Requirements for the installation of a mounted gas boiler. Why Ariston wall-mounted gas boilers are good: a detailed review. List of mandatory functions in heating equipment

The premises in which the gas boiler will operate are stipulated in SNiP 31-02-2001, DBN V.2.5-20-2001, SNiP II-35-76, SNiP 42-01-2002 and SP 41-104-2000 - these documents exclude or minimize any emergencies. Premises for placing gas boilers fall under the classification of fire and explosives, therefore, when designing, planning, installing and setting up gas heating equipment, all requirements for a room for installing a gas boiler must be strictly observed.

General requirements for the installation of gas appliances

In the room intended for the installation of a gas boiler, according to the above standards, there must be good natural lighting: 1 m 3 must have at least 0.03 m 2 of the window opening area (but not windows - partitions, frames and imposts are not taken into account). It is imperative to equip the room with a supply and exhaust ventilation system according to the following rules: the total volume of forward and reverse air flows per hour, multiplied by 3, is equal to the volume of the entire exhaust device. In addition to a window equipped with a window, a door with access to the street is installed in the room. The table shows the requirements for the volume of the room:

Attention!

For gas-fired units with a power of more than 6000 W, add 0.2 m3 for each extra unit of power.

Supervisory requirements for the room for the installation of a gas boiler stipulate that it is allowed to operate any appliances for heating an apartment on every floor of a multi-storey building and in any room of an apartment. Kitchens in multi-storey buildings are also suitable for these requirements, since they are already equipped with appropriate communications. The only condition is that the total thermal power of all devices for heating water and heating an apartment (boilers, boilers, heating elements, heating radiators, batteries or registers) should not exceed 150 kW in total.

Indoor ceiling heights - 2 meters or more. The room in which the gas boiler will be installed and operated must be separated from the neighboring rooms by capital fireproof walls. The material for walls or partitions should have a time limit of fire resistance of 0.75 hours (45 minutes). The boiler room must be planned so that in the event of a fire in operation, there is no possibility for the fire to spread throughout the apartment.

Attention!

Gas boilers of the TLO brand, operating on the principle of natural circulation of the coolant, can be installed and should be operated only in the basement of the house or in the basement rooms.

Installation of a gas wall-mounted boiler - requirements for the kitchen

  1. The ceiling is 2 meters or more.
  2. The total volume of the kitchen is more than 7.5 m 3, ventilation is equipped, a window is installed and there is a door leading to the balcony.
  3. For air exchange, it is necessary to equip a grate at the bottom of a wall or door that goes into an adjacent room, the area of the grate is at least 0.02 m 2.

To install a gas boiler in the kitchen, a permit from the gas service may be required.

If the kitchen in the apartment does not meet the requirements of SNiP, then gas heating equipment can be installed and operated only with the permission of the gas supervision.

The existing rules for installing a gas boiler in a private house largely repeat the requirements for boilers that work in apartments of multi-storey buildings. The differences are caused only by the fact that often in a private house a separate room or building is allocated for heating equipment, to which the additional requirements listed below are imposed.

Rules for installing a floor-standing gas boiler

  1. In a house under construction, it is necessary to plan a separate room for the installation of a gas-fired boiler. The room should be with natural air flow through the grill in the door or through the hole in the wall.
  2. A separate hole for supply and exhaust ventilation must be made - it must be located under the ceiling.
  3. A hole in the wall for a chimney, a hole below the chimney for soot (for cleaning the chimney), which is made 20-30 cm below the main chimney.
  4. The chimney is made sealed so that smoke and carbon dioxide do not get back into the room. For tightness, a smaller diameter pipe is installed inside the large chimney pipe, through which the products of gas combustion are removed.
  5. The room intended for the installation and operation of the gas boiler must be spacious and provide free access and operation, maintenance and repair of the boiler. The floor in the furnace must be made of non-combustible materials - concrete screed, natural stone, paving stones. The furnace must be connected to the water supply for the operation of the water heater, and be equipped with a sewer.
  6. The area of the boiler room is 4 m 2, the ceiling height in the room is at least 2.5 m 2.
  7. The outer door should be 80 cm wide.
  8. The top of the chimney must be above the roof. The chimney section must be larger than the diameter of the boiler outlet.
  9. To supply power, the boiler room must be equipped with an electrical panel with grounding.
  10. The gas main is brought into the room in advance. A separate valve must be installed for each gas appliance.
  11. The walls of the boiler room are plastered - it is strictly forbidden to decorate the walls with combustible materials (MDF, fiberboard, plastic).

