As a child, he grazed geese and received no education. But Saint Tryphon Even as a child, he received the gift of miracles from the Lord: he cast out demons, healed ailments and by his prayer did many other good deeds. Once the inhabitants of their native village Saint Tryphon were saved by him from hunger: by the power of his childish prayer, the saint forced to leave the harmful insects that were destroying the crops. On the basis of this miracle, a special order was established in the Church. prayer appeal To Saint Tryphon, which occurs when pests attack crops or plantations. Special Saint Tryphon became famous the expulsion of a demon from the daughter of the Roman emperor Gordian (238-244). A demon possessed a young, intelligent and beautiful Princess and severely tormented her. One day he shouted that only Tryphon can banish his. The emperor ordered to find the miracle worker and take him to Rome. At that time Saint Tryphon was 16 years old. When the saint approached Rome at a distance of three days' journey, the evil spirit could not bear his approach and left the daughter of Gordian. Saint Tryphon led to the emperor, surrounded by the court nobility. He begged the saint to show the demon with his own eyes, wanting to make sure that the young man had really healed the princess. After solitary prayer to God and strict fasting for six days, Saint Tryphon ordered the unclean spirit to appear visibly to the emperor and his entourage. In the Chetikh-Menaion of St. Demetrius of Rostov (+ 1709), this is described as follows: “ Saint Tryphon filled with this Holy Spirit, and look with smart hair at the invisible spirit, speak: I say to you, unclean soul, in the Name of my Lord Jesus Christ, appear evidently to those here, and show them your stingy and cold-hearted image, and your weakness. And abie the devil appeared before everyone in the form of a black dog, having eyes like fiery, his head drawn on the earth ... ". To the question Saint Tryphon how he dared to dwell in the creation of God, the demon replied that over Christians he does not have such power, and can only torment those "who follow their desires and do things that are pleasing to us." Hearing this, many of those present left idolatry and believed in Christ. Generously gifted by the emperor, Saint Tryphon returned to his homeland. He distributed all the gifts he received along the way to the poor. When the emperor Decius (249-251), a cruel persecutor of Christians, ascended the royal throne, it was reported to his bishop Aquilinus that Saint Tryphon boldly preaches Christianity and leads many to Baptism. Hearing that the king's servants were looking for him, Saint Tryphon did not hide, but gave himself over to the persecutors. Brought to trial before Aquilinus in Nicaea, he boldly confessed his faith in Christ. Aquiline could not intimidate young Tryphon no threats. Then the diocese gave orders to bind the holy martyr's hands, hang him on a tree and beat him for three hours. During the beating, the torturer did not hear a single groan of the martyr. After that Saint Tryphon was thrown into prison... After a while, Aquilinus once again used threats and persuasion, and then, seeing the failure of his efforts, subjected the martyr to new tortures. Direct my steps, O Lord, according to Thy word, and let all iniquity not possess me" (Psalm 16: 5; 118 , 133). He often repeated the words of the first martyr, the holy archdeacon Stephen: "Lord, do not charge them with this sin" (Acts 7, 60). The Lord strengthened His chosen one, and he courageously endured all the tortures. During the torture, an Angel appeared before the saint with a precious crown in his hands. Seeing this, the tormentors were frightened, but Aquilinus became even more bitter. The next day, he continued the torture, after which he sentenced Martyr Tryphon to beheading with a sword. Before his death, the saint thanked God, who strengthened him in suffering. The Ancient Life conveys the following words of the holy martyr to God: “... Accept my soul in the world; them from Thy Holy Dwelling, giving them abundant and incorruptible gifts, as if you were One Good and a Generous Giver for ever and ever ”. The saint departed to the Lord before his honest head was cut off. The Christians wanted to bury the body of the martyr in the city of Nicaea - the place of his suffering. Prayer to the holy martyr Tryphon

O holy martyr of Christ Tryphon, an early helper and to all who come running to you and pray before your holy image, a hasty representative! Hear now and for every hour the prayer of us, unworthy of your servants, who honor your holy memory in this all-honorable temple, and intercede for us before the Lord in every place. Thou, the servitor of Christ, shining in great miracles, exude celibacy to those flowing to you with faith and those who exist in sorrow, intercede, you yourself promised to pray for us to the Lord before your departure from this corruptible life and asked Him for this gift: whoever in any need, sorrow and illness of the soul or body, invoke the holy your name so that he will be delivered from every mischief. Wake us then a helper and a quick exorcist of evil spirits, and a leader to the Kingdom of Heaven. O holy martyr of Christ Tryphon, hear now and for every hour the prayer of us, servant of God (names), and intercede for us before the Lord.

The Holy Martyr Tryphon was born in one of the regions of Asia Minor - Phrygia, not far from the city of Apameia in the village of Kampsada. From a young age, the Lord gave him the power to cast out demons and heal various diseases.
Once the inhabitants of his native village were saved by him from hunger: Saint Tryphon, by the power of his prayer, forced to leave the harmful insects that devoured cereals and devastated the fields. Saint Tryphon was especially famous for his exorcism from the daughter of the Roman emperor Gordian (238 - 244).
Helping all those in need, he demanded only one payment - faith in Jesus Christ, by whose grace he healed them.

