HSE correspondence department. HSE niu - national research university higher school of economics

The Higher School of Economics is a university that trains economists, sociologists, managers and lawyers and is actively involved in international research activities. They teach philosophy, mathematics, literary history, journalism, psychology, sociology and even design. Leaders of Russian scientific schools, brilliant teachers, who are interesting and promising to learn from, have gathered under the roof of this modern authoritative university.

Features of the educational process:

During your Bachelor's studies, you can study more than 30 different disciplines. Their set depends on the content of a specific educational program and the choice of the student himself. Curricula are drawn up in such a way that the student studied no more than five disciplines at the same time (excluding foreign languages and physical education). In the first and second year, the classroom load and independent work make up approximately equal shares. In the third and fourth year, the student is offered more independent work.

The academic year is not divided into semesters, but into modules. There are 4 modules in a year - thus, the duration of the module approximately corresponds to the school quarter. Each module is followed by a week of session, during which, depending on the working curriculum, control and examinations may or may not be conducted - in the latter case, this week turns into an unofficial vacation.

HSE is more than 100 student organizations, thousands of events and its own student government. The student life of the university almost defies description: it is too dynamic, diverse and different for everyone. The only way to know it is to become a part of it.

History

Creation

The idea of creating the Higher School of Economics - a European-style economic school - was born at the turn of 1980-1990, when it became clear that the existing system of planned economic education in the country did not meet the requirements of the new political and economic situation. Then a group of teachers of the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University - Evgeny Yasin, Yaroslav Kuzminov, Revold Entov, Oleg Ananin, Rustem Nureyev - after several attempts to introduce the foundations of market economic theory into the curricula of existing universities realized the need to build a new economic school, which from the very beginning would be based on the principles world economic science... This meant providing students with tools for analyzing and predicting real processes, teaching them how to work with statistics and economic models, and giving them a common language with the world community of professional economists.

The first real attempt to create HSE can be considered alternative departments of economic theory, organized at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (1989-1990) and at the physics and history faculties of Moscow State University (1990-1991). Students could choose between courses taught by young professors and former graduates of the economics department and Marxist-Leninist political economy. Many of those who later formed the backbone of the SU-HSE graduated from these departments. The methodology of teaching economic theory in a country with an economy in transition was also worked out there. The start of a new business was facilitated by the support of the Soros Foundation, which provided a one-year grant in 1989.

early years

The start-up period was marked by intensive "teacher training": Revold Entov read the entire team of teachers - mostly former employees of academic institutions and Moscow State University - a course on key problems of economic theory, and Grigory Kantorovich updated their knowledge of mathematics. Since 1993, HSE teachers have regularly trained at leading European universities, primarily at the University of Rotterdam, whose Faculty of Economics - the largest in Europe - was a partner in the creation of the HSE University under a European Union grant.

From the very first day of its existence, the principle of SU-HSE has been a combination of strict, even brutal preparation with the discussion and solution of pressing problems of the Russian economy. Leading economists who worked in the government became HSE professors: Evgeny Yasin, Alexander Shokhin, Leonid Vasiliev, Yakov Urinson, Vladimir Kossov, Evgeny Gavrilenkov, Mikhail Kopeikin, as well as scientists who came to SU-HSE from institutes of the Academy of Sciences and other research centers, as well as well as from Moscow State University: Lev Lyubimov, Igor Lipsits, Rustem Nureyev, Oleg Ananin, Leonid Grebnev.