It is forbidden to store flammable liquids and objects near the furnace and in the room itself. The foundation underneath (a gas heating unit or a gas water heating unit) should not freeze in winter, therefore its depth should be lower than the level of soil freezing in the region. The air from the ventilation opening must be clean, that is, the chimney must be located far from the ventilation opening. The room or building in which the gas boiler is installed cannot be equipped for other purposes.

Rules for installing wall-mounted gas boilers in an apartment

Usually, in an apartment, a gas boiler is installed in the kitchen, since a gas main has already been brought into it, there is a water supply and sewerage system. That is, a priori, all the requirements for the installation of gas equipment have already been met - it remains only to connect the boiler. This state of affairs automatically reduces the cost of laying utilities and energy resources. It is forbidden to install a gas boiler in rooms with high humidity - in a bathroom, laundry, etc.

There are several additional requirements for wall-hung boilers:

  1. The wall or partition for hanging the boiler must be able to support it - the equipment must not be suspended from a plasterboard or other lightweight partition.
  2. If the wall is decorated with combustible materials (wallpaper, vinyl, plastic, MDF, fiberboard), then a 3 mm thick non-combustible gasket is installed between the wall. At the same time, the boiler must be fastened with special hardware, which provides a distance from the boiler body to the wall of at least 4-5 cm.
  3. The minimum distance from the boiler to the ceiling and walls of the room is 0.5 meters. The distance from the boiler to the floor is 0.8 meters.

Before installing and starting up gas equipment, you must obtain all relevant documents. The main condition for installing a boiler in a private house that runs on gas is that first an agreement is concluded on connecting the gas main, and a project is drawn up for the installation of gas equipment and gasification of the house. These documents are developed and approved by the gas supplier in the region.

Gas remains the cheapest type of fuel so far. Accordingly, the cheapest heating is obtained precisely on natural gas. True, the installation of a gas boiler is associated with certain difficulties - the premises must comply with fire safety standards.

For the installation of powerful gas boilers, a separate room is required

Gas boiler installation standards

So that there are no troubles when putting the gas boiler into operation, you must select the installation site in accordance with the current regulations. The installation of a gas boiler in a private house (single-family or locked) is regulated by SNiP 31-02-2001, and the rules for installation in apartment buildings are spelled out in SNiP 2.08.01.

For private houses

According to the norms, the gas boiler can be installed in a ventilated room, which is located:

  • on the first floor of the house;
  • in the basement or basement;
  • in the attic:
  • gas boilers up to 35 kW (according to MDS 41.2-2000 up to 60 kW) can be installed in the kitchen.

With regard to the installation of boilers in the kitchen, two standards currently apply at once. According to one document, heating devices with a capacity of no more than 35 kW can be placed, according to another - no more than 60 kW. And we are only talking about heating devices. Gas stoves or other appliances using gas are not counted.

How to proceed? You need to find out what standards are adhered to in your GorGaz. After all, it is their representatives who will take the equipment into operation. Actually, the designer should tell you all the subtleties, but it is also advisable to know this - you will need to prepare the room for installation.

Where to put

Now about where and how you can locate gas equipment of different capacities. It will be about gas boilers and their power is summed up:

  • with power up to 150 kW inclusive - in a separate room on any floor, including in the basement and basement;
  • from 151 kW to 350 kW inclusive - in a separate room of the first, basement or basement floor, as well as in a separate attached room.