When the emperor Decius (249 - 251), a cruel persecutor of Christians, ascended the royal throne, Eparch Aquilinus was informed that Saint Tryphon boldly preached faith in Christ and led many to Baptism.
The saint was arrested and brought in for interrogation, during which he fearlessly confessed his faith. He was subjected to cruel torture: they beat him with sticks, tormented his body with iron hooks, burned his wounds with fire, and took him around the city, hammering iron nails into his feet. Saint Tryphon bravely endured all the tortures, without uttering a single groan.
Finally, he was sentenced to beheading with a sword. Before his execution, the holy martyr prayed, thanking God, who strengthened him in suffering, and asked the Lord for special grace to those who would call on his name for help.
Before the soldiers raised the sword over the head of the holy martyr, he gave his soul into the hands of God. This event took place in the city of Nicaea in 250. The Christians wrapped the holy body of the martyr in clean cloths and wanted to be buried in the city of Nicea, in which he suffered, but Saint Tryphon, in a vision, commanded that his body be transferred to his homeland, to the village of Kampsadu. This was done. Subsequently, the relics of Saint Tryphon were transferred to Constantinople, and then to Rome.
The holy martyr also enjoys great veneration in the Russian Orthodox Church. There is a legend that in Russia under Tsar Ivan the Terrible during the royal hunt flew away the tsar's beloved gyrfalcon. The tsar ordered the falconer Trifon Patrikeev to find the bird that had flown away. Falconer Trifon traveled around the surrounding forests, but to no avail.
On the third day, tired of a long search, he stopped near Moscow, in a place now called Maryina Roscha, and in exhaustion lay down to rest, earnestly praying before this to his patron saint, the Martyr Tryphon, asking him for help.
In a dream, he saw a young man on a white horse holding a royal gyrfalcon in his hand, and this young man said: "Take the missing bird, go with God to the king and do not grieve about anything."
Waking up, the falconer really saw a gyrfalcon on a pine tree nearby. He immediately took him to the king and told about the miraculous help he received from the holy martyr Tryphon. After a while, at the place where the saint had appeared, the falconer Trifon Patrikeev built a chapel, and then a church in the name of the holy martyr Tryphon.

O holy martyr of Christ Tryphon, hear now and for every hour the prayer of us, servant of God (names), and intercede for us before the Lord. You once were the daughter of a tsar, in the city of Rome I tortured you from the devil, you healed: save us from his fierce intrigues throughout all the days of our life, especially on the day of our last gasp, intercede for us. Pray the Lord, may the partakers grant us to be inherent joy and joy, and with you we will be worthy of praising the Father and the Son and the Holy Comforter Spirit forever and ever.

I learned about the martyr Tryphon unexpectedly.

In the distant 90s, when there were troubles at work and enemies, I literally crawled into the Donskoy Monastery to pray. And there she met the elder, hieromonk Daniel (Sarychev). He unhurriedly led the service, unhurriedly walked through the small church of the monastery and censed. He prayed on his knees with tears in his eyes before the miraculous Donskoy.

After the service, I ventured to ask the elder to pray for me. She described the situation and heard the answer: “Pray to the martyr Tryphon. It protects against enemies. And to Daniel of Moscow. " Arriving home, I began to look in the book "All the churches of Moscow" and found a church where there is an icon with particles of the relics of this saint. And she went there.

Later I heard the story of Father Daniel from the pulpit. He talked about how he was looking for work as a young man. After serving the prayer martyr. Trifon, he returned home. Imagine his surprise when he saw on his desk an envelope with an invitation to a vacancy. True, then he decided to go to study.

These stories are very inspiring. Now I try to appeal to this saint more often. And he is very quick to help, he hears quickly. How joyful in my soul from his miracles!

In Moscow, on Trifonovskaya Street, there is a small temple, old, white stone, in honor of the martyr. Once it was large, but after the revolution, two of its side-chapels were blown up. The main one - this very old white-stone temple - was defended. And here, after a long break, the divine services resumed. Although even now they are held only on Saturdays and Sundays, the martyr Tryphon always hears those who come to him, who turn to him with prayer. The clerics of the temple say that St. Trifon helps to find a job, to solve the housing problem. And also - to find the lost. Moreover, many cases of such help of the saint to people have been recorded.

Contemporaries' stories.

- Today, through the prayer of St. a miracle happened to the martyr Tryphon - hopelessly lost documents were found. Found in a place where they could not be at all logically. Many important cases depended on finding documents. This is not the first time when, through the prayers of this particular saint, something not found is found, and therefore I testify with joy and repeat: "Rejoice, Tryphon, quick helper to all who flow to you with faith and love!"

- We heard from Orthodox people about help in finding employment for Saint Tryphon, but they never turned to the holy martyr.
My husband decided to change jobs, not even knowing where he could go to work. I found in the prayer book a prayer to St. Tryphon and asked to help my husband. On the same day, our friend called and offered my husband a pretty decent job, where he now works.
To be honest, we didn't expect such quick help! This is another miracle revealed by God through His holy saints!

