Atoll water filters instruction. Installation and replacement of water filters for reverse osmosis atoll. I. connection of flexible pipes with quick connectors

QUICK REFERENCE

PURE WATER is a pleasant tasting water that does not contain organic or organic matter in dangerous to health or undesirable concentrations, corresponding to the established sanitary standards and rules.

REVERSE OSMOSIS - purification of water by passing it with pressure through a semi-permeable membrane. This principle is the basis of atoll reverse osmosis filters and does not involve the use of chemicals.

MEMBRANE is a semi-permeable material through which only water molecules and oxygen can pass.

PREFILTERS - are used to purify water from insoluble particles, chlorine, organic substances before the water reaches the membrane, and help to increase the life of the membrane.

CONTENTS OF DELIVERY

Your new atoll reverse osmosis filter has been extensively tested at the factory for leaks, treated water quality, and performance of all components.

When developing the filter, it was supposed to be placed under kitchen sink. This is its recommended installation location.

Before you start installing the filter, please read the entire manual carefully.

The filter package includes:

  • filtration unit (1);
  • storage tank for storing purified water (2);
  • accessories: clean water tap (3), combined water supply unit (or water supply tap (4) and tee (5)), tank ball valve (6), drain clamp (7);
  • four colored tubes connected to the filter (black, blue, red, yellow) 1.2 m each (8);
  • set of cartridges (9) Cartridges may be sold assembled with the system or included in the delivery;
  • wrench for unscrewing prefilter housings (10);
  • blue brackets to prevent accidental disconnection (may not be installed on all connections, their absence does not prevent the safe operation of the system);
  • FUM tape;
  • Silicone Grease
  • User manual.

SAFETY INFORMATION

The atoll reverse osmosis filter fully meets all safety requirements, which is confirmed by a Russian certificate of conformity. However, everyone who uses it should know the principle of operation and its features. safe work. To avoid problems and errors, read this section carefully and strictly follow the filter installation and maintenance instructions.

Important! The pressure at the inlet to the filter should not exceed 6 atm. If it is possible to increase the pressure in the inlet pipeline above 6 atm, it is recommended to install a Honeywell D04 or D06 pressure reducing valve in the system before the first prefilter to prevent leakage.

  • The filter is designed to purify water in the amount necessary for cooking, drinking and other household needs.
  • Check the water you will be treating for compliance with the points “Requirements for water supplied to the filter”.
  • If the filter is brand new, do not use purified water for drinking until the adjustment and flushing procedures are completed.
  • Adjustment and washing of the filter is carried out in the following cases:
    • at the first connection;
    • when the filter is moved to a place with a different quality of the source water;
    • after replacing the diaphragm and/or replacement elements.
  • If the supplied water is of unknown quality, then after the start of the filter operation, it is advisable to analyze the purified water. Later, to make sure correct work filter, purified water should be checked at least once a year, or in case of a change in its taste. If the results of the analysis are unsatisfactory, contact the service organization.
  • If water leakage or other malfunctions are detected, stop the water supply to the filter and call a specialist to restore normal operation.
  • Important! If the temperature in the room where the filter is installed falls below 0°C, it is necessary to protect the filter from exposure to low temperatures. If this condition is not met, you cannot count on warranty service.
  • Modifying the system or making any structural changes is prohibited. This may result in personal injury and/or property damage. This also voids the warranty.
  • All necessary work plumbing must be carried out by a qualified person. If you are making the connection yourself, then you need to familiarize yourself with current rules and stick to them.
  • When moving the filter to storage for more than 2 weeks, you must:
    • disconnect the filter from the water supply, turn off the power supply;
    • empty the storage tank;
    • remove the membrane and replaceable elements, pack in a bag and place in a refrigerator (+2 - +5°C).
  • Replacement elements should not be stored near odorous or toxic substances and must be protected from dust.
  • Purified water should not be stored in aluminum or copper vessels due to possible corrosion and possible increase in the concentration of non-ferrous metal ions in pure water.
  • Do not place any objects on top of the filter and storage tank.

Check the system regularly for leaks.

To limit the damage from water leakage, it is recommended to install an atoll leakage protection valve. Leak Stop® on the tube through which water is supplied to the filter.