More powerful installations are not used in private houses.

Requirements for kitchens in which a gas boiler is installed

When placing a flow-through gas water heater or a gas heating boiler with a capacity of up to 60 kW in the kitchen, the room must comply with the following standards:

There is one more, which is not spelled out in the norms, but which exists: the installation of a gas boiler is allowed only in a room with doors. In light of the latest trends - removing partitions and doing instead of doors - this can be a problem. Without a door, permission will not be signed. The way out is to put or. Another option is glass doors. They do not "load" the interior, but they are perceived precisely as doors.

All these requirements must be fulfilled. With violations, you simply will not sign an acceptance certificate.

Requirements for individual rooms

They are similar, but there are some differences:

  • Ceiling height - not less than 2.5 m;
  • The volume and area of the premises are determined by ease of maintenance, but should not be less than 15 m 3.
  • Walls leading to adjacent rooms must have a fire resistance limit of 0.75 hours and a zero limit for the spread of fire along the structure (brick, concrete, building blocks).
  • Exhaust hood with the same requirements: for outflow - three times exchange, for inflow in the same volume, plus air for combustion.
  • There should be a window in the room. Glass area - not less than 0.03 m 2 per one cubic meter of volume.

If the equipment is installed with a capacity of 150 kW or more, one of the prerequisites is access to the street. A second exit can be equipped - to a utility room (not residential). It could be a pantry or a hallway. Doors must be fireproof.

Please note that when calculating windows, the area of glass is considered, and not the dimensions of the window opening. Moreover, in some cases, at least one glass with an area of at least 0.8 square meters is required. If it is problematic to enlarge the windows, you can make a similar window in the door (the regulation does not say that it should be in the wall).

How to attach boiler rooms

Sometimes there is no way to allocate a separate room in the house. In this case, the boiler room is attached. The norms for the height of ceilings, volume, glazing and ventilation remain the same as for individual rooms, only specific norms are added:

Please note that the extension must be registered. No one will supply gas to you without official documents. And one more thing: when designing it, lay all the norms without deviations, otherwise they will not accept it. If the installation of a gas boiler is planned in an existing room, they may close their eyes to some deviations or offer some compensation (if there is a lack of volume or ceiling height, they may be asked to increase the glazing area). There are no such discounts for newly constructed buildings (and outbuildings too): they must contain all the standards.

United kitchens

Today it has become fashionable to have or. It turns out a single large space in which it is easy to implement design ideas. But, the gas service regards such a room as residential and prohibits the installation of gas equipment.

It will not be possible to solve the problem with a studio apartment, but with a combined one there is a way out. If you are just planning to combine the kitchen and living room, when you draw up the documents, name the resulting room as a kitchen-dining room. This area is not residential, so there will be no restrictions. If the papers have already been issued, you can try to redo them or go the other way - install a sliding partition. True, in this case, reworking of documents will be required.

Place for installing a gas boiler

Speaking specifically about apartments, gas boilers are installed in them mostly in kitchens. There are all the necessary communications here: water supply, gas, there is a window and an extractor hood. All that remains is to determine a suitable place for the boiler. For such an installation, wall-mounted (hinged) boilers are used. They are installed on several hooks fixed to the walls (usually included).

As for the installation in other premises of an apartment or house, as a rule, none of them meets the requirements. For example, the bathroom does not have a window with natural light, the corridor usually does not fit in size - there are not enough tolerances from the corners or to the opposite wall, there is usually no ventilation at all or it is inadequate. The same problem is with storage rooms - there is no ventilation and windows, there is not enough volume.

If the house has a staircase to the second floor, often the owners want to put the boiler under the stairs or in this room. In terms of volume, it usually passes, but in terms of ventilation, it will have to be made very powerful - the volume is considered in two levels and it is necessary to ensure its threefold exchange. This will require several pipes (three or more) of a very large cross-section (at least 200 mm).

