All about the service in the riot police. Jobs in OMON. How much do they get in riot police

Those who are naturally endowed with physical strength and endurance often think about working in law enforcement agencies - in particular, in OMON. What can you expect when agreeing to such a job, and what should not be expected? Is it really so prestigious and profitable, or do the disadvantages still outweigh the advantages?

pros

  • No exorbitant requirements. As you know, law enforcement officers must have good physical fitness. In order to enter the service in the OMON, it is enough to be at least 175 cm tall, have a strong body and be under 25 years old. Military service in the army is mandatory. It is also necessary to have a complete absence of a criminal record, the presence of characteristics from an educational institution and a previous employer.
  • Lack of "labor". There are 160 OMON detachments throughout Russia, no more than 40,000 employees. In fact, there are cities in which this power structure is not developed at all. Of course, this does not mean that it will be easier to get there - they still don’t take everyone there at once, and anyway, the competition will be less than, say, in the police or even the fire department.
  • Social benefits. Although there are not as many social benefits as we would like, they do exist. In fact, OMON-sheep have the same benefits as employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. For example, due to the fact that the health of OMON sheep must be at the highest level, they are treated for free, including for serious diseases. If an employee is injured in the line of duty, they will immediately help him - and, of course, they will also give him a sick leave. In addition, the annual number of vacation days for riot police officers is greater than for employees of other services.
  • Regular physical activity. Despite the fact that the riot police, it would seem, do not always have work (not every day there are riots on the streets), they never sit idle. Regular training, exercise, business trips, military exercises in different conditions help to stay in shape. The need to solve various kinds of tasks (both law enforcement and the fight against actual violations of the order) also makes both body and mind tense.
  • Salary stability. Despite the fact that the salary is relatively low, it is paid regularly. The amount of salary from month to month also does not change. The level of pensions for OMON officers is also higher than for representatives of other professions, and the retirement age, due to harmfulness, is lower.
  • Visible well-being. If at least one person is told that “I work in the OMON”, it is likely that he will be surprised, because it sounds very prestigious. Moreover, if you put on an outfit and go, say, to guard the park during public festivities, many will look at you with respect and even fear. Yes, it's a little, and yet - sometimes it's nice.

disadvantages

  • Low salary. Despite the fact that the profession is directly related to the risk to life, the salaries of riot police are not as high as it might seem. Even in Moscow, the minimum wage ranges from 35,000 to 40,000 rubles - the cost varies depending on the term and region of service. It seems to some that for a profession directly related to risks to life, this is not the highest salary.
  • Lack of collateral. Bureaucracy is a problem for many state organizations in Russia, and OMON is no exception. During the service, you will have to fill out a lot of paperwork and make a lot of cash contributions to the general budget - at the expense of your salary. In addition, the form will have to buy on their own.
  • Irregular schedule. OMON officers never know when they will have to "take to the streets." They suspect, of course, they are preparing, and, nevertheless, no one has canceled emergencies. At such moments, it is necessary to be able to cope with stress and do your job - this can negatively affect your mental state.
  • Danger to life. Despite the fact that OMON officers are given all the necessary equipment - from equipment to weapons - no one is immune from physical injuries. Of course, the higher the physical fitness, the higher the chance to be in perfect order - but who knows what will happen tomorrow?
  • Bad organization. More than once or twice, discussions of a well-known interview published in 2015 appeared on Internet forums - an OMON officer anonymously reported that the organization was disgusting, “no one knows how to shoot”, everyone uses only batons, a lot is deducted from wages, in As a result, the employees themselves have no money left. And, moreover, the key idea of the interview hero was that no one likes to serve in the riot police, and that if there are serious unrest, everyone will start defending themselves and their interests, and not what the detachment, in theory, was originally assembled for. Few began to argue with this - perhaps this is also a reason to think.
  • Inability to get housing. Under Russian law, OMON officers are not eligible to apply for military mortgages. They can own their own housing only if they received it during their military service. Separate programs for employees exist, but their conditions are considered to be much worse than those of civilian programs. Before receiving an apartment, you have to live in a provided hostel
  • Family difficulties. Everyone knows that if a husband regularly travels on business trips, his wife will not be happy about this, just as their children will not be happy either. And, nevertheless, without this, nowhere - the constant trip to the exercises, on military trips makes the OMON officers part with their families for the sake of "duty". Some families can't handle it. Yes, and the employees themselves often say that when problems begin in the family, OMON sheep cannot do their job properly - therefore, they do not recommend getting married.