The service life of atoll reverse osmosis filter is 5 years.

Although the atoll reverse osmosis filter traps all bacteria and viruses contained in the source water, it is recommended to use the filter only with water that is microbiologically safe. Use a filter to purify water that has been pre-disinfected by chlorination or irradiation with an ultraviolet lamp. Otherwise, the service life of the pre-filters may be less than the period of their regular replacement.

ATTENTION!

In order to prevent bacteria from getting into the filter during its installation, we recommend that before connecting all the pipes and installing the membrane and cartridges, as well as before installing the water supply unit and the storage tank tap, thoroughly wash your hands with soap or use new clean rubber gloves.

* - the useful volume of the storage tank depends on the pressure in the water supply and usually amounts to 50-70% of the total volume.

A typical water purification scheme is shown in rice. 3. All elements are replaceable, and you can always choose the best option for your conditions.

For reliable and long-term operation of the atoll reverse osmosis system, it is recommended to use the following devices of the above diagram in order of decreasing importance:

  1. Stage - 2 - pressure reducing valves with a pre-set pressure in the range of 3-4.5 bar to protect against pressure surges in the water supply.
  2. Stage - 1 - pre-filter - on heavily polluted water.

The remaining steps are optional and serve to protect other plumbing devices. See commented table for details.

All equipment is built into the water supply, however, its further maintenance (cleaning, replacement of cartridges) and repairs are carried out on site - without dismantling from the water supply network.

Filter drinking water installed in the kitchen in the cabinet under the sink.

Due to the high performance of the circuit elements, their installation does not affect the water flow rate in any way.

All devices, with the exception of drinking water filters, are capable of operating in a wide temperature range: for cold water- up to +40°С, for hot - up to +80°С.

When installing outside of centralized drinking water supply systems, it is recommended to preliminarily analyze the source water. If the water characteristics determined as a result of the analysis are worse than those indicated above, it is advisable to install an additional water treatment system. It is better to consult with the specialists of the seller or service center about its composition.

I. CONNECTION OF FLEXIBLE TUBES WITH QUICK CONNECTORS

ATTENTION: tubes can be cut for ease of installation, but we recommend that you keep their length to facilitate after-sales service. No tools are required to connect the four colored tubes. The tubes must be cut straight, otherwise leaks at the joints are possible.

JOIN - VERY SIMPLE!

  1. Cut the tube at a right angle.
  2. Insert it into the connector until it stops. Apply additional force to seal the connection. In this case, the tube will be drowned by about 3 mm more and will be tightly compressed by the rubber ring of the connector.

TUBE FIXED

Pull the tubing to check the connection.

To prevent accidental disengagement, secure the ring with the blue clip ( rice. 6).

DISCONNECTING IS AS EASY

  1. Make sure there is no pressure in the tube.
  2. Remove the blue clip to prevent accidental disconnection.
  3. Click on the ring at the base.
  4. Pull out the tube while keeping the ring pressed.

Please pay attention to the need to check the tightness of the connection before installing the filters. During this test, it is necessary to pull the tubes coming out of the connectors with sharp movements. This will check the reliability of the connection and ensure that the tube is notched with the metal hooks of the connector.

The tubes must be cut straight, at right angles.

II. DRILLING A HOLE UNDER THE CLEAN WATER TAP AND CONNECTING IT TO THE FILTER

ATTENTION: although the process of drilling a hole in a sink is not very difficult, it nevertheless requires appropriate skills, attention and care. Use safety goggles and gloves. If necessary, contact a specialist.

To mount the clean water faucet (A), you need a flat surface of sufficient rigidity so that the faucet is securely fixed in an upright position. When choosing a location for drilling a hole (diameter 13 mm), be guided by aesthetic considerations, first making sure that:

  • the length of the blue tube is enough to connect a clean water tap to the filtration unit;
  • from the underside of the countertop or sink, nothing will interfere with connecting the tube to the clean water tap.

Install a clean water faucet according to rice. eight. We recommend not tightening the nut (see rice. eight) until the installation is completed and the system is tested, so that it is possible to make sure that there is no water leakage at the junction of the valve body and the threaded tube. A clean water faucet can be supplied with a set of parts for connecting to a pipe, or a clean water faucet can include a quick connector. On the rice. 9a, b, c given possible ways connecting the blue tube to a clean water faucet.

