How to make slime with your own hands. How to make slime at home quickly and easily? The simplest recipes and rules for storing toys. From shampoo without glue

Slime, or lizun - an anti-stress toy, which is a plastic, well-stretched, at the same time sticky and retains its unity mass. It is pleasant to crumple it in hands, children (and adults) like to play with it. Slime was originally invented and released by Mattel back in 1976. Since then, the word "slime" has become a household word, other companies began to produce such toys, and after the slime (in Russia it is also called a slime), craftsmen began to make it at home. Moreover, as it turned out, making a slime with your own hands is quite simple.

Today, slime recipes, including handmade ones, are a great many. Crafters sell them on Etsy, some DIY YouTube channels are all about slime making... different recipes, are also different: more liquid or dense, airy or close to jelly. Dyes, sequins, and so on are added to slimes - this way they turn out to be also interesting and diverse in appearance.

We have collected for you some simple recipes for making different slimes / slimes at home. All recipes are with videos: it's easier to understand how to make slime.

But first, let's clarify a question that is important for making a slime / slime according to classic recipe.

What kind of glue is suitable for slime / slime?

In fact, in order to make a plastic, soft, well-stretching and non-sticky mass, two ingredients are enough: glue (often take PVA) and a thickener (the easiest way is to take a solution in sodium tetraborate glycerin, it is sold in pharmacies and is inexpensive ).

In fact, it may turn out that not every PVA glue is suitable for making slime. The craftsmen have compiled a list of brands and types of PVA glue that are suitable for making slime. We present it for you:

1). PVA glue "Joiner Moment" (preferably white);

2). PVA Berlingo;

3). PVA Brauberg;

4). PVA Erich Krauser;

5). PVA "Contact";

6). PVA Novohim;

7). PVA Attomex;

8). PVA "Omega";

9). PVA "Ray red";

eleven). PVA Kores;

12). PVA "Cone";

13). PVA "Every day";

14). PVA Andex;

15). PVA Stick Up;

16). PVA "365 days";

17). PVA Elmers;

18). PVA-K19;

19). PVA VGT;

20). PVA "Lakra";

21). PVA Deli;

22). PVA "Titan";

24). PVA White House.

Also, transparent stationery glue is suitable for making a slime. PVA slime usually comes out opaque, but the opposite is true with stationery glue (unless you add some other ingredients to give color).

Slime / slime: a classic recipe

You will need:

Suitable PVA glue;

sodium tetraborate;

Dye optional.

Work sequence:

Pour glue into the container. Optionally, you can add a drop of dye, mix (if your experience in making slime is the first, you can try to make slime without dye). Next, add sodium tetraborate little by little and mix until the mixture reaches the desired consistency.

This video clearly shows how to make slime according to the classic recipe and how the addition of dye affects the consistency of the slime (and also what will happen if you take the wrong glue):

The slime is airy, voluminous and lush.

You will need:

Silicate glue - about 90 ml (3 small bubbles);

Dye (for example, liquid food) - about a drop (optional);

Toothpaste - about a teaspoon;

Shaving gel - about 2 teaspoons;

A solution in glycerin of sodium tetraborate (sold in pharmacies) - about a teaspoon;

Work sequence:

In a clean container, add the ingredients one at a time in the order in which they appear in the list above, mixing well each time. Add sodium tetraborate last, and it is better not immediately, but little by little, stirring each time. You will realize that this substance is enough when your slime begins to peel off the walls of the dish. Finally, remove the slime from the bowl and knead well with your hands, like dough.

Transparent slime / slime

Usually a transparent slime is made from transparent silicate glue. If you want the slime to be more liquid, at the first stage, the glue must be further diluted with water. But you can not dilute it - the slime will turn out to be more elastic, as in the above version. In this example, borax is used as a thickener, this is the same sodium tetraborate, but in dry form, it must be diluted with water before work (1 tablespoon of powder per 50 ml of water). You can also use a ready-made solution of sodium tetraborate.

You will need:

silicate glue;

Sodium tetraborate solution;

- container and spoon / stick for mixing;

Optionally - small sequins (it is precisely medium-sized sequins that are needed, otherwise it will not be very convenient to play with the slime, its structure will be disturbed) and a dye.