Veronica:

- The martyr Tryphon helped us when my son, nursing baby, had colic. He shouted so terribly that we all quarreled at home, and in despair I began to read him an akathist. That evening my son did not cry for the first time, and the next, too, and the colic went away ... Someone will say - a coincidence, but I know what it was.

- In our church there was a grandmother, whose daughter had a very difficult situation with the apartment. My grandmother began to order prayers for this saint, to travel to churches where there are his icons. Soon the daughter ... was given an apartment on the street. Trifonovskaya !!!
I also heard in Tomsk from a priest that their cow was lost ... She came straight out of the bushes when the akathist was read to the martyr Tryphon!

Found new job last year in two weeks. My spiritual father served for me a prayer service to the martyr Tryphon.

- I prayed to St. Trifon - passed quickly, literally in minutes!

- I also have something to thank St. Martyr Tryphon!
By the way, the day of his memory - February 14 - falls just on “Valentine's Day”. Once the priest in the church told us: St. Tryphon accepted such a heavy martyr's death for Christ, and on this day we rejoice, rejoice and celebrate Valentine. Since then, I began to relate differently to February 14.

Pavel, Anna:

“The Holy Martyr Tryphon helped me and our family. We are very grateful to him. In difficult situations, I go to the church on Trifonovskaya Street in Naprudnaya Sloboda.

- I would like to tell you about a miracle that recently happened in my family.
We were urgently going to the dacha. In the confusion, during the rearrangement of furniture in the apartment, they lost the keys. There are no spare ones in the village. Everything seems to have been searched. Already you need to go to the train in half an hour, but there are no keys. We decided to stay with relatives. And then I decided to read the akathist to the martyr Tryphon. At the 13th kontakion, my mother entered my room, jingling the keys. They were in a woman's purse, lying at the bottom of a huge sack with empty packages, located somewhere on the balcony ... I thank St. Tryphon for finding the loss!

- I'll write about the miracle with my cat. The cat was lost, and he was gone for 2.5 months. Already all the waiting times have passed, we mentally buried the cat. But St. Martyr Tryphon did not shame my hopes in him and returned my beloved safe and sound. I read somewhere that St. martyr Tryphon is prayed in this way - with confidence in his help and with love. And then he always helps.

- I want to tell you about one case that happened to me in Serbia.
I took a taxi to the mountain monastery of Sapochany (by taxi, because the day before I walked 30 kilometers in the mountains in search of another monastery, and there I lost all my strength ...) When the driver drove me back to the city, I was looking at something in my cell phone. And then I put it in my jacket pocket. We reached the central square of the city, where the driver dropped me off, and I went for a walk around the city. When, after half an hour, I decided to see what time it was, I realized that I no longer had a phone. I searched everything but did not find it. I ran back to the central square, praying to St. Tryphon, so that my cell phone could somehow be found (although how could it be found ?? There are a lot of taxi drivers, mine - it is not known in which direction I left. And it’s not a fact that I lost my cell in a taxi, but I don’t have one pulled it out of my pocket, for example ...) I run to the square, to the taxi drivers' parking lot. I start there to tell the first taxi driver I meet that I have lost my cell phone.
- To Sapochany? Did they take you to Sapochany? He asks in Serbian.
Yes, it's me !!! Do you know where the taxi driver who drove me?
And it started spinning. The drivers began to call somewhere, discuss among themselves, there were about 10 of them, probably. As a result, they found my taxi, and the driver is already coming out of it and smiles slyly. Shows his cell phone (mine), says, "and I found it between the seat and the door, he fell over ..."
It was joy! While traveling, I really needed my cell phone, and in general, there are all contacts and other information ... That's how I miraculously St. Trifon helped me regain my cell phone!

Natalia:
- By prayer to the martyr. Trifon found my dog ... It has now become a pet, and when they gave it to us, it was adult and wild. Once I ran away for a walk in the park. In the dark I was looking for her everywhere, calling ... When I remembered about St. Tryphon and asked him for help, my dog came out of the bushes. It was great miracle, because it was already far from home.

Human life is not complete without unpleasant moments. Then everyone needs support. But it happens that close people are far away, there is no one to communicate with, share sorrow, ask for advice ... Then the believers seek consolation from the Lord: they go to the temple, begin to pray to the saints. Saint Tryphon enjoys special trust among the Orthodox. Who is this, how does it help?

Biography

Before asking for help, you need to find out about how the earthly life saint. Saint Tryphon was born and suffered in the 3rd century... He was born in 232, in the small village of Kompsada in Phrygia. Parents from an early age instilled in him the Christian faith. Already in adolescence, he received the gift of working miracles - he cured diseases, could cast out demons. Once a misfortune happened in the village. Insects attacked the fields and destroyed the crops. The young man began to pray, the pests left the fields and hunger was avoided.

The saint spent his whole life in labor - doing any work that was necessary. According to the life, Tryphon was mainly engaged in grazing geese. For a believer, it is not so important what exactly he does, the main thing is to do it honestly, to show others a positive example.

Unfortunately, the martyr lived a very short earthly life, the main attention in the life is drawn to the circumstances of his spiritual exploit.

