Archaeological excavations show that people lived on the territory of the town of Heviz as early as 7,000 years ago. In the era ancient rome there was a rich villa with central heating for which thermal waters were used. During the Middle Ages, the first settlements appeared around the reservoir, in particular, the town of Heviz was first mentioned in manuscripts from the beginning of the 14th century.
