Baxi gas boilers: overview, device, model range. Double-circuit wall-mounted gas boiler Baxi: instruction, installation Double-circuit gas boiler baxi instruction

Heating system home is an attractive opportunity for any owner.

If with the help of one device the supply of hot water is also provided, then this option is optimal under any conditions.

There are many installations that perform such functions and have high performance.

A striking example of such heat engineering devices is a double-circuit gas boiler Baxi Main 24 Fi, which has a wide range of capabilities and has been specialized for Russian technological and climatic conditions.

The unit is highly rated by users and deserves detailed consideration.

The well-known Italian company Baxi, which is part of the BDR Thermea Group, has been working on the manufacture of heating equipment for more than half a century.

During this time, a lot of technological methods have been developed that allow producing high-class products that meet all the requirements and standards adopted in Europe. Baxi Main 24 Fi is one of the models of double-circuit wall-mounted boilers that use natural or liquefied gas as fuel.

Almost 70% of the company's products are intended for export, so manufacturers take into account the conditions future work. Aggregates pass special training to meet Russian conditions.

They tolerate gas pressure drops, are able to compensate for a slight decrease in voltage in the electric current network.

Among Russian users, Baxi products are deservedly in high demand and preference.

Peculiarities

Baxi Main 24 Fi is a double-circuit boiler capable of simultaneously supplying hot water and heating the coolant for heating systems or underfloor heating. The numbers 24 indicate the power of the boiler (24 kW), and the letters Fi indicate the turbocharged combustion chamber.

She has closed structure providing tightness and cleanliness of the surrounding air. The combustion mode is maintained by a fan supplying air flow to the burner.

The main feature of Baxi Main 24 Fi boilers is a bithermic heat exchanger. Unlike other series, not two separate, but one combined version was used.

It is a design in which another one is installed inside the tube, having a shape close to a rhombus.

By outside the coolant is like, and on the inside, rhombic - hot water. The OB stream receives thermal energy from the burner, and DHW - from the coolant. This design makes the boiler device simpler, more compact, simplifies adjustment and configuration.

What functions does

A set of functions of the boiler Baxi Main 24 Fi:

  • Heating of the heat carrier and GVS.
  • Organization of the circulation of OM along the heating circuit.
  • Self-diagnosis system.
  • Convenient control.
  • Flame auto ignition.
  • Thermometer and pressure gauge showing the pressure and temperature in the system.
  • Power indicator.

NOTE!

The functionality of Baxi boilers is almost the same for all models. There are only small features that do not represent a fundamental difference.

Boiler technical data

For convenience and ease of consideration, we will provide the parameters of the Baxi Main 24 Fi boiler in the form of a table:

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of Baxi Main 24 Fi boilers are:

  • European quality equipment, compliance with all certificates and standards.
  • Environmentally friendly equipment.
  • Compact, attractive appearance.
  • The ability to provide heating of the RH in parallel with the supply of hot water.
  • Low gas consumption.
  • Ability to serve a fairly large area.

The disadvantages include:

  • The complexity of flushing the bithermic heat exchanger.
  • The cost of spare parts.
  • Unprotected from power surges.
  • For maintenance or repair, you must invite a specialist.

Both the advantages and disadvantages of the Baxi Main 24 Fi boiler are due to the design features. Most of them are common qualities of gas boilers.

Baxi Main 24 Fi gas boiler device

The main structural elements of the boiler are:

  • Single bithermic heat exchanger.
  • Closed type gas burner.
  • Expansion tank.
  • Turbo blower.
  • Circulation pump.
  • Three-way valve.
  • A system of sensors connected to the control board.
  • Connecting branch pipes, connecting pipelines.

The operation of the boiler consists in heating the coolant using a heat exchanger and a gas burner. The outgoing RH mixes with the cooler reverse flow, obtaining the given temperature parameters.

At the same time, hot water is heated in the heat exchanger, passing through the inner tube and receiving energy from the hot RH. The combustion mode and the output of fuel combustion products are provided by a fan that receives Fresh air from the outer pipe of the coaxial chimney.

All processes are monitored by a system of sensors that, when problems occur, signal to the control board and display one or another error code on the display.

Almost all processes proceed automatically, user intervention is minimal and is aimed only at adjusting the operating mode.

What rooms are best suited for?