Healing the royal daughter

Emperor Gordian, having ascended the throne, did not torture the followers of Christ, although he himself did not believe in Him. His beautiful daughter fell into the devil's net, the demon tormented her continuously. The Lord allowed this to happen in order to then reveal His glory. No one could help the unfortunate girl, but then the devil himself declared that only a certain young man named Tryphon could drive him out. Then he was in his native village, doing his usual job - grazing geese.

The king immediately sent for him. The demon left the girl three days before the young man (he was then 17) entered the city gates. Gordian received warmly young man, but wanted to see with his own eyes the demon that was sitting in the girl. After intense fasting and prayer, Tryphon received great spiritual power, so he was able to order the demon to appear. The young man began to talk with the unclean and he said that he can enter only into those who do not believe in Christ. Many that day were shocked by what they saw and were baptized.

The emperor let the young man go home without harming him, as he was very impressed with the way he commanded evil spirits... But soon Decius ascended the throne, who hated Christians.

Martyrdom

The cruel emperor ordered to ensure that all who believed in Christ were punished. Followers of the new faith were forced to make sacrifices to pagan deities, if they refused, they were deprived of life.

The new governor of the Roman government learned that a certain young man, whose prayer has healing power, inclines many to Christianity. He ordered to take Tryphon to him in Nicaea. The young man did not want to hide and even happily followed to the fatal meeting.

Why was he not afraid? Because the highest blessing that a Christian can ask of Jesus is to give his own life for faith, just as the Savior gave his own for all people. A brave young man spoke about this, standing before the high court. This behavior greatly angered the governor, he ordered to subject Tryphon to cruel torture. They hung him up from a tree and began to torture him. However, not a single complaint was heard by the executioners..

Various torments continued for many days. They beat the martyr and tied him to a horse. But Tryphon only praised the Lord, singing psalms, praying for his offenders. To end the torment, he was asked to do only one thing - to make a sacrifice to Zeus and bow to the portrait of the king. But the saint did not agree, he called the pagan gods false, and called upon the exarch to accept the true faith.

  • During the torment, a miraculous phenomenon followed - an angel descended from heaven and laid a wreath on the sufferer's head. This meant that he received grace and a sure reward from the Lord. How cruel was the ruler, who even then could remain immune to true faith!
  • Then it was decided to behead the confessor. This did not frighten the sufferer at all, he only continued to offer prayers to God. Courageous behavior of Tryphon well described in, which was drawn up after his death. Before the truncation, the young man did not at all regret that he had lived such a short life, because he was about 20 years old (scientists cannot determine more precisely). The prayers of the righteous were for the tormentors, whom he desired salvation, asked for mercy for their sins.
  • After the execution, the body was taken by local Christians. They had a vision that the burial would take place in Kampaad. Over time, the relics of the martyr were brought to Rome.

What is so special about the fate of a young man who lived on the territory of modern Turkey almost 2 thousand years ago? It is not for nothing that he is revered in Russia. Church tradition has preserved a history that took place during the reign of Ivan the Terrible.

The king loved to hunt, once his favorite gyrfalcon flew away. This greatly upset the ruler, who was known for his cruel disposition. His falconer, who was in charge of the birds, was named Tryphon. The king ordered him to find the bird in as soon as possible on pain of death.

Several days passed in fruitless searches, at last the tired man prayed to his heavenly patron, because he could lose not only his job, but also his life itself. Then the falconer fell asleep. And here Saint Tryphon himself appeared to him- he rode astride a horse, holding a runaway bird in his hand. “Take it and do not be sad,” said the young man. The falconer woke up and saw a gyrfalcon on a nearby tree. He immediately went to the king and returned the pet, he also told about the miracle.

A grateful man at the very place where he saw the martyr, erected a chapel, then a temple. Here was miraculous icon St. Tryphon. Unfortunately, the church building was destroyed, but pilgrims still come here to ask for help. After all, as the life of the saint says, before his death he asked the Lord to help everyone who would keep a prayer memory about him.

A miraculous copy of the saint's image is kept in (Moscow) today. What can you ask for in front of her? Not just about getting a job... The martyr helps in the most difficult life situations... As a rule, believers love to read the akathist - this is a beautiful solemn narration in verse. Usually the plot is the earthly life of the saint. Akathists have not only spiritual meaning, but also carry in themselves useful information who teaches in faith.

Iconography

Byzantine iconography is somewhat different from Russian. Obviously, this is connected with the given legend. Earlier oriental icons of the saint depict him in full growth, with a cross in one hand, a blossoming branch in the other. The young man is dressed in a red cloak, which symbolizes a martyr's death.

In Russia, the images are different:

  • the clothes are rough, like that of shepherds;
  • bare feet;
  • in his left hand - a scroll, a symbol of the enlightenment of the pagans;
  • on the right hand a falcon is sitting (reminder of a miracle near Moscow).

Sometimes Russian icon painters depict a pretty young man with curly hair riding a horse. It can also be a belt image.