After deciding on a room for installing a gas boiler, it remains to find a place for it. It is selected based on the type of boiler (wall-mounted or floor-standing) and the manufacturer's requirements. The data sheet usually details the distances from the wall to the right / left, the installation height relative to the floor and ceiling, as well as the distance from the front surface to the opposite wall. They may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, so it is worth reading the manual carefully.

Installation standards according to SNiP

  • Gas boilers can be installed on fireproof walls at a distance of at least 2 cm from it.
  • If the wall is hardly combustible or combustible (wooden, frame, etc.) it must be protected with non-combustible material. It can be a three-millimeter sheet of asbestos, on top of which a sheet of metal is fixed. Also, for protection, a plaster layer with a layer of at least 3 cm is considered.In this case, the boiler must be hung at a distance of 3 cm.The dimensions of the non-combustible material should exceed the dimensions of the boiler by 10 cm from the sides and bottom, and from above should be 70 cm larger.

Questions may arise regarding asbestos sheet: today it is recognized as a material hazardous to health. You can replace it with a layer of mineral wool cardboard. And also keep in mind that ceramic tiles are also considered a fireproof base, even if they are laid on wooden walls: a layer of glue and ceramics just give the required fire resistance.

The installation of a gas boiler relative to the side walls is also regulated. If the wall is non-combustible, the distance cannot be less than 10 cm. For flammable and hard-to-combustible materials, this distance is 25 cm (without additional protection).

If a floor-standing gas boiler is installed, the base must be non-combustible. A non-combustible stand is made on the wooden floor. It should provide a fire resistance limit of 0.75 hours (45 minutes). These are either bricks laid on spoons (1/4 of a brick) or thick ceramic floor tiles that are laid on top of an asbestos sheet fixed to a metal sheet. The dimensions of the non-combustible warp are 10 cm larger than the dimensions of the installed boiler.

Gas boilers Ariston appeared on the Russian heating market among the first. Largely thanks to its world-famous brand, this Italian manufacturer of gas heating equipment quickly managed to "win" a domestic buyer and achieve high sales dynamics.

The Ariston gas boiler, the owners' reviews of which help to better decide on the purchase, we can often find on different sites and in online stores. The modern set of functions and good design, good technical characteristics and a large selection of models are a clear advantage when buying a device, even though the prices are somewhat overpriced.

But today we will consider not only the pros, but also the disadvantages of Ariston mounted boilers, having studied their structure and features of the models, using the operating instructions, photos, customer and professional reviews.

Lineup of wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers Ariston

The Italian manufacturer is represented on the Russian market by a fairly wide range of wall-mounted gas boilers. We can find Ariston gas boilers, double-circuit and single-circuit, traditional and condensing, with and without a storage boiler.

In addition, like most competitors, Ariston gas heating boilers are available with a closed combustion chamber (turbocharged) and with an open one (atmospheric). For devices with forced draft, the chimney outlet is provided horizontally through the wall, having additionally bought a special one for it with a pipe diameter of 60/100 mm.

Gas boilers Ariston: model range

Today, the Italian company produces several modifications of its traditional double-circuit gas boilers:

- Ariston BS 15 FF, 24 FF and 24 II;

- Ariston Cares X 15 CF and 15 FF, 18 FF, 24 CF and 24FF;

- Ariston HS 15 CF and 15 FF, 18 FF, 24 CF and 24FF;

- Ariston Clas X 24 FF, 28 FF and 24 CF;

- Ariston Egis Plus and Premium;

- Ariston Genus X;

- Ariston Alteas X.

Single-circuit gas boiler Ariston with the ability to connect an indirect heating boiler is represented by only one model "Ariston Cares X System" with a capacity of 15 to 32 kW with closed and open combustion chambers.