Work sequence:

Pour glue into the container. If you need liquid slime, add water and mix. Add sodium tetraborate, mix. Add little by little until the mixture reaches the desired consistency. Mix in a bowl and then with your hands. Now you can add the dye by mixing it into the slime. Then the slime must be returned to the container and, sprinkled with sequins and covered with a lid, left for 2-3 days. During this time, all air bubbles will come out of the slime, and it will become perfectly transparent.

Two Easy Slime / Slime Recipes Without Pharmaceutical Ingredients

If you don’t feel like going to the pharmacy, but you have shower gel and starch or children’s air plasticine on hand, you can make slime according to one of the simple recipes.

Easy Recipe 1: Shampoo Starch Slime / Slime

The slime turns out to be quite dense and elastic, matte, velvety, pleasant to the touch. It's good to make something out of it. This slime is not very durable: the starch hardens and the slime dries out, losing elasticity - even in a sealed container.

You will need:

Shower gel, liquid soap, shampoo (one of your choice) - about 1 tablespoon;

Dye (for example, acrylic paint) - a drop;

Starch (any) - about 2-3 tablespoons;

- container and spoon for mixing.

Work sequence:

Pour the shampoo into the container, add, if necessary, dye, mix. Start adding starch and mix. Add starch and mix until you get the right consistency. If there is a lot of starch, it does not matter, add more shampoo. It is necessary to knead the slime well so that it stops sticking to the walls of the dish, and then knead it with your hands.

Easy Recipe 2: Slime / Slime from Shampoo and Air Playdough

Unlike the previous one, this slime is more durable. If it is stored in a closed container or film, it almost does not dry out and retains its properties for a long time.

Air plasticine looks like this.

You will need:

Shampoo, shower gel, liquid soap - 1.5-2 teaspoons;

Airy (aka light) plasticine (sold in toy stores, etc.) - 1 sachet.

Work sequence:

Air plasticine itself is very plastic, but when mixed with shampoo, it acquires new properties. It can be smeared over the surface and then easily collected, stretched, wrinkled, and so on. So, flatten the plasticine into a cake, add a little gel / shampoo to the middle and mix right in your hands. Add the gel little by little until the slime has the right consistency.

Both recipes are clearly shown in the video:

Water in the manufacture of slimes is used to give the mass volume, to make it more tender. Too thick glue is diluted with liquid so that it “grabs” from the activator, but does not turn the toy into a piece of rubber. It is also diluted with sodium tetraborate, soda and other stabilizers. In all cases, ordinary tap water is suitable, in some recipes hot water is needed.

Surely you have seen or even purchased such an unusual jelly “bad” for your child. It can still stretch and stretch, take any shape and not stick to your hands.

In the common people, this toy is called a “lizun”, but in fact (where it came from - from the States) its name is in English “handgum” (handgum). It is not difficult to guess - "hand" (hand), and "gum" (chewing gum).

And today you can often hear - how to make Slime at home with your own hands? What is slime and what is it for? From English "Slime" is a children's toy made of jelly-like material, pleasant to the touch, able to stretch and assemble back to its original state.

Again, the same slime in a simple way! Slimers can make such a sticky jelly out of any material with their own hands and improvised means (although for some you still have to go to a store or pharmacy).

And now let's start making a slime at home - we will make a slime like in a store or even better.

How to make slime (slime) at home without sodium tetraborate

There are several simple ways or recipes for making boron-free slime (sodium tetraborate) at home. It's safe for your kids!

The easiest way - from water and starch without glue at all

All we need is starch and water. Mix both ingredients together in equal proportions or 2 parts water and 3 parts starch. And we get our homemade slime. For a firmer consistency, you need to add more starch. And in order for it to become bright - a dye.

You need to understand that such a toy will not be quite the one that we often see. But still, the kids will be happy. And use only warm water.

Slime made from starch and PVA glue

In this case, we need PVA glue and the freshest one is better. Separately, mix water and starch, then add dye (you can use sparkles with essential oils). Mix thoroughly without lumps. Lastly, pour in the glue. For convenience, use a bag instead of a container.

Ingredients: PVA glue - 50 mg., Water - 100 mg., Starch (you can soda) - 1 tablespoon, dye ("brilliant green", gouache, food coloring).

The same can be done with baking soda used in the kitchen. That is, instead of starch with water, mix soda.