If there is no place on the surface of the sink to install the tap, then it can be mounted on the surface of the table ( rice. ten).

III. CONNECTION TO THE COLD WATER LINE

ATTENTION: make sure that the filter is connected to cold water (tmax 38oC). Connection to hot water will destroy the filter.

  1. Close the valve that turns off the cold water supply. Open the cold water faucet on the faucet to relieve pressure. If water continues to flow from the faucet even after the valve is turned off, you will need to turn off the main valve of the house or apartment.
  2. The system is connected to the water supply through a water supply unit. The filter kit may include a combined water supply unit tap-tee. In this case, go to step 6
  3. Assemble the water supply unit by connecting ball valve with tee as shown in rice. eleven. Using the FUM tape, screw the water supply tap into the tee. Be extremely careful when connecting the faucet - excessive force will damage its threads. Use only a wrench or small adjustable wrench. Do not use other materials to seal the connection.
  4. Loosen the union nut and remove flexible eyeliner from the mixer.
  5. Replace the union nut gasket if necessary.
  6. Install the assembly into the gap in the faucet flexible piping as shown. rice. 12. Use a wrench or adjustable wrench.
  7. Connect the red tube from the filter to the ball valve with a union nut or a quick coupling.

IV. TANK BALL VALVE INSTALLATION

Note: do not touch air valve on the storage tank (located on the bottom of the tank).

When filling and emptying the tank, the yellow tube is used; depending on the operating mode, the direction of the water flow in it changes.

  1. Wrap the threads on the top of the tank three times with FUM tape.
  2. Connect the tank ball valve to the top of the storage tank (see illustration). rice. thirteen). To avoid damage to the faucet, do not apply great force when installing it. Use a wrench or adjustable wrench.
  3. Connect the yellow tube from the filter to the quick connector of the storage tank ball valve with a union nut or quick connector.

V. DRAIN CLAMP INSTALLATION

The drain clamp is suitable for drain siphons of sinks with a diameter of 40 mm.

It must be installed on the vertical part of the pipe before the first bend of the siphon ( rice. thirteen). The section of the pipe into which the drain pipe exits must not be filled with water.

  1. Drill a hole with a diameter of 6.5 mm in the place where you plan to install the drain clamp.
  2. Stick the seal on inside drain clamp brackets with connection. Insert the tube into the clamp bracket ( rice. fifteen).
  3. Position the two drain clamp brackets so that the hole drilled in the siphon aligns with the hole in the drain clamp and the protruding part of the tube.
  4. Tighten the mounting bolts. They should be tightened evenly so that the two brackets of the drain clamp are parallel to each other.

The filter can be equipped with a drain collar with a union nut.

VI. RINSING THE FILTER AND STARTING UP

DO NOT DRINK WATER THAT WAS OBTAINED AS A RESULT OF THE FIRST TWO FILLINGS OF THE TANK!