The famous miraculous icons also contain small particles of the relics of the great saint of God. One is now in Naprudny, another in the temple " Unexpected joy" (Marina Grove). But it doesn't matter which icon a Christian offers his prayers to - even clippings from magazines begin to stream myrrh from true believers. First of all, the power of hope with which an appeal to the heavenly intercessor is made is important.

Trifonov day

Interesting that church celebration the memory of the martyr falls on the same day as the day of St. Valentine. This dubious "holiday" is actively imposed on the Russians, even in schools and kindergartens. But he is an invention of merchants... St. Valentine really was, but he did not marry anyone - in those days this sacrament was not yet performed! Therefore, in last years the Christian community is trying to replace it with a more decent Trifonov day.

For many centuries, February 14 has been a day of folk festivities among the eastern and southern Slavic peoples. Serbs and Bulgarians have a rich tradition of celebration, because this day in their climate is associated with the imminent arrival of spring.

In Russia, the martyr Tryphon is the patron saint of hunters, in Bulgaria - winegrowers.

IN Orthodox calendar On February 14, the imminent onset of the Meeting is also celebrated (in the church way - the forefeast).

It is interesting that the Slavs prayed to the Martyr Tryphon as the patron saint of the family hearth. He was "responsible" for the peace between husband and wife, helped to drive from the soul. The girls prayed to him to find a worthy bridegroom.

In times of economic instability, people it is important to have confidence in the future. Today it depends on having a permanent job. Finding her can be very difficult. Then the Orthodox read a prayer to Saint Tryphon for help in finding a well-paid job.

During his lifetime, the martyr never calmly passed someone else's misfortune, and now he always responds to the calls of the believers. Prayers before the icon of St. Tryphon help:

  • To find a job;
  • get a raise;
  • avoid reduction;
  • find lost property;
  • find your own home.

Also, the saint will help you perform your duties well..

Testimonies of contemporaries

Wonderful help these days the heavenly intercessor continues to pour out generously on Christians. They are happy to testify of the miracles that happened to them.

  • The baby was tormented by colic, he screamed violently. His mother began to read him the akathist of St. Trifon, the child suddenly calmed down. The colic disappeared completely in a few days.
  • The daughter of one of the parishioners had a problem with the apartment. She began to visit all the churches where the icons of the martyr were. Very soon, the girl received housing.
  • There are many testimonies about how believers found missing keys, documents, escaped cattle after reading the akathist to the saint.

Work today for many is basic condition for survival. Otherwise, it is simply impossible to stay “afloat”. Perhaps this is the secret of the growing number of appeals to the martyr Tryphon. According to life, the saint has a kind, responsive heart. The testimonies of contemporaries indicate that he willingly responds to the sincere prayers of believers. But if the answer is delayed, one must continue the prayers with firm faith in the soul - after all, without it, such addresses lose all meaning.

According to Christian tradition, many canonized saints can be addressed with prayer to resolve issues related to their earthly affairs. Prayer before the icon of St. Tryphon will help in solving a number of problems. During his short life, this saint performed many good deeds that glorified the Lord.

Tryphon was born in 232 in Asia Minor, into a Christian family. Already with early childhood he showed the gift of miracles and healing, which Tryphon used for the benefit of people. So, when the fields in the vicinity of his native village were attacked by insects, which destroyed the crops and doomed the inhabitants to starvation, Tryphon expelled them by the power of his prayer, and as payment called on his fellow countrymen to accept the Christian faith.

The story is widely known of how 16-year-old Tryphon expelled demons from the daughter of the Roman emperor Gordian. At the request of the emperor to reveal the demon, he, at the behest of Tryphon, appeared before Caesar in the form of a black dog with fiery eyes and told about his power in the bodies of people overwhelmed by sinful passions. Many of those present at this miracle believed in the power of the Savior.

Soon after the coming to power of the next emperor, Decius Trajan, a new mass persecution of Christians began. Tryphon, who became famous for many miracles and attracted many people to the True Faith, was arrested and tortured so that he would abandon his faith in Christ, but he remained faithful to the Savior. In the end, Tryphon was executed.

Miracle of St. Tryphon in Russia

In Russia, the miracle of Tryphon with a falcon gained great popularity. Once the falconer of Ivan the Terrible missed the beloved falcon of the sovereign, and the angry tsar gave him three days to search, after which he promised to execute him if he did not find the falcon. The falconer turned to St. Tryphon with desperate prayer, and in a dream he appeared to him with a falcon sitting on his hand. Waking up, the falconer found a bird that flew to him on its own. In gratitude for the deliverance from the royal wrath, the falconer built a temple in honor of St. Martyr Tryphon. Traditionally, the icon of the Martyr Tryphon depicts the saint with a falcon in his hand.

Description of the icon

Usually on the icon, the holy Martyr Tryphon appears in the form of a beautiful youth with a falcon on one hand and with a cross in the other, which is typical of Byzantine icon painting. The icon can be either half-length or full-length; often in Russian icons the saint is depicted on a horse.

In many churches in Moscow there is an icon of Tryphon. In honor of St. Tryphon in Moscow, two churches were erected: on Rizhskaya and in Naprudny, where the miraculous icon of the holy Martyr Tryphon is located.

How does the icon of St. Tryphon help?