Boilers Baxi Main 24 Fi are designed and designed for operation in residential premises - houses or apartments of the appropriate size. Often they are installed in office or public buildings.

For use in industrial workshops such units are not recommended, as the specifics of the work will be too rigid and cause a quick failure of the unit.

The declared area of the heating circuit is 240 m2, although in practice it is not recommended to use this model for rooms larger than 200-220 m2 due to the gradual decrease in the capabilities of the boiler due to pollution, scale and general wear of the units.

Startup instructions

After delivery, installation of the boiler in the allotted place and connection of all communications, it is necessary to make the initial start-up of the boiler.

Procedure:

  1. Fill the boiler and system with water. It is necessary to set the pressure to about 0.7-1 mbar using the supply or drain cock. Fill the circuit slowly so that the air has time to bleed. The mode switch must be set to "0".
  2. Turn on power.
  3. Open the gas cock.
  4. Set the switch to "summer" or "winter" mode.
  5. Turn the burner control (turning it clockwise increases the temperature, turning it counterclockwise decreases it). At the same time, the sound of water movement and the noise from the operation of the burner will be heard.

NOTE!

From the first time, the process may not start due to the presence of air in the system. In such cases, the procedure is repeated until the normal start-up of the boiler.

User's manual

The operation of the boiler takes place in automatic mode, which practically does not require the participation of the user. From the owner it is necessary to periodically perform maintenance using the services of an invited specialist from the service center.

To improve working conditions and extend the service life, it is recommended to install a voltage stabilizer and a water softening filter. It is especially important to improve the quality of water if the supply comes from your own well and standard water treatment has not been carried out.

Before operating, please read the user manual carefully to understand important points and exclude illegal actions.

Main malfunctions and methods of elimination

All malfunctions that may occur during the operation of the boiler are immediately detected by the corresponding sensors and displayed on the display in the form of a corresponding code.

The first reaction of the user to the appearance of an error (if there is no visual confirmation of the problem) should be to reset the error, for which you need to press the R button and hold it for 3 seconds. If the error pops up again, you need to call the wizard.

wall Baxi gas boilers literally flooded the Russian market heating equipment over the last decade. This is not surprising. When a potential buyer faces a choice: to buy an inexpensive boiler, but unfinished and domestic, or a reliable, but expensive German-made boiler, the choice is often made in favor of Italian gas boilers.

As a rule, they are distinguished by a fairly good price-quality ratio and a developed network. Maintenance, easy to find spare parts. Consider the most popular brand of Baxi gas boilers in Russia, reviews of which we can often read on specialized forums, Internet blogs or on the company's official website.

Let us analyze in detail the main models, types, device, specifications wall-mounted (mounted) single-circuit and double-circuit gas boilers Baxi, we will identify their main advantages and disadvantages, and also we will understand how they differ from each other according to the operating instructions.

The main models of Baxi wall-mounted gas boilers

The following models of wall-mounted gas boilers are presented on our market from Baxi:

- Baxi Main Four and (fourth and fifth generation of boilers);
- Baxi Four Tech and Baxi Eco 4S;
- and its more compact counterpart Baxi Eco Compact;
- Baxi Luna-3 and Luna-3 Comfort with remote control panel;
- Baxi Nuvola-3 with built-in storage boiler.

Baksi wall-mounted gas boilers differ in the type of combustion products removal and are:

1. Turbocharged gas boilers Baxi with a closed combustion chamber

A special fan (turbine) is installed in the boiler, with the help of which the combustion products from the boiler are forcibly removed into the atmosphere. To do this, you will have to additionally buy, or a pipe system for separate smoke exhaust and air flow.

The coaxial type of chimney of the "pipe in pipe" type is installed with one end (through the elbow) on the boiler, and the other end goes out through the wall. This is very convenient, because there is no need to specially block the chimney through the roof.

Gas boiler Baxi Main Four 240 Fi

Such models at Baxi are designated by the article "F" or "Fi". For example, mounted double-circuit gas boilers Baxi Main Four 18 F, Baxi Eco 4S 24F or Baxi Eco Four 24 F. The numbers indicate the power of the boiler, i.e. 18 or 24 kW.