  1. Install prefilter(s). The first prefilter (marked on the flask PREFILTER) is already installed in all models. In the second flask (marked CARBON), install a carbon cartridge. Install a mechanical pre-filter in the third stage (SEDIMENT). To install the cartridge, it is necessary to unscrew the flask using the key (10). Carefully remove protective film from the cartridge and install it in the flask. Pay attention to the marking “THIS END NEXT TO VESSEL THREADS” on the top cap of the cartridge or to the instructions on the label. Tighten the flask by hand, without using a wrench, without applying excessive force.
  2. Install the membrane. To do this, disconnect the tube (H) from the diaphragm cap quick connector. Unscrew the cap of the membrane flask (marked MEMBRANE). Lubricate silicone grease rubber membrane seals. Install the diaphragm in the body according to rice. sixteen. Lubricate the membrane flask cap seal with silicone grease and carefully place it on the flask. Screw on the cap of the membrane bulb and attach the tube (H). Make sure that the flask lid sealing ring is installed on the flask without distortion.
  3. Disconnect the tube (F) from the shut-off valve inlet and direct it into any container (bucket, sink, etc.).
  4. Open for 2-3 min. water supply valve (B) for washing cartridges.
  5. Close the water supply valve (B), connect the pipe (F).
  6. Close the tank tap (C).
  7. Open the water supply tap (B). Turn on the power if the system has a pump.
  8. Make sure there are no leaks.
  9. After five minutes, water will begin to drip from the clean water faucet (A). Let the water drip for 10 minutes, after which, after a few minutes, the water will stop flowing into the drain from the black tube. Now the maximum possible pressure of clean water has been established in the system. Pull the tubing again to check the connection.
  10. Open the tank cock (C) by turning it 90° - the process of filling the tank will begin. This will take several hours depending on the inlet water pressure.
  11. After filling the tank (you will hear that the water is no longer flowing to the drain and the pump (if any) is not working) open the clean water tap (A) and wait until all the water has drained out.
  12. Close the clean water faucet (A). Let the tank fill up a second time. This process will take about 2 hours. Then drain the water from the tank.
  13. clean water obtained during the third filling of the tank can be used.
  14. Important! During the first week of operation, check the system daily for leaks.
  15. When the system is first started, the color of the water may be slightly milky. Do not worry - these are small air bubbles, they will disappear soon. There is a normal process of expelling air from the system.
  16. Check that there is no leakage at the bottom of the clean water faucet body, tighten the faucet nut ( rice. eight).

VII. REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE

(cm. rice. 4)

* - the actual terms for replacing replaceable elements may differ significantly from those recommended due to the poor quality of the water supplied to the filter.

If it is necessary to replace worn-out cartridges, it is recommended to purchase special sets of replacement elements.

Replacement of prefilters

  1. Open the clean water faucet (A) to release the pressure.
  2. Using the key (10), unscrew the pre-filter flasks, to do this, hold the system with one hand, turn the key with the other.
  3. Remove and dispose of used replacement parts. It is recommended to protect your hands by wearing rubber gloves to avoid touching the used elements. Replaceable elements, as well as the filter itself (at the end of its service life), must be disposed of together with municipal solid waste.

    Remember the sequence of installation of replaceable elements. Rinse inner surface household flasks detergent and brush and rinse thoroughly clean water.

  4. Remove the o-rings of the flasks, wipe them dry. It is advisable to lubricate the gasket of a new replaceable element, as well as the sealing rings of the prefilter flasks, with silicone grease or vaseline oil.
  5. Place the new replacement elements into the filter flasks in the order in which the old ones were installed (having previously removed from the new cartridges polyethylene film), and screw them to the system as far as they will go. Screw the flask by hand, use a plastic key only in case of EXTREME NECESSITY.
  6. Disconnect the white tube (F) from the inlet to the shut-off (four-way) valve.
  7. Place a bucket or sink under the pipe and turn on the water supply tap (B). This will flush the newly installed replacement elements.
  8. After 2-3 minutes, close the water supply tap (B) and connect the tube (F) to the shut-off valve.
  9. Close the clean water faucet (A).
  10. Open the water supply tap (B). Turn on the power.
  11. Check the system for leaks.

Membrane replacement

Pay attention to the tightness of the quick couplings when replacing the diaphragm. If, after several connections (for example, to replace cartridges), the edge of the tube has numerous “burrs”, it should be cut off.

  1. Close the water tap (B). Turn off power.
  2. Close the valve of the storage tank by turning it 90 degrees.
  3. Open the clean water faucet (A).
  4. Disconnect the tube (H) from the cap of the membrane flask (marked MEMBRANE on the flask).
  5. Unscrew the cap of the membrane flask, remove the used membrane. Remember the direction of installation of the membrane in the flask, dispose of the old membrane. The used membrane must be disposed of together with municipal solid waste.
  6. Install a new membrane (see point 2 of the section “Flushing the filter and getting started”).
  7. Close the clean water faucet (A).
  8. Open the storage tank valve (C).
  9. Open the tap (B) for supplying water to the system. Turn on the power.
  10. 10. Check the system for leaks.

Replacing the carbon post-filter

Pay attention to the tightness of the quick connectors when replacing the post-filter. If, after several connections (for example, to replace cartridges), the edge of the tube has numerous “burrs”, it should be cut off.