In accordance with the miracles shown to the saint during his lifetime, its significance is great - the peasants in the old days prayed to him to save crops from locusts and other harmful insects. They pray to him in other difficult everyday situations:

  • in case of loss of money, documents, keys and other necessary things;
  • to protect against dark forces, magic and intrigues of ill-wishers;
  • for healing from various ailments;
  • when looking for a job, etc.

Mindful of the story of the falcon, people in prayer ask for help in finding the lost.

But you can lose not only money or things, but also something intangible - love and harmony in the family, and prayer to the icon of Tryphon helps to regain them.

Generally to St. Trifon is approached with many requests, including when looking for his chosen one and about a successful marriage.

Particularly effective is the prayer to the icon of St. Tryphon for good luck in work, and this applies to everything related to work, from looking for it to moving up the career ladder.

Tryphon did not face such problems: he worked all his life and was not afraid of any, even the most difficult work. The saint patronizes:

  • for those who want to have decent job with decent pay:
  • those who cannot choose a profession for themselves in any way;
  • those who are just starting their own business;
  • those who want to get a promotion;
  • those who have lost their jobs and cannot find a new one in any way;
  • those who have conflicts with their superiors or in the team.

To this list you can add those who have problems with the sale or purchase of real estate.

But even hoping for help after prayer in those matters in which the icon of Tryphon helps, you cannot sit idly by - you need to actively act, and Saint Tryphon will support your efforts.

Prayer to the Icon

Blessed Lord God, nothing is impossible for you! You created the world and gave man a command to work! You Yourself said in Your holy commandment about the Sabbath: "Work six days and do all your works, and the seventh day, Saturday, to the Lord your God."

I believe your words and really want to fulfill your command: "Work for six days!" But, merciful Lord, I cannot find the job I would like to have. I know that You have nothing shortage!

And in fulfillment of Your commandment "Work six days!", Send me work according to Your Holy will, so that I have (a) worthy wages and consolation in fulfilling it, and I promise after six days of labor to sanctify and observe especially carefully the sanctity of Sunday , dedicate him to worship You, good deeds and glorification of Your holy name!

Oh, Lord, may it be not mine, but Your holy will! Help me find a job in the very near future, because I have no source of income. And open my eyes to see Your will! Blessed be your kingdom!

I ask you, Lord, to help me fulfill Your instruction: “Work with your with my own hands"You said," I will bless the work of Thy hands, "and I will not" borrow. " Oh, Lord, accept my prayer, as it is written: "Bless, Lord, his strength, and in the work of his hands, please." Blessed be the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and forever and ever. Amen!

Talking about the holy martyr Tryphon, first of all, they always remember the first healing that he performed while still a very young man, and this fact is even reflected in the prayer of the martyr. Tryphon.

This is a classic example of the expulsion of an unclean spirit that has taken possession of a person - in this case, the daughter of the Emperor Gordian. No one could help the princess - neither magicians nor sorcerers - and she suffered severely.

One fine day the demon cried out that only a simple shepherd Tryphon could drive him out. Of course, the imperial messengers urgently found a healer, and the power of his prayer forced the demon in the guise of a disgusting black dog to leave the girl.

However, the young man was glorified not only by the gift of healings and the expulsion of unclean spirits. Through his prayers, fellow villagers were saved from hunger: Tryphon cleared the fields devastated by harmful gluttonous insects, from their invasion. He did not take payment for his labors - he asked only to believe in Jesus Christ, by whose grace he did good deeds.

For the unshakable confession of Christ's faith and especially for its spread during the years of persecution against Christians, the young man was seized by the pagans. He was not seduced by the generous promises of the tyrant ruler, nor was he frightened by his threats.

Then Tryphon was subjected to the most severe tortures, but not a single groan escaped from his chest - the saint, like Christ, prayed for his tormentors. And when, during the torture, a flower wreath with precious stones, this infuriated the shamed tyrant even more, and he ordered the young man to be beheaded.

The memory of the holy Martyr Tryphon is celebrated on February 14. Unfortunately, this day is overshadowed by the celebration of Valentine's Day, dedicated to St. Valentin, who had nothing to do with Orthodoxy. It would be much more logical to honor Tryphon, who fulfilled an innumerable number of prayer requests to him.

Bow to the holy martyr

This event took place in the city of Nicaea, where local Christians wanted to bury the holy martyr. However, Tryphon appeared to one of them in a vision and discovered that he should be buried in his homeland, in the village of Kampsada, near the city of Apameia, which is why the definition “Apamea” is often added to his name. This wish was fulfilled, and all the past centuries were marked by many miracles performed by the martyr Tryphon.

Much later, the holy relics were found incorruptible and transferred to Constantinople, the capital Byzantine Empire and then to Rome. But every Orthodox country wanted to have at least a particle of the relics of the martyr. Tryphon. Therefore, the holy remains can be worshiped:

There are similar shrines in Moscow - this saint is very revered in Russia. At the beginning of the 19th century, three shrines from Montenegro were transferred to Moscow.