2. Atmospheric boilers Baxi with an open combustion chamber

If your private house already has a chimney with a diameter of at least 130 mm, then you can buy a boiler with an open chamber, the emission of combustion products of which occurs due to natural draft. Such boilers are often called "aspirated".

On the Baxi boilers themselves, the diameter of the flue pipe is 121-122 mm, so an aluminum corrugation with a diameter of 125 mm is suitable for them, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 400 degrees Celsius, which can be stretched up to three meters. Or you can use chimney pipes from of stainless steel the same diameter. True, this version of the chimney will cost a little more.

These models do not have a turbine, and the article “i” is present in the labeling of the Baksi boiler, or it is not affixed at all. For example, "Baxi Eco Four 24i" or "Baxi Four Tech 24".

Baxi wall-mounted gas boilers are available in two versions:

1. single circuit.

This type of boilers provides only for heating the coolant in the heating system. These boilers have only one main heat exchanger. This type of boiler is not very popular, because its cost is slightly lower than for double-circuit models.

In turn, a wall-mounted double-circuit gas boiler can always be used only for heating, and the second circuit for hot water supply should not be connected at all.

You can simply buy a Baksi double-circuit gas boiler, even if there is no running water for the future. After all, it is possible that after some time the second circuit of this boiler will come in handy, and you will not have to buy a new device.

2. Dual circuit.

Such boilers are most popular with buyers, as evidenced by the numerous reviews of Baxi gas boilers. They are able to work both as a heating unit and as a flow geyser. Moreover, while using running hot domestic water, the heating of the heating circuit does not turn on automatically, unlike many brands of floor-standing gas boilers.

Double-circuit wall-mounted gas boilers have two separate heat exchangers, or one bithermic one for heating both circuits in one monolithic block. Boilers of this type are in high demand among potential buyers. Having bought such a boiler, we get in “one bottle” both a boiler for heating and for hot water supply.

Features of the device of double-circuit gas boilers Baxi: instructions

Double-circuit boiler Baxi Eco 4S 24F

1. All models are equipped with two separate heat exchangers (except for the Main Four and Main 5 series boilers) for heating water in the heating system and domestic, flowing for hot water supply. The main heat exchanger is made of high-quality copper, the secondary one for hot water supply is made of stainless steel.

2. All boilers are equipped with a circulation pump German manufacturers, or Grundfos or Wilo. This pump is able to raise the water column in the heating system up to 6 meters, which is quite enough for two-story house or cottage. The circulation pumps built into the boilers are quite economical and equipped.

3. To maintain required pressure in the heating system, Baksi boilers have a built-in membrane expansion tank with a volume of 6-10 liters. You do not need to buy an additional one more if the total volume of water in the system does not exceed 100-150 liters. This individual volume can also be found out independently by counting the total number of radiator sections, the length of the pipe, or when filling the system.

4. Baxi boilers are equipped with a Honeywell gas valve, gas-burner It has stainless steel flame spreaders. All models automatically maintain the temperature of the water in the heating system and in the DHW circuit thanks to the smooth electronic modulation of the burner.

The boiler safety group includes:

- automatic air vent;
- safety valve with pressure gauge.

Consider a dual-circuit device gas boiler on the example of the model "Baxi Eco Four 24F" according to the scheme:

The device of a double-circuit gas boiler Baxi

1 - hydraulic pressure switch

2 - three-way valve

3 - three-way valve motor

4.22 - 3 bar safety valves

5 — gas valve Honeywell

6 - gas supply pipe to the burner

7 - water temperature sensor in the system

8 - flame spark plug

9 - overheat protection sensor (thermostat)

10 - main heat exchanger

11 - smoke hood

12 - turbine for ejection of combustion products

13 - Venturi tube

14.15 - points pos. and negative pressure

16 - traction control sensor

18 - expansion membrane tank

19 — circulation pump

20.21 - drain cock and pressure gauge
23 - tap for feeding the heating system
24.25 - temperature sensors of the DHW circuit

In addition, an electronic board is built into the wall-mounted boilers, the so-called. The "brains" of the boiler, various sensors: flow, temperature of the DHW and heating circuit, as well as draft and flame sensors. There is a system for protecting the boiler from freezing and blocking the circulation pump. Which does not cancel the mandatory purchase for a boiler of this brand.

gas boilers Baxi: model differences and specifications

As we see, the lineup boilers in this Italian manufacturer wide enough. Let's now take a closer look at each of the main models, and find out how they differ from each other and what features they have.