Output

Work in the OMON, as in any other professional field, requires a responsible approach to business. You can't make a lot of money with just a big body. Nevertheless, with such an advantage in hand, one can hope for a successful professional career - and this is already a lot.

The riot police take active police officers from other units by transfer or from a "citizen" immediately. As a rule, they are first hired as a fighter.

Cop Fighter

Previously, this position was called "policeman-fighter of the operational company." This is a normal employee. Growth - to the senior ensign. Requirements - passing standards and compliance with standard requirements. Preference is given to those who served in the elite troops (intelligence, special forces, airborne forces), have real combat experience (meaning those who were on business trips in the North Caucasus while serving in the army), or a sports category (preferably in martial arts - boxing, sambo, judo, hand-to-hand combat). Subsequently, you can transfer to another position. If you have a higher education, then you can count on officer positions. The salary starts from 30,000 - 35,000 rubles in the regions and 45,000 in Moscow. When applying for a job in Moscow or the Moscow region, a hostel is provided free of charge - there are always not enough employees in the capital.

Driver

There is a lot of equipment in mobile special-purpose units: ordinary UAZs, paziks, Urals. Therefore, there are many drivers there, and vacancies appear often. There are fewer physical requirements for them. so there are more chances to get a job. The salary is the same as that of the fighters.

Squad/platoon/company leader. Officer positions begin with them. They take only OMON officers - only in exceptional cases by transfer from other units. There must be good reasons for this. The salary is higher than that of the fighters by 10-15 thousand, and the difference between the pay ranks is already more significant. They also take part in all the tasks of the detachment, only paperwork is added to this.

Engineering vacancies

There are sappers, communications engineers, etc. in the OMON. as in any army units. There are few of them, they are rarely released, so they usually get in line. The salary is even higher there. From the non-officer staff - sappers, cynologists. Cynologists are often sent to study existing employees in special training centers.

Jobs for girls

For the fair sex, there is also a place in this "male" division. Girls can count on the positions of personnel officers, psychologists, management secretaries, accountants.

There are three search options. The first is the simplest and most reliable.

1. Call Human Resources

It's best to just call and ask if there are vacancies. Contact information for HR departments can be found on the contact page.

2. On the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of your region

Type in the search engine “official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs *your region*” and go to the “Jobs” section there. But such portals sometimes sin in that the information may not be entirely up to date. Therefore, the first option is better.

3. On job search sites.

Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also place ads on regular job search sites: hh.ru, superjob.ru, rabota.ru and the like. You can go to any of them and enter “policeman”, “riot police” or “fighter” in the search box and click find. All matching positions will be displayed. You can also send your resume there. Even if you responded on the site, be sure to duplicate the response with a call. This is necessary because some personnel officers rarely check email + if you call, it will set you apart from others who responded and your resume will definitely not be missed.

OMON is a special forces detachment. The one who is in the service must be mobile and ready to strictly act on the orders of the leader. For some reason, the soldiers who came from the army believe that they are ready to join the ranks of the OMON right now, but for this it is necessary to undergo training, a competition, pass a high-level test and be distinguished by a special psycho-emotional mood.

For a better understanding of whether it is worth going to the OMON after the army, it does not interfere with understanding the main task of the special forces - not to solve crimes, but to ensure law and order on the streets of Russian cities, to stop mass uprisings and devastation. For example, if there was a hurricane, an earthquake, or a fire broke out, the riot police will respond quickly and impartially.