Ariston double-circuit gas boilers are produced with a capacity of 15, 18, 24 and 28 kW. The most popular modification is a 24 kW device that can heat a house with an area of up to 200-230 m2. Turbocharged boilers are named FF, atmospheric boilers CF.

Features of the gas boiler Ariston Cares X: instructions, device

Ariston Cares X 24FF

This model is one of the budget in the price segment up to 35,000 rubles, and due to this the most popular, judging by the number of reviews from the owners of the Ariston boiler. But even for a small amount, the buyer gets a modern wall-mounted gas boiler that has a nice appearance, button control and an LCD display, as well as a whole range of necessary functions.

As in all models of Ariston wall-mounted gas boilers, the Cares X series devices are equipped with: a circulation pump of the brand Wilo with automatic air vent and gas valve SIT... In addition, they are equipped with a boiler safety group and an 8 liter diaphragm expansion vessel.

Gas boiler "Ariston Cares X" has two heat exchangers: the main copper with an aluminum coating for the heating circuit and a compact stainless steel secondary for the DHW circuit. The capacity of this secondary heat exchanger for the 24 kW Ariston Cares X 24 FF (CF) models is 13.6 l / min. Consider the device of a double-circuit gas boiler Ariston Cares X 24 FF NG:

Double-circuit gas boiler Ariston

1 - outlet for a coaxial chimney;
2 - pneumatic relay;
3 - condensate collector;
4 - the main heat exchanger for heating;
6 and 19 - temperature sensors at the inlet and outlet of the heating circuit;
7 - gas burner Polidoro;
8 - ignition electrodes;
9 - secondary heat exchanger for hot water supply;
10 - gas valve SIT;
11 - safety valve for 3 bars;
12 - ignition block;
13 - manometer;
14 - tap for feeding the heating system;
15 - filter;
16 - DHW flow sensor;
17 - circulation pump Wilo;
18 - pressure switch;
20 - three-way valve drive;
21 - burner flame control sensor;
22 - combustion chamber;
23 - expansion tank;
24 - fan (turbine).

Summer-winter mode and room thermostat help reduce gas costs. In summer, the boiler can only work on the DHW circuit, in winter, the device works economically thanks to a modulating gas burner. The room thermostat is not included in the boiler package, but you can always buy it separately.

Boilers of this series have in their device temperature sensors installed on the "supply" and "return", flowing water temperature, flame and draft control sensors. In addition, the devices are equipped with a security system: protection against low water pressure, a function of protection against freezing of the system and its overheating.

The Ariston gas boiler is adapted to Russian conditions, such as voltage drops in the power grid, weak gas pressure and low air temperature outside the window. But, even despite this, the manufacturer himself recommends connecting the boiler through.

This recommendation applies not only to boilers of this brand, but also to other wall-mounted gas boilers of any manufacturer. If the electronic board of the boiler suddenly fails due to a power surge, then this case will not be considered a warranty.

Ariston's range today includes 3 models of double-circuit gas boilers to provide residential buildings with heating and hot water supply. For premises less than 200 m2, the BS II model is offered, and for areas 200-350 m2 BS II, EGIS PLUS and CLAS B.

The advantage of the devices is the cost of generating heat in comparison with all other types of boilers. The disadvantage is the need for a central gas supply system and a constant power supply.

Gas boilers are suitable for heating and hot water supply in residential apartments and country houses, being a cheaper alternative to central heating.