Features of models of boilers of the Baxi Main Four and Baxi Main 5 series

The predecessor of the boilers of this series were devices called Baxi Main, which did not have an LCD display and a number of other functions. In general, the word "Main" in translation from English means "main" or "main". Also in our case, the boilers of the “Main” series are basic version wall-mounted gas boiler from Baxi.

Their main distinguishing feature is the presence of a bithermic heat exchanger. This means that both the heating circuit and DHW circuit heated in one heat exchanger. The water in the circuits does not mix, and the running water is heated precisely by the heating circuit.

The fifth generation boiler attracts with its compact dimensions, but is produced only with a closed combustion chamber, unlike the fourth generation boiler. They can be used for heating a private house or apartment with an area of up to 200-240 m2, they have a model range with a capacity of 14, 18 and 24 kW.

Specifications Baxi Main 5

Features of the Baxi Eco Four and Baxi Eco Compact boiler models

The main feature of these models is the presence of an additional stainless steel plate secondary heat exchanger for heating the DHW circuit.

The main (primary) - heats water only in the heating circuit, and the secondary one works independently of it, using the coolant from the heating circuit to heat running water. Thus, the load on the main heat exchanger is noticeably reduced. Thus, the service life of both it and the gas boiler itself is increased.

Model Baxi Eco Compact already in its name indicates to us its small dimensions, due to the better arrangement of internal elements, compared with the same boilers of the fourth series. In addition, they are equipped with a new electronic board. The "ancestors" of the Eco Four series boilers are wall-mounted gas boilers of the third Baxi Eco 3 Compact series.

Specifications Baxi Eco Four

Features of models of gas boilers Baxi Four Tech

Series boilers are a cheaper version of Eco Four series boilers. They are also equipped with two separate heat exchangers made of copper and stainless steel. Them distinctive feature is that the hydraulic part (water supply pipes) is not made of copper, as in Eco Four, but of plastic.

Due to this, the manufacturer managed to reduce the price of wall-mounted double-circuit gas boilers with two heat exchangers, and some buyers appreciated this: after all, boilers of this series also found their hard place on the market. This was especially noticeable during the collapse of the ruble against the dollar and the euro.

Specifications Baxi Four Tech

Additional functions and boiler control

All models are equipped with a digital control panel, on which you can set the boiler operation mode, the temperature of the water in the heating system and hot water, set the mode of underfloor heating in the temperature range of 35-45 degrees. It is also possible to regulate the operation of the boiler depending on the weather outside the window, thanks to weather-dependent automation, by connecting a special outdoor temperature sensor.

Or buy Baxi and set the temperature in the room.
But, unfortunately, these accessories are not included in the package and must be purchased separately.
The only exception is the Luna-3 Comfort model with a remote control panel.

In addition, the display shows errors when the Baxi boiler is operating under certain codes, for example, “E 06” - the DHW temperature sensor is faulty, etc.

Advantages of Baxi wall-mounted gas boilers

- a wide range of models;
- many service centers in Russia and the CIS countries;
— Availability of spare parts from official representatives (dealers);
- reasonable cost.

Disadvantages of Baxi boilers

- weak electronics (in particular, an electronic board);
- high sensitivity to running water of poor quality;
— not "native" spare parts.

Results
Today we have analyzed in detail the wall Baxi gas boilers, considered the advantages, disadvantages of models, their technical characteristics, according to the instruction manual. We also compared how the main models of this brand of boilers differ and made our own review on them.

I will not recommend or dissuade from buying, the choice is yours. Read reviews on Baxi gas boilers and analyze. Let me just say that the price-quality ratio for Baksi boilers is quite good, even despite the fierce competition in the heating equipment market. Watch video review.

If earlier reliability was valued above all in heating equipment, today they are also expected to be able to work in automatic mode.

English holding Baxi Group, well-known manufacturer gas boilers, takes into account these requirements: the units produced by him, due to their high quality, are in good demand with us.

Our article will help to evaluate their merits, the topic of which is the Baksi gas boiler: instructions for use.

In terms of their design, TM Baksi units are not much different from other gas boilers. They consist of several components.