  1. Close the water tap (B). Turn off the power if there is a pump in the system.
  2. Close the valve of the storage tank by turning it 90 degrees.
  3. Open the clean water faucet (A).
  4. Disconnect two tubes from the post-filter (marked POSTFILTER on the flask).
  5. While holding the filter, remove the post-filter from the clips holding it.
  6. Install a new post-filter in place of the removed one. At the same time, do not confuse the inlet and outlet (the direction of water flow is indicated on the body).
  7. Attach tubing to quick connectors.
  8. Open the system water supply tap (B) and clean water tap (A). Turn on the power. Let the water drain for about 10-15 minutes.
  9. Close the clean water faucet (A).
  10. Open the valve of the storage tank (C).

After any replacement of replaceable elements, it is necessary to flush the entire system. To do this, it is necessary to drain one tank of water, which will be filled in 1.5 - 2 hours.

Before connecting the tubing to quick couplings, it is advisable to lubricate the ends of the tubing with silicone grease or vaseline oil to better seal the connection.

Unevenly cut pipes can cause a leak in the system. If necessary, correct the cut so that the cut angle is 90°.

FILTER DISINFECTION

Disinfection of reverse osmosis systems is carried out after a long (more than 3 weeks) downtime of the system. Decontamination is also desirable when replacing cartridges. Use unscented 5.25% household chlorine bleach (sodium hypochlorite). Distinguish between the disinfection of the filtration unit and the disinfection of the storage tank.

The sequence of actions when disinfecting the filtration unit

  1. Turn off the water supply.
  2. Turn off the tap on the tank.
  3. Remove and dispose of all cartridges and post-filter.
  4. Remove the membrane, pack it in a sealed bag and place in the refrigerator.
  5. Screw the flasks of the 2nd and 3rd pre-filters, the membrane flask, connect the tube from the clean water tap to the tee instead of the post-filter.
  6. Pour 50 ml of bleach into the flask of the 1st prefilter. Spin the flask.
  7. Open a clean water faucet.
  8. Restore the water supply to the system.
  9. When water with the smell of chlorine comes out of the clean water tap, close it and shut off the water supply to the system again.
  10. Leave the system for 2-3 hours.
  11. Open the clean water faucet and restore the water supply to the system. Wait for the smell of chlorine in the tap water to disappear.
  12. Install new cartridges in the system. Install the membrane. Open the valve of the storage tank. Restore water supply.

Sequence of actions for decontamination of the storage tank

  1. Turn off the water supply.
  2. Open the clean water faucet and drain all the water.
  3. Turn off the tap on the tank.
  4. Remove cartridges 1-3 pre-filters.
  5. Screw on the flasks of the 2nd and 3rd pre-filters.
  6. Disconnect the tubing to the storage tank from the post-filter tee and connect it to the 3rd pre-filter outlet instead of the tubing to the shut-off valve.
  7. Pour approximately 10 ml of bleach into the flask of the 1st prefilter. Spin the flask.
  8. Open the tap on the tank.
  9. Restart the water supply to the system for 5 minutes.
  10. Close the valve on the tank and leave it filled with solution for 1-2 hours.
  11. Drain the water from the tank by disconnecting its tube from the outlet of the 3rd pre-filter. Restore the original tubing connection.
  12. Install the cartridges in the system. Open the tap on the tank. Restore water supply.

Options

1. Increasing system performance, upgrading the system to operate with low water pressure in the inlet pipeline (for models not equipped with a pressure booster pump).

If the water pressure at the filter inlet does not exceed 2.8 atm, then to increase productivity, it is advisable to install a pressure booster pump ( rice. 17). If it is possible to increase the pressure in the inlet pipeline above 4 atm, it is recommended to install a Honeywell D04 or D06F pressure reducing valve upstream of the pump to prevent leakage.

The pump is installed in front of the first pre-filter in a break in the red supply pipe. For normal operation of the pump, it is necessary to fix it on a vertical or horizontal surface with four screws.

* If the input water is of very poor quality and contains a large number of mechanical impurities, it is necessary to install an additional atoll I-11S main prefilter for normal operation of the pump.

