one kitchen you can immediately see all types of lighting.

Shades of blue and gray are hallmarks of Scandinavian design. Blue color is best used as accents - a blanket, bedspread, carpet or towel. Even small things like candle holders or candles can be a lighter or darker shade of blue. Yellow color will help to update the space and bring a joyful mood.

The most important element in the apartment, which can become a key and transform the look of the room, is a chandelier.

Scandinavian-style chandeliers have the most simple design, but their appearance is distinguished by elegance and versatility. Classic floor lamps or lanterns with a metal frame will look very stylish.

The traditional material in the hallway in the Scandinavian style is wood. If a free wall appeared in the hallway, not paintings are placed on it, but shelves for storing various little things.

As a rule, the floors are left open here, but if you wish, you can lay one small rug with a pattern.

If you want your child's room to be filled with light and seem more spacious, a Scandinavian-style nursery will be a win-win material. In addition, such an interior can be designed as a universal one.