Gas burner device

This node contains several elements:

  1. Gas-burner: in the most affordable models, a burner with a constant power is installed, in more expensive ones - with step regulation. For supporting constant temperature indoors, the automation system has to periodically extinguish such burners, and then ignite them again. In the most expensive Baksi boilers, modulating burners are installed, the power of which is smoothly regulated. Such burners operate constantly and in the most optimal mode, so the set temperature is maintained with high accuracy.
  2. Combined gas valve: allows or blocks the gas supply to the burner, depending on the signals from the automation devices.
  3. Ignition block: consists of an electronic circuit and an electrode. This unit converts the mains voltage supplied to it into high-frequency high-voltage pulses that are applied to the electrode. As a result, a spark flares up between the electrode and the burner (in some models, between two electrodes), igniting the gas-air mixture on the burner.

The combustion chamber of TM Baksi boilers is closed, that is, air is taken into it from the street. The only exception is the Luna-3 Comfort 240i, which has an open chamber.

The branch pipe for connecting the gas supply line is located in the middle between the branch pipes for connecting the heating system.

heat exchanger

The company installs both steel and copper heat exchangers in its units.

The latter are more efficient due to their high thermal conductivity.

The successful design of the heat exchanger allows you to assimilate 90.8% of the heat generated in the combustion chamber (for some models, the efficiency is slightly less - 88.7%).

In addition to the main heat exchanger, the Baksi heater may contain another one designed for preparing hot water. Such boilers are called double-circuit. Some models, for example, Baksi Ecofor 24, can heat water in an external boiler.

A mesh filter is installed at the inlet to the heat exchanger.

Expansion tank

At different models the volume of this element can be 8 or 10 liters.

Russian manufacturers of heating equipment have advanced a lot in the quality of their equipment. Among the popular firms is Conord. users and characteristics overview, read carefully.

Rising tariffs and unavailability of centralized resource highways in remote areas contribute to the development autonomous systems providing private houses with heat and hot water.

The most successful options are boilers that provide hot water heating, power supply and circulation of the coolant in heating circuits or underfloor heating systems.

There are many companies involved in the production of heating equipment that develop and improve the design of heating units.

The most efficient and economical are gas installations, which noticeably prevail over other types of heating boilers.

The most important operational procedure is the setting, which will be considered using the example of gas boilers from the Italian company Baxi.

Boiler installation consists of several stages:

  1. Installing a water filter on the pipeline supplying water to DHW system. Be sure to install shut-off valves on both sides, which make it possible to dismantle the filter for maintenance, repair or replacement.
  2. Placement of the unit in the allotted place. Floor devices just placed in desired point premises, wall boilers hung on the surface strong walls. Mounting on plasterboard partitions or other structures that do not have sufficient bearing capacity. Mounting to the wall is made on special brackets (sled), which are included in the delivery.
  3. All supply pipelines are connected - gas, coolant, direct and return lines, hot water. Installed and connected coaxial chimney(some models are equipped with a double flue vertical type). The presence and quality of traction is immediately checked.

The final step is to connect the boiler to the power supply. This requires a separate outlet, powering other devices from it is prohibited by the operating rules.

User's manual

First of all, it is necessary to flush or clean the heating circuit and the chimney. Any contamination can disrupt the nominal mode of operation, which will cause accelerated wear of certain components and failure of the entire system.

The connection of the boiler must be carried out by the specialists of an authorized service center, they also perform the initial setup of the installation.

Boilers undergo pre-sale preparation and arrive at trading network completely ready to launch. This means that no further action is required..

This is the manufacturer's statement, but in practice it is almost always necessary to adjust the settings in accordance with the available technological or specifications. Basically, the setting consists in determining the minimum and maximum gas pressure and the temperature range of the RH, which determines the switching on and off of the boiler.

NOTE!

All settings must be carried out by employees of service organizations. Guarantee period starts from the moment of launch, and independent activation can be regarded as a violation of the contract with service center, as a result of which the repair will be denied.

How to turn on

The boiler is connected to the power supply network only after all pipelines supplying water, OB and gas are connected.

It is necessary to carefully check the correctness of the connections, pay special attention to the gas pipeline.

Check with a soapy solution for leaks, if any deficiencies are found, immediately fix them yourself or with the involvement of specialists of the appropriate profile. After that, the boiler can be filled with water by opening the make-up tap.