The pump must be installed only in a set with a high pressure sensor installed in a pipe break in front of the storage tank. The sensor is required so that the pump only works when the storage tank is being filled. After the tank is filled, the water flow stops and the pump turns off.

Sensor low pressure prevents "dry running" of the pump. The sensor is mounted before the first prefilter.

Both the high pressure pump and the sensors are equipped with quick connectors.

2. Elimination of microbiological contamination of input water.

The presence of microorganisms leads to fouling of pre-filters, pressure drop and, accordingly, to the stop of the filter as a whole. To avoid this, it is recommended to pre-install ultraviolet lamp Sterilight SC1/2 (see rice. eighteen) complete with atoll I-11S main prefilter.

3. Protection of the storage tank from unwanted ingress of microorganisms.

If the filter is not used for a long time (2-3 weeks), there is a possibility of penetration of microorganisms through the clean water tap into the storage tank. It is possible to clean the tank from microorganisms that have got there only by subsequent washing with a disinfectant solution. To prevent this, it is necessary to install an ultraviolet lamp Sterilight SC1/2 between the clean water tap and the storage tank in the gap of the blue tube (see fig. rice. nineteen). The lamp is attached to the filtration unit or to any surface using two clips.

4. Connection to the ice machine.

The ice maker is connected to the filter through a tee (for example, UT0404), installed in the gap of the blue tube from the filter unit to the tap ( rice. 20). The length of the pipe from the filter to the ice maker must not exceed 10 meters.

5. Reducing the content of nitrates in the source water.

For the most effective removal nitrates, you must additionally install a filter containing a replaceable element atoll NRC-10. The decision on the place of installation of the nitrate prefilter is desirable to coordinate with the specialists of the seller or service center.

The purity of drinking water is important. Atoll reverse osmosis filters are systems that provide maximum high cleaning water thanks to multi-stage technology, which uses the principle of membrane treatment. This is an advanced method, so these products are in great demand, including in our country.

Device and features

The basic principle of reverse osmosis is the pressure difference that occurs on both sides of the membrane (main filter made of polyamide or cellulose acetate). This is a special cellular material with numerous pores, hollow fiber or rolled. As a result of passing through it, the liquid is cleared by 99.9% of various unwanted impurities.

The membrane is very thin, but it consists of two layers with different densities. Actually, this is a feature of Atoll water filters.

The process of water treatment itself is as follows:

  • first, the water passes through three pre-filters, in which it is mechanically cleaned of the largest particles;
  • then she gets into carbon filter where it gets rid of many organic substances and chlorine compounds;
  • this is followed by repeated mechanical cleaning from the smallest fractions by screening;
  • finally the liquid reaches the membrane filter and is treated at the molecular level under pressure;
  • at the same time, the water is separated: the clean one is sent to the storage tank, the rest - to the drainage;
  • the last stage of processing includes post-treatment with activated carbon.

Thanks to this multi-level technique, the liquid is purified from dangerous bacteria and viruses, heavy metal salts, and dissolved salts. Such water can be called drinking water. It has no odors, has a pleasant taste, it can be used even by small children.

Advantages and disadvantages

This product is certified guarantee period(the membrane is intended for operation within 3-5 years).

  • obtaining extremely purified water, enriched with oxygen and having high taste qualities;
  • simple installation and repair (for this there is no need to use improvised tools, and connection using tubes different colors makes this process intuitive)
  • nice design models, suitable for any interior;
  • high quality components produced famous manufacturer Pentek;
  • the ability to purchase the necessary replacement parts.

The disadvantages of devices concern not only Atoll filters, but also similar devices using reverse osmosis:

  • rather slow generation of pure water at an average performance;
  • the possibility of using only prepared water (you will also have to acquire a simple mechanical filtering device);
  • high water consumption (during purification, up to 70-75% of the liquid is discarded);
  • since the water at the outlet is purified to such an extent that it lacks the necessary minerals, the user will also have to buy a special device that can restore useful composition water.

Despite these shortcomings and a considerable cost, Atoll products are highly appreciated by experts and are very popular.

Model overview

Filtration equipment can be selected taking into account performance, depending on the needs for a certain amount water, as well as based on the conditions of different pressure present in the plumbing system.