If the police officers enter the battle, the riot police provide them with high-quality cover and protection, which can be seen during the delay of especially dangerous criminals or terrorist attacks, the suppression of prison riots, and the release of hostages. The conditions in which OMON is forced to work are always urgent and unpredictable. People working in the special squad must be aware of the importance of their activities and be good cogs in the whole well-functioning defense mechanism, important for the whole country.

Arbitrariness, unauthorized decision-making that does not comply with the order of the commander is unacceptable for employees. It is scary, dangerous, the understanding that death can overtake at any time - all this is there, but the fighter continues to move on, protecting his homeland and the Russians with his chest.

That is why, when soldiers die during a mission, he is awarded the Order of the Hero of Russia posthumously.

Qualities of an riot policeman

To understand whether a former soldier who served in the army can become an OMON officer in the future, you need to realistically assess your qualities and compare them with the requirements for the composition of a special squad:

  • An riot policeman cannot be physically weak, his work requires endurance, strength, endurance and impeccable physical fitness;
  • without courage anywhere;
  • loyalty to comrades is one of the important components;
  • among the skills, the ability to master the technique of hand-to-hand combat is distinguished, including the ability to easily wield a knife if necessary;
  • the employee must be able to shoot;
  • work together with other employees, together, adhering to the task.

Is it possible to get into the OMON after the army - the opinion of experts

OMON provides experience in military service. It is desirable that you are not just a reserve soldier, but become an officer or warrant officer. It will not be superfluous to have a military education and service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the police behind them.

There are a lot of those who want to try their hand at OMON in Russia among young men and men. Therefore, the first advice is to choose a direction and follow it steadily. A step-by-step instruction for a soldier to enroll in the ranks of the OMON looks like this:

  1. Try to get into the intelligence service, the Airborne Forces or the FSB.
  2. To do this, you must have an education, preferably graduate from a military university.
  3. Some special forces accept cadets only with a maroon beret.
  4. During the service, you need to prove yourself from the very best side - the more achievements and positive recommendations, the more chances for success.
  5. Along with all the awards, knowledge of a foreign language will not be superfluous. The riot policeman is a highly educated and intellectually developed employee, some of them are even included in intelligence units.

Law enforcement activities, namely special forces, are available in Moscow, Orenburg, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg and other cities of Russia, they also teach military destiny in special educational institutions.

How to pass physical training

Admission to the special forces provides for tests that will determine whether the applicant is suitable for work in the OMON or not:

  1. Running for a distance of 100 m.
  2. Cross, designed for 3 km.
  3. Push-ups in the supine position on the floor on outstretched arms or from the uneven bars.
  4. Pull-ups.
  5. Flexion and extension.
  6. Jumping up from the squat.

All these standards are surrendered immediately, the rest between the standards is clearly limited - no more than 5 minutes, or even 3 minutes. As soon as testing is given, the contestant is offered to try his hand at hand-to-hand combat with an experienced instructor, he has 3 rounds. Passive defense is not welcome by default, an active position is needed.

What achievements in sports can significantly affect the adoption of a positive decision on enrolling an applicant in the ranks of the OMON?

  1. Bit related to wrestling, boxing, martial arts.
  2. Achievements and prize-winning places in athletics.
  3. Merit in mountaineering.
  4. Experience in rowing, biathlon, parachuting, swimming.
  5. The riot police cannot do without shooting either.

OMON health

If SARS or acute respiratory infections flash at least occasionally in your outpatient card, you can forget about OMON, especially if you have chronic ailments. Selection for the army cannot be compared with selection for special forces, the requirements are completely different. Even an incorrect bite can be a reason for refusing to be included in the riot police.

Psychological testing occupies a separate position. Psychologists work with young guys, they also determine stress resistance, and then, based on the collected results, they come to a single conclusion.