The pressure should be between 0.7 and 1 mbar. When the pressure reaches the desired value, you can start the boiler.

First start

After connecting all communications and power supply, you can turn on the boiler.

Procedure:

  • Open the gas cock.
  • Set the mode of heating and DHW supply (or only DHW). These modes correspond to the designations "Winter" and "Summer".
  • Install desired temperature by pressing the "+" or "-" buttons.

After that, the burner will start and the boiler will start working. Often, after the first start, an error immediately pops up on the display and the boiler is blocked.

This is due to air remaining in the pipelines. By pressing the "R" button and holding it for a few seconds, the error is reset and the unit restarts. Before complete removal air may occur several repetitions of this situation.

The air can be released more quickly by opening the pump and loosening the screw. The procedure is performed with the power off. Air will escape from under the pump cover, as soon as water flows, the screw is immediately tightened again and the equipment starts up again.

How often should it turn on?

The frequency of turning on the boiler depends on several factors.:

  • Unit power.
  • Correct boiler settings.
  • Presence of a room thermostat.

With excessive power, the installation quickly heats up the OB and turns off. The circulation pump ensures the supply of new portions of the cooled coolant, the temperature sensor is triggered and starts the boiler again.

Power can be reduced by software. It is also necessary to reconfigure the boiler, in particular - increase the parameter F11 (waiting time before restarting) to a maximum of 10 minutes.

Using a thermostat allows you to significantly increase the time between unit starts, since the air cools and heats up much more slowly.

Temperature control

To add or decrease the temperature of the RH, there are “+” and “-” buttons to the right and left of the display (on older models there is a special regulator, by turning it clockwise the temperature rises and vice versa).

If used room thermostat, adjustment is made from it, and only limit values \u200b\u200bare set on the boiler.

When setting the temperature, do not change the parameters in large jumps. It is necessary to change the regime smoothly, to give some time to overcome the inertia of the system. This will soften the transition to another mode and extend the life of the boiler.

Pressure setting

A fill valve is used to raise the pressure, and a bleed valve is used to release the pressure.

The optimal value is the range of 0.7-1 mbar. Usually, Baxi boilers maintain the desired value on their own, but sometimes failures occur. If there is a constant drop that does not disappear after the system is recharged, then somewhere there is an OM leak.

This could mean either leaking piping or radiators, underfloor heating systems or other external elements.

Often the problem occurs due to a malfunctioning drain valve.. An abnormal increase in pressure may be due to a malfunction or an open make-up valve or damage to the expansion tank membrane.

Optimum operating mode

The optimal operating mode of the boiler is described in detail in the user manual.

Its parameters:

  • The temperature of the RH is 70-75°.
  • Water pressure - 0.7-1 mbar.
  • Parameters F08 and F10 are set respectively to the minimum and maximum values.

Adjustment is made during commissioning, additional adjustments are made periodically during annual maintenance or after repair work.

Self-diagnosis

Self-diagnosis is an automatic continuous process that starts immediately when the boiler is first turned on.

It does not require any special actions and runs constantly in the background. Any error is immediately registered by the corresponding sensor, which displays it, and the control board blocks the operation of the unit. To reset the error and restart the boiler, press the "R" button and hold it for a few seconds.

Basic error codes and their interpretation

Baxi boiler errors (Baxi) are certain deviations from the nominal operating mode, which are recorded by sensors and displayed on the unit's display in the form of a numeric code with the letter e (Error).

Let's take a closer look at them:

Error code Fault type Decision
E01-02 Lack of coolant in the system (flow sensor failure) Feeding the system, replacing the sensor

Conclusion

Carefulness and quality of adjustment of Baxi boilers ensure the efficiency and durability of the equipment and the entire heating system as a whole.

The operation of the boiler largely depends on the gas supply mode and the specified temperature range, which, in turn, are selected based on climatic features region and the amount of heat loss in the room.

The main condition is the accuracy of the adjustments, the absence of frequent and unskilled intervention in the operation of the unit.

A well-executed setting ensures the durability of the equipment and a comfortable microclimate in the room.

In contact with

Consider the basic device of the Baxi boiler. The schematic diagram is printed in the instruction manual for each specific model, but the main components will be the same.