  • Atoll a-550 "Patriot"- a small compact model mounted under the sink. A feature of the device is fixation with the help of special clips. The equipment has a capacity of 120 liters of water per day. Working temperature- from +4 to +38 ° С, pressure - 2.8-6 atmospheres.
  • Atoll A-575p STDmodern device suitable for an apartment or a private house. Works at low pressure in the water supply (2.8 and below). Thanks to the pump, this model increases water pressure and increases productivity up to 195 liters per day.

  • A-450 STD- the most popular modification with a capacity of 10 liters of liquid per hour. The advantages are excellent assembly, durable plastic cartridges, mounting filters on a metal plate and high quality osmotic membrane made in the USA.
  • Atoll A-560E. This system has high productivity (up to 260 liters of water per day). It can be used for large families, and is also suitable for offices, cafes and other public places. The storage tank stores up to 8 liters of liquid. The model is equipped with a high-pressure pump, a ceramic drinking tap, and a built-in membrane. The device can be purchased both assembled and as a set of elements.

At low pressure in water pipes you should choose modifications with the “P” index, since they are equipped with a special pump.

System connection diagram

Installation of the device, if you follow the instructions, can be carried out on your own.

The set of the filtering device has everything you need for this:

  • the device itself with a block of replaceable consumables;
  • shut-off device for liquid supply;
  • special key made of plastic;
  • tee;
  • plastic pipes;
  • mixer (for clean water);
  • fasteners.

Before work, it is important to check whether the pipes are long enough to connect the system.

The installation process itself includes the following steps:

  • cut the tube at an angle of 90 degrees, preventing leakage;
  • then the tube is immersed into the connector by a few millimeters, so that it is tightly crimped with its ring;
  • so that separation does not occur, a bracket is installed;
  • the mixer of the purified liquid is cut into the sink;
  • connect cold water supply at a temperature of +38 degrees;
  • after it is closed, the mixer is opened, so the pressure is released;
  • if water continues to drip, spend total overlap indoors or throughout the building;
  • the fluid supply unit is assembled, the tee is connected to the tap (do this carefully, otherwise the thread may be damaged);
  • at this stage, it is important to verify the maximum density of the nut gasket;
  • the supply unit is mounted in the supply line, after which the mixer is connected to the filter device.

As a rule, the first flask is already installed during assembly, so the rest should be mounted. To do this, the container is untwisted using a plastic key (you can twist it by hand). It remains to open the liquid supply and the mixer for purified water. If no leak is found, the valve closes.

Work is recommended to be carried out in rubber gloves to prevent infection from entering the equipment. A few days after installation, they monitor for leaks. Initially, the water will have a milky hue due to the presence of air bubbles, but this should not be a cause for concern, after a while the liquid will acquire its natural color.

Filter replacement

Unfortunately, the periodic replacement of some elements cannot be avoided, but it does not present any particular difficulties.

To do this, you need to do the following:

  • to begin with, it is worth disconnecting the device located under the sink, having previously made the overlap;
  • then, using a plastic key, the lower container is unscrewed, it should be emptied and rinsed;
  • the seal must be lubricated with silicone paste included in the equipment kit;
  • a new consumable is mounted in a container, which is installed back;
  • so the whole device is connected in series.

After turning on the supply, it is important to carefully check the system for leakage.

Elements should be replaced at a certain frequency:

  • coal cleaner - once every six months;
  • mechanical sump - once every 60-90 days;
  • polypropylene - once every 6 months;
  • membrane filter - once every 24 months;
  • carbon ionizing layer - once every 12 months.

If you regularly optimize the system, the device can be used for many years.

Hardware malfunctions

System crashes can occur for a variety of reasons.

There are several main types of faults.

  1. Leaks. The reason may be that the pipes are cut unevenly, there is no tightness, pressure drops are observed, or the threads are not fully tightened.
  2. Water flows into the drain. This can be caused by shut-off valve malfunctions, clogged replacement parts, damaged pre-filters, or low pressure.
  3. Insufficient amount of water in storage tank. This situation can be observed at the beginning of the operation of the device. It takes at least 1.5 hours for the tank to fill up. Also, the cause may be clogging of the membrane, other filters or high pressure in the tank.
  4. Low performance. This is due to kinked tubes, low inlet pressure, clogged membrane and other cartridges, too cold water.