From shampoo and glue "Titan"

This time we take high-quality, not expired glue "Titan". You can find it at any hardware store.

Take a bag and pour two parts of shampoo (absolutely any) and three parts of glue into it. It is worth shaking a little until completely mixed and thickened, and the slime is ready. To make the toy look more beautiful, pour a little dye and glitter into the shampoo before glue.

How to make a slime (slime) at home - a store option

To make a slime at home, as in a store, we need an additional (main) ingredient - sodium tetraborate (both a liquid solution and a dry powder are suitable).

Essential elements:

  • PVA glue - 100 grams,
  • 1 vial of sodium tetraborate (4%) or if the dry version - mix 1 tablespoon of the powder with half a glass of water,
  • dye for color option.

- Instead of tetraborate, you can use Borax powder, which is available for free purchase in pharmacies.

Manufacturing:

  • take a suitable container and pour glue into it (than more glue, the larger the toy),
  • carefully add the dye (do not overdo it, otherwise the slime will get dirty), mix until smooth,
  • slowly pour in the boron solution (so that the slime does not stick to your hands and is not liquid, you can add borax more than it should be), mix thoroughly and we get a jelly mass,
  • then to remove excess moisture it’s worth getting wet with a napkin (and for the future, when the child plays, it’s best to put the handgam on paper - this way less lint and debris stick to it)
  • and the last - put the resulting clot in a bag and crumple for 3-5 minutes, and now it's time to play with it.
  • When making, do not use cold liquid (water or shampoo),
  • Try not to put it on products with pile (including cats and dogs),
  • Homemade slime, although safe, is not recommended to eat and put in your mouth,
  • To make it smell delicious, mix it with essential oils,
  • The sparkles inside the slime look very nice,
  • Choose a new adhesive base, and not lying somewhere on a shelf,
  • Store in a closed container and in a cool place
  • But even if the homemade slime is a little dry, place it in warm water.

And another DIY slime recipe - It's just a bomb!

Shaving foam slime - aqua

  • Pour 125 mg glue into a separate container. A prerequisite is that it must be thick and of good quality.
  • Add some emerald acrylic paint. Stir and get a thick dark mass.
  • It's time to lighten it - add shaving foam, a lot of foam. Gently mix the foam with the colored mass. Reminds me of ice cream or sweet cream.
  • Pour some water into a jar and 15 grams boric acid and a couple of drops of hand soap.
  • Stir with a wooden stick and the thickener is ready. Pour the mixture into the colored foam and stir again.
  • It turns out real slime with your own hands.

Well, now, while we were typesetting this article, someone tested and made a slime at home with maximum performance.

The best and correct slime made by hand

  • Pour, again, as in the previous one, thick transparent glue - 125 milligrams.
  • Add hot pink acrylic paint. Stir until a uniform color.
  • Add a little bit of contact lens fluid and mix. In total, we poured about 10 grams.
  • Pour half a teaspoon or a large pinch of soda. As you knead, the mass begins to thicken and stretch. Great, she's completely behind the walls.
  • Next, knead with your hands until it stops sticking to your palms.
  • It turned out a cool soft and elastic slime. It does not stick, does not tear and stretches perfectly. It's great to play with him and you don't even want to let go of it. Reminds me of a huge pink chewing gum.

Probably one of the best recipes we've tried. Stretches into a thin film. You can blow bubbles out of it - that's how elastic it is.

  5. After the time has elapsed, take it out and knead it with your hands - play with it.

For any slime, get a box with a lid - so it will last longer.

  • fine salt - 3 table. l.
  1. Pour the soap into a separate bowl and sprinkle in the salt evenly, stirring constantly. 5 minutes is probably enough.

A simple recipe: homemade glue stick slime - video

That's it, stop looking, girls and boys, it's time to start manufacturing, so that everything turns out Cool and with a bang!

Slime, which is also called a slime (from the English slime - “slime”), we got its name from the character in the movie “Ghostbusters”. In the painting, he looked like a slimy green creature with two skinny arms, several chins, and no legs.

slime homemade V Lately became a subject of self-expression for teenagers, and for some, a way. For example, a sixteen-year-old girl from Canada became famous as a homemade slime superstar.

What is this thing made of?

