Pumps

The Alfa Laval range of pumps covers the entire range of gentle and precise pumping of liquids of all kinds and viscosities in hygienic applications.

Application

The SolidC pump is designed for pumping liquids for cleaning in place (CIP), water for heating, refrigeration and other process purposes, as well as in washing machines and just in pipeline systems within operating range. SolidC is suitable for use in the food, dairy, pharmaceutical, light chemical, beverage, hygiene and water supply industries.

Typical design

The SolidC pump consists of a standard motor, self-centering shaft, mechanical compression coupling, adapter, backplate, impeller, shaft seals and casing.

Due to the large radii of curvature of the internal surfaces and the use of washable seals, the pump is suitable for cleaning in place (CIP).

The SolidC pump has a stainless steel casing to cover the motor and four feet adjustable height from stainless steel.

Shaft seals

The SolidC pump is available with an external single (SSS) or flushed (FSS) shaft seal. Both types of seals consist of stationary sealing rings made of AISI 329 acid resistant stainless steel with a silicon carbide (SIC) sealing face and rotating sealing rings with a graphite face (C). The secondary part of the flushed seal is a long life stuffing box.

Application
SRU series rotary pumps are widely applied in brewery, dairy, food, pharmaceutical and chemical industry. They are capable of pumping fluids of varying viscosity, from low to high, are suitable for cleaning in place (CIP) and meet the requirements of the US 3A standard for sanitary qualities. Due to their low shear force and smooth rotation of the rotors, these pumps are ideal for pumping products such as creams, gels, emulsions, aerated mixtures, as well as suspensions sensitive to mechanical stress of cells and organic particles. SRU pumps are compact and highly efficient. They develop flow up to 106 m3/h and pressure up to 20 bar. New advanced modular design provides versatility, simplicity and low cost Maintenance.

Typical design Transmission The SRU is a traditional rotary pump design with a rugged cast iron gear for maximum shaft stability and easy oil seal replacement. Series 1 - 4 SRU models are equipped with a box with a universal housing design that allows mounting both vertically and vertically. horizontal arrangement nozzles, depending on the selected support. Series 5 and 6 SRU models feature a gearbox with a special housing design that also allows for both vertical and horizontal piping. Outside, the gearbox is coated with an anti-corrosion coating (epoxy paint).
Own pump
SRU pumps are equipped as standard with full bore inlet and outlet connections that meet sanitary requirements and international standards, which guarantees low pressure losses and a high NPSH of the pump. For pumping products with very high viscosity, pumps can be equipped with extended nozzles and nozzles rectangular section. The SRU pump has a three-lobe rotor as standard. At the request of the customer, the pump can be equipped with a two-lobe rotor designed for pumping media with large particles that are sensitive to mechanical loads.