Another common problem is the bad taste and smell of water. This may be due to clogged filters or wrong connection tubes. The noise is due to high inlet pressure or clogged drains. If the pump does not turn off, you need to adjust the high pressure regulator or find out why there is not enough water entering the tank.

Atoll is known in many countries as a manufacturer and supplier of water filters. The filter device includes only certified cartridges and membranes, and is not used for the cleaning process chemical elements, due to which Atoll systems are characterized by high performance and an appropriate degree of water purification.

In order for all indicators to meet the standards declared by the manufacturer, it is required to make timely replacement of Atoll cartridges.

When and what cartridges need to be changed?

If we take reverse osmosis as an example, then the system includes three types of cartridges: membrane, pre-filters and post-filters:

  • The service life of prefilters is up to 6 months, depending on the intensity of use and the quality of the incoming water, but in any case, Atoll cartridges should be replaced at least once every six months;
  • The service life of the membrane is up to 2 years, the period of operation directly depends on the timely replacement of prefilters;
  • Reverse osmosis filters need to be changed at least once a year.

Only by observing such maintenance of the system can a high degree of cleaning and performance be obtained.

The reverse osmosis filter is placed last in the filter chain and provides the final purification of water from the most subtle contaminants. Cartridge filter elements carry out preliminary and final phase processing. For basic cleaning, a membrane with microscopic through holes is used. Suffice it to say about the effectiveness of the membrane that it allows water molecules to pass through, but retains bacteria and viruses, and, of course, larger contaminants. At the outlet of the osmotic filter, you get absolutely pure drinking water.

Depending on the model, there may be a different number of cartridge filter elements and membranes. The most common reverse osmosis filters contain 3-4 cartridge elements and one membrane. The model without storage tank can have 2 or 3 membranes. Cartridge elements provide pre-treatment of water to protect the membrane from damage by solid particles and deposits.

The design of the reverse osmosis filter is quite simple and allows not only the independent replacement of cartridges and membranes, but also the installation of the product. At correct connection and operation, the reverse osmosis filter does not require frequent maintenance. However, over time, the efficiency of any filter decreases and it becomes necessary to carry out work to clean it.

Membrane fouling - back side her high efficiency. Particles of contaminants separated from water linger on the surface of the membrane, clogging microscopic holes. For effective work Water treatment systems require periodic cleaning or replacement of reverse osmosis filters.

To reduce the degree of membrane fouling, it is recommended to use pre-treatment filters. In the Atoll A-560 five-stage filter, there are three cartridge filter elements in front of the membrane, which sequentially remove from the water: solid particles 15-30 microns in size, organic matter and chlorine compounds, particles with a diameter of 1-5 microns. Pre-cleaning prolongs the life of the membrane and increases its mechanical integrity. Atoll filters are replaced by specialists of the unified service department of BIIKS. The replacement kit includes a membrane and four cartridge elements. The filter cartridges are changed with a frequency of 1 time in half a year / year, the membrane - 1 time in two years. Another filter element replacement schedule is possible.

To restore the filtering properties of the membrane, washing with clean water under pressure, as well as acid or alkaline reagents, is used. The choice of reagent depends not only on the type of membrane, but also on the nature of the contamination. Acidic reagents are used to remove inorganic mineral deposits, alkaline reagents are used to remove organic contaminants and oils. Before carrying out cleaning procedures using acidic reagents, it is necessary to ensure that the filter parts and materials are resistant to the corrosive effects of the acidic environment.

With rare use of cleaning equipment, colonies of bacteria that have settled on the wet surface of the membrane actively develop and can impair its performance by blocking the holes. Disinfection of the reverse osmosis filter is carried out using alkaline reagents. As a cleaning method, circulating washing or holding the membrane in solution is used. In addition to microbiological contamination, the holes in the membrane can be clogged with ultrafine colloidal suspensions.

The installation, replacement and cleaning of the osmotic filter will be carried out quickly and efficiently by the specialists of the unified service department of the BIIKS company. To ensure long-term and efficient operation of the water treatment system, conclude a maintenance contract.