General characteristics of boilers

Familiarity with the characteristics is necessary for the correct selection of the device model:

  • Execution - floor or wall-mounted. The hinged version has more compact dimensions, but also less generated heat power. There are no differences in functionality in modern models.
  • Combustion chamber type. An open chamber draws in air from the room, and ejects flue gases through the chimney. The closed chamber can produce air intake and exhaust gases through one coaxial pipe. For installation in an apartment, a closed combustion chamber is preferable.
  • Thermal power of each circuit in kW. The area of the heated room depends on the parameter. Approximate calculation of 1 kW per 10 m 2 of the room.
  • Coefficient of performance (COP). It characterizes the efficiency of the device for the transfer of energy obtained during gas combustion. The higher the efficiency, the less fuel will be required to heat the water.
  • Heat carrier temperature in ° С and range of its regulation. It is necessary to select a device that provides the desired temperature.
  • Circuit capacity in liters per hour. When assessing this parameter, it is necessary to take into account the average water consumption for hot water supply; it may be advisable to use a storage structure with an installed one.
  • Availability of protection and comfort functions, a wide range of operating modes.

Instrument selection

When choosing a device, you must be guided by the following criteria:

  • The area of the heated room in m 2. It is necessary to choose a boiler based on 1 kW of thermal power per 10 m 2 of the room. At the same time, it is necessary to understand that this is an ideal option and taking into account the heat loss of the dwelling, the average annual air temperatures at the installation site and the radiators used, a correction factor must be entered. For a preliminary estimate, we advise you to use any online calculator that takes into account the above factors, and also introduces corrections for the location of the walls (windward or not), the height of the ceilings, and the type of windows.
  • The need for hot water. For high consumption, it is reasonable to choose the CLAS B model with a built-in boiler, which is more economical.
  • Boiler installation location. For water heating units with an open combustion chamber, it is necessary to equip the room with forced ventilation, since the combustion air comes directly from the room. Since devices with an open combustion chamber are designed to remove combustion products through a chimney with natural draft, it is necessary to provide a place for the installation of the chimney and chimneys.

    IMPORTANT! It is not allowed to pass chimneys through structures made of flammable material.

Gas boiler device

Boiler malfunctions

Most of the malfunctions that occur can be prevented at the stage of boiler installation. Here is a list of the main malfunctions, their causes and measures to prevent the failure of the device:

  • Failure of the control board. It occurs, as a rule, due to poor quality of electricity - power surges, frequent power outages. To prevent breakdowns for this reason, it is necessary to provide. For a private house, a good solution would be to install a backup diesel generator and an automatic transfer system. It is necessary to protect the device with a circuit breaker, power it on a separate cable line and reliably ground it.
  • Deterioration of the passport characteristics of the device, expressed in underheating of water or reduced performance during heating. It is associated with the presence of contaminants in the water, excessive water hardness. In both cases, deposits appear on the tubes of the heat exchanger, which impede the heating and passage of water in the system. To solve the problem with contamination, it is necessary to install a filter, and when using water with a high calcium content, it is recommended to heat the water to 45-50 ° C.
  • Frequent stops due to insufficient water pressure. The fault is detected by the device and causes a safety stop. Before purchasing the unit, it is necessary to find out the parameters of the supply water network and make changes to it if the pressure is below 1.5 bar. If the pressure is higher than 6 bar, provide for the installation of a pressure reducing valve. If the parameters of the main network are normal, then turn off the boiler and check the system for leaks.
  • Frequent stoppages in the smoke exhaust system. BEFORE installing the unit, calculate and install the gas ducts and chimney that provide the required draft.
  • Frequent stops for lack of air. Before installing the appliance, equip the room with a supply ventilation system.
  • Inconsistency of the operating modes with the declared ones, the inconsistency of the coolant with the specified parameters. The main reason is incorrect commissioning and incorrect settings of the device. Careful reading of the instructions will often solve the problem. If necessary, a qualified technician should be involved who will commission and instruct you on how to operate the device.
  • When choosing a model, contact the company, which will select the necessary equipment based on your requirements;
  • Entrust the installation and commissioning of the device a qualified specialist;
  • Read the instructions carefully for operation;
  • Do not neglect periodic preventive check-ups and service maintenance of equipment;
  • In case of any frequently recurring malfunction, turn off the boiler. and call a qualified technician;
  • Trust the repair and supply of spare parts only a certified organization.
