Placement of fire safety signs

Description of the placement and application of the most common fire safety signs.

1. Signs "Exit", "Emergency exit", "Emergency exit", t ablo "Exit":

These signs should be posted at all emergency exits and, where necessary, along the escape route to indicate the direction to the next exit.

Placed directly above the openings of evacuation or emergency exits. The "Exit" board is used as a part of the installation for alerting people about a fire.

2. Direction to the emergency exit:

Where it is not possible to see an emergency exit sign directly within sight, there should be exit direction signs to assist in the direction of the exit. Maximum distance between escape route signs should be 5 m.

Placed on the walls of the premises to indicate the direction of movement to the emergency exit, at eye level.

Direction signs can be wall-mounted or hung to provide accurate heading information.

3. "Fire extinguisher" sign:

The sign is posted at the locations of fire extinguishers, for example:

On stands for fire extinguishers;

On cabinets for fire extinguishers;

Above a fire extinguisher placed on a bracket or in a stand.

In rooms saturated with any equipment that obscuresfire extinguishers, additional indicators of their location should be installed. They mustbe located in visible places at a height of 2.0 - 2.5 m from floor leveltaking into account the conditions of their visibility.