Russian silversmith Trifon Dobryakov made a shrine for particles of the relics of his heavenly patron and presented it to Emperor Alexander I, who brought the sacred gift to the Church of St. Martyr. Tryphon, built in his honor in Naprudny, where three reliquaries were “built” into the icon of the martyr. After the closure of the Holy Trifon Church in 1930, the icon was transferred to the church in honor of the Sign of the Most Holy Theotokos, not far from the Riga station.

After the church named after St. Tryphona was destroyed by three quarters; only a small, most ancient part of it was preserved. For half a century after the war, the temple was empty. Now divine services are held here, but only on weekends and great holidays.

There are also holy images, and also with particles of relics:

  • one is in Maryina Roshcha - in the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy";
  • the second - in the Church of the Nativity of Christ (Izmailovo);
  • part of the relics of the martyr Tryphon also belongs to the Holy Trinity Monastery of Kitaevsky (Kiev).

"Call on my name ..."

Just before the execution, the martyr Tryphon offered up prayerful thanksgiving to God because He strengthened his strength during the torture, and prayed for the grant of special grace: and after death to help those who will call on his name. And, judging by the number of requests fulfilled by the saints, this grace was bestowed on him. What can you ask St. Tryphon?

In addition to all of the above, the saint protects hunters and fishermen. And this is no accident.

There is such an old legend: either in the time of Ivan III, or Ivan IV, during the royal hunt, the Tsar's favorite gyrfalcon flew away in an unknown direction. Falconer Trifon Patrikeev received a formidable command to find the bird, otherwise the head is off the shoulders.

For three days he unsuccessfully combed the forest surroundings and, exhausted, prayed to his saint, whose name he was named, and fell asleep in the place that is now called Maryina Roshcha. In a dream, a young man appeared to him astride a white horse with a missing gyrfalcon in his hand. He calmed the falconer, they say, here is your bird, take it to the king.

Martyr icon. Waking up, Tryphon really saw the loss sitting on a nearby pine tree. He delivered the gyrfalcon to the king and told him about the help of St. Tryphon. Soon on this place, in honor of his miraculous salvation, the falconer first built a chapel, and then a church in the name of his patron saint.

There are many iconographic images of St. mch. Tryphon. In some, he is depicted with a bird sitting on his arm. This is the missing gyrfalcon.

How to order a prayer service

In many situations, you should not rely on the help of others - it is safer to turn to the Heavenly Forces.

Do not be afraid that your problem is too small, "frivolous", too mundane - after all, for the most part life consists of such, and St. During his lifetime, Tryphon assisted even in the smallest requests. After all, miraculous help comes primarily from faith in God's help through His saints.

For help in solving any of the described problems to the martyr Tryphon, you can order a prayer service, and mark in a note: “Prayer of the martyr. Tryphon about ... ".

In the note, you must list the names of the people for whom you will pray, in the genitive case and in the church sound: not Ivan, but John; not Svetlana, but Fotinia, etc.

There is no definite rule of who to enter in what order, but many list families, starting from the chapter. There is a recommendation to name first the names of men, then women, and at the end - children.

The age should be indicated before the names of the children: ml. - infant (up to seven years old), neg. - adolescent (up to 17 years old), uch. - student (if attending college or student).

The prayer service in the church will be performed by the priest after the Liturgy. You can also order a special prayer service with an akathist to the same saint. At home, it also does not hurt to read the akathist, as well as just pray daily:

Oh, holy Martyr Tryphon of Christ, an early helper to all who come running to you and pray before your holy image, a hasty representative! Hear now and for every hour the prayer of us, your unworthy servants, who honor your holy memory.

You yourself, a servitor of Christ, you yourself promised to pray for us to the Lord before your departure from this corruptible life and you asked Him for this gift: if anyone in any need and calls his sorrow begins your holy name, let him be delivered from every pretext is evil. And as if you sometimes healed the Tsarev's daughter in Rome from the city of the devil tortured by the city of the devil, save us from his fierce intrigues all the days of our life, especially on the terrible day of our last breath, intercede about us, when in darkness the ghosts of crafty demons surround and frighten us will start.

Then be our helper and quick exorcist of wicked demons, and the leader of the Kingdom of Heaven, where you now stand with the face of saints at the Throne of God, pray to the Lord, may he grant us partakers of the everlasting joy and joy, and with you we will be worthy of glorifying the Father and the Son and the Holy Comforter Spirit forever. Amen.

Desiring you to turn tongues away from the path of wickedness and open the true path leading to the Eternal Belly, this is the true faith, the Orthodox faith, even to Rome from the Compassada, bring the Lord the Lord, and in the palaces of the king's sermons God and I melt teach him many things: Alleluia ...

Although turn many on the path of salvation, let the Lord let the demon take possession of the king's daughter, and cruelly torment and plunge many parts into fire and water. Doctors have nothing to do with success and nothing more than the suffering of the Tsar's daughter to quench their power. But when the power of this world and all medical cunning leading to nothing and confessing his weakness, then by the command of God the devil uttered, as if there is only one, to drive him out, and behold, Tryphon.