Chemically, the slime consists of molecules of a polymer substance (such as glue) that form threads like spaghetti. They are connected to each other by the addition of a kind of sodium tetraborate sauce - borax. This provides the slime with properties such as elasticity in response to a blow and softness in response to finger pressure.

Slime is made differently. Most recipes include sodium tetraborate, which is about 2% How Products Are Made slime. Its second component is PVA glue (polyvininyl acetate aqueous emulsion). often like component Slime indicates shaving foam. The desired color is given by adding food coloring. The bulk of the slime is purified or distilled.

On the Internet, they offer to make slime using substances of natural origin:

  • Guar gum (locust bean gum), which is obtained from the beans of the Cyamopsis tetraganoloba plant.
  • Methylcellulose, which is mainly obtained from wood. It is an activated plant polymer Methylcellulose plant fiber fibers, it is in toothpaste.
  • Corn starch.
  • Gelatin.

Wow. And could it be dangerous?

Yes. News appeared in the media 9-year-old girl made slime at home and got severe skin disease that a nine-year-old Israeli woman, after playing with a homemade slime, the recipe of which she found on the Internet, had inflamed skin on her palms. The girl needed long-term treatment.

Here are the components of the slime that can cause harm.

PVA glue

Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) is considered a non-toxic low-hazard compound. He has bad smell, which is drowned out by flavorings. This smell signals that the substance emits volatile particles. In this case, these are glue solvents and polyvinyl, which are not dangerous in small concentrations.

In passport Material safety data sheet The safety of PVA glue from one of the manufacturers says that you need to work with it with adequate ventilation, in goggles and rubber gloves. It is impossible for the glue to get into the eyes, and if it gets in and washing with water does not help, you need to contact an ophthalmologist.

The package must be labeled "Keep out of reach of children". If the adhesive enters the body - by swallowing or inhaling drops - it is hazardous to health.

In addition, glue cannot be drained into the sewer - it kills aquatic organisms.

Borax, or sodium tetraborate

Borax is a salt of boric acid. It is sold abroad as a disinfectant. Also, borax is found in solutions for processing and storing contact lenses.

Solution containing 20 g of sodium tetraborate in 80 g of glycerin Sodium tetraborate solution in glycerin used in medicine as a treatment for candidiasis (a disease caused by Candida fungi). When using it, you may experience allergic reactions, burning, redness. It is contraindicated in children, pregnant and lactating women, as well as with skin lesions.

In the registry National Institute US occupational safety and health card Sodium tetraborate this stuff is scary.

Routes of entry into the body The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, by ingestion and through broken skin
Inhalation risk Evaporation at 20 °C is negligible, but a harmful concentration of particles in the air can be quickly reached by dispersion (formation of fine droplets or dust in the air), especially if powder is used
Influence of short-term exposure The substance is irritating to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract, may cause effects on the central nervous system, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract when ingested, at high dose, or through broken skin
Influence of long-term or repeated exposure Repeated or prolonged skin contact may cause dermatitis. The substance may cause effects on the respiratory tract.

Therefore, the contact of the child with concentrated solutions, especially with pure borax, should be excluded. Ingestion of borax - by ingestion or inhalation - is life-threatening.

natural ingredients

Starch, gelatin and cellulose are a breeding ground for mold fungi that can settle in a toy. Over time, the slime can become a source of them, and playing with it can lead to skin infections. Microbes can cause disturbances in the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract when a particle is swallowed or if it enters the mouth from the skin of the hands.

What should be remembered so that the toy does not cause harm?

  1. Prolonged contact of the slime with the skin can be dangerous - it cannot be the only and permanent leisure option.
  2. Do not give slime to children who put everything in their mouths or like to lick their hands. Usually all kids and some preschoolers are prone to this.
  3. Control all stages of slime creation and then make sure it is playable. Lizuna from natural ingredients store in, and if mold, plaque or bad smell- throw away.
  4. If there are abrasions or other damage on the skin of the hands, you cannot take the slime in your hands.
  5. The child should not come into contact with pure borax and its concentrated solutions.
  6. Prepare slime only in a well-ventilated area.
  7. Protect your eyes with goggles. Wear gloves while working with PVA glue and solutions.
  8. Recipes that are published on the Web are not tested by regulatory authorities. You are responsible for the safety of your children, if they are used.