At the top is a chimney. Immediately below it is a fan with a Venturi tube and an exhaust hood to remove combustion products. Below is the primary heat exchanger, which looks like a radiator and a coil, a little to the left is a safety thermostat and an NTC heating temperature sensor.

In the center is a combustion chamber, inside which there is a burner and electrodes for ignition and flame ionization. A gas train with nozzles is connected to the modulating burner, into which gas is supplied from the gas valve.

On the right side, a pipe goes down from the heat exchanger, connected to expansion tank and circulation pump. The pump is equipped with an automatic air bleed valve. It ends at the bottom with a tap for draining the coolant from the apparatus and a pressure gauge; water from the house heating system enters it.

On the left side, a pipe descends, on which a hydraulic pressure switch is installed and safety valve at the end. Water comes out of it heating system. Between themselves, these pipes are connected by an automatic bypass.

In double-circuit models, a secondary plate heat exchanger, a DHW priority sensor and a three-stage valve are additionally installed. The Baksi Luna 3 Combi and Nulova 3 series of models are equipped with an indirect size boiler of small volume.

Main 5 boilers are equipped with a bithermic heat exchanger, which simultaneously heats and running water and heat carrier. This is realized due to the fact that inside the tube through which the liquid from the heating system flows, there is another tube of a smaller diameter through which tap water flows.

An electronic control board is installed in front. The wiring diagram printed in the instruction manual shows where all the elements and sensors of the boiler are connected to. From it you can understand how the electrical part of the equipment works.

A steel casing is installed outside, on which there is a electrical panel control with buttons for switching on and selecting the operating mode. AT modern models a display is installed to display technical data and error codes in the event of a malfunction.

Principle of operation

Let's figure out what is the principle of operation of the Baksi gas boiler. The coolant enters the apparatus system through the right pipe, driven by a circulation pump. Then it enters the heat exchanger.

When the temperature of the liquid drops below the setting in the control panel settings, the gas valve supplies fuel to the burner and the ignition electrode is activated. A flame ignites, which heats the heat exchanger. When heated, the coolant expands and its excess enters the expansion tank.

The coolant exits through the left pipe, passing through the temperature sensor. When the water has heated up to the set level, the gas flow to the burner is shut off. A remote room thermostat can also regulate the operation of the boiler, in which case the operation cycles will be tied to the temperature in the room.

In two-circuit series, a three-stage valve changes the priority of hot water and heating, depending on the needs of the consumer.

Baxi three stage gas valve

The piping of such a boiler is quite simple, since everything functional elements configured and located inside the case. Need to calculate right amount radiators, draw a diagram, and then connect them together and bring all the pipes to the device.

Series and their features

In order to determine the type of boiler by name, let's deal with the markings. The symbol "F" or "Fi" indicates that the boiler is turbocharged with a closed combustion chamber. Atmospheric vehicles have the letter "i". The word "Comfort" means that the kit comes with a remote control panel, the mark "Air" says that this panel is remote.

The first digit after the name of the series reflects the generation of boilers, and the second - power. For example, the fourth generation Baxi Eco Four 24 F with a closed combustion chamber and a power of 24 kW.

The fifth generation Main 5 series is the next stage in the development of the Baxi Main Four 240 F boilers. It includes three wall-mounted models with a capacity of 14, 18 and 24 kW. All of them are double-circuit due to the installed bithermic heat exchanger, they have electronic protection against scale. Equipped with a closed combustion chamber. The configuration is very adaptive, the boiler operates at a reduced gas pressure of up to 4 bar and power voltage fluctuations from 170 to 270 V.

The electronic board has a self-diagnostic function and the possibility of weekly programming. The Comfort series is equipped with a remote control panel with a built-in room temperature sensor. In Luna 3 Combi devices, domestic hot water is provided by a built-in eighty-liter boiler indirect heating stainless steel Combi 80.

Floor-standing boilers Baksi Slim have very compact dimensions, stylish gray housing with black control panel and equipped with a cast iron heat exchanger. In Slim 2 models, an indirect heating boiler of 50 or 60 liters is installed.

The circulation pump works in three speeds. Power range from 15 to 62 kW. It is possible to connect a programmable timer. Slim EF devices are equipped with gas automation with a thermocouple, which allows you to work in a non-volatile mode with natural circulation coolant.