Then I diligently seek and find it in the Compassad. But I am coming to him and I am still far from Rome, cry out with a great voice the devil, and come forth, and heal the maiden. Those who see this marvel at the verbs:

Rejoice, Tryphon, who has turned the devil into flight even farther away; Rejoice, for the devil is his powerlessness before you confession.

Rejoice, quick helper to those who pray to you; rejoice, healer of ailments by the power of God.

Rejoice, you who accept what doctors have left on your hands; Rejoice, changing sorrow for joy.

Rejoice, sending joy to the sad and the grieving.

Rejoice, Tryphon, quick helper to all who flow to you with faith and love.

Seeing faithfulness, like in Rome, a miracle, your former coming, was strengthened in your faith and praised God, who defeated the hellish serpent and gives those who believe in Him such power: Alleluia.

Seeking assurances, I will come to Rome, Saint Tryphon, that you are the one who fears the demon, pray to the Emperor Gordian, that you show him both his synclite, and the people in the sensual form of the devil, and you did not deny, but, having laid on him fasting, pray to the Lord for six days.

On the seventh day, who came to the king, the synclite and the people, you cried out: "I say to you, unclean soul, in the name of my Lord Jesus Christ, this semo appears and show your demonic image to those who exist, and your confession of powerlessness ...". And fast tacos. And in vain all the demonic disgrace and marvel at the faith of the holy, crying:

Rejoice, Tryphon, his demons cannot disobey; Rejoice, Tryphon, at his behest the dusi appear in bodily form.

Rejoice, Tryphon, who commanded the devil by the power of God to confess, as if Christians, like the holy Orthodox and apostolic faith, contain, have no power.

Rejoice, Tryphon, it was announced to him that the demons have power to torment only those who follow their sinful lusts and do deeds pleasing to the devil.

Rejoice, Tryphon, for you taught us how to run pagan wickedness.

Rejoice, Tryphon, for you teach everyone to run every sin, and fight in virtue.

Rejoice, teach us the Orthodox faith firmly; Rejoice, help those who want to live piously.

Rejoice, Tryphon, quick helper to all who flow to you with faith and love.

Seeing how a young child commands powerfully the spiritual malice of heaven, fearing me, and hearing from the demon and seeing with his own eyes, what power is to have the faith of Christ, turning to God: put aside your wickedness and other delusions, baptized and your lips from the heart are pure thanksgiving to God song: Alleluia.

Thank you, the king put into your hand, martyr, gifts and gold, but you, having acquired Christ God for nothing, imputed all things to you, even in this world, as good things are honored, and you accepted the gifts of the king, and serve your neighbors, and walked into your fatherland Kompsad, you gave everything to the poor, the sire and all those in need, constantly remembering, as if squandering earthly, perishable wealth, collecting imperishable, eternal wealth for yourself in Heaven. We, however, teach you to do the same, crying out to thee:

Rejoice, Tryphon, showing your soul that is foreign to the love of money; Rejoice, show the mercy of your soul.

Rejoice, you former feeder of the poor; Rejoice, showing compassion to the poor.

Rejoice, having fulfilled the commandment of Christ "Give to him who asks from you".

Rejoice, and teaching us to fulfill the commandments of God.

Rejoice, for you have comforted, encouraged, and joyous by your procession to Rome and your return to the Compassad.

Rejoice, having shown us the image of how to gather up unbroken wealth in Heaven with riches that perish on earth.

Rejoice, teaching us to serve us; Rejoice, you who instruct us to love our neighbors.

Rejoice, showing us the image of the life of the righteous, rejoice, as the rule of faith in God, hope in Him, love for Him and neighbors and other Christian virtues, show us yourself.

Rejoice, Tryphon, quick helper to all who flow to you with faith and love.

The wicked king Decius ascended the throne, and Christian blood was shed throughout the world. Rejoice, from the unbelievers for the preaching of Christ God to the torture;

Rejoice, not afraid of the impending torment.

By faith, I am a Christian, but Christ is my strength, and my strength, and my glory, and my joy. " Hear this confession of yours, we please thee, Saint Tryphon, sice:

Hearing your confession, I was filled with rage with wickedness and reproach with wounds and torment. But you, Martyr Tryphon, honoring the raising of suffering for Christ with joy, cried out a song to God: Alleluia.

Vetiya the much-talked Aquilinus, seeing that you were not afraid of the cruel reprimands, like a meek sheep, appearing, seeking to seduce you with affectionate words, but having nothing to do, turn your packs into a lutago wolf, aggravating your reprimands. Thou art firm and unshakable by the grace of God, raising up the faithful to shout to thee. Rejoice, thou didst not fear the cruel reprimands; Rejoice, you are not afraid of bodily death.

As if the light will be kindled with fire, so your soul, Saint Tryphon, is kindled with love for God who loved you, and, hearing the command of the hegemon, the hedgehog on you, you yourself put off your vestments and you gave your body in the hands of the tormentors, so that they will create everything, even commanded by the hegemon. ... Seeing such your jealousy for Bose, all faithful to the verbs:

As if the wall is solid and unshakable in the sight of thee wicked judge, both do not glorify God, who has given you this strength, but even more vain to bow down to you and flattery and fear of death, but offer a sacrifice to the demon. But you, holy martyr, having confessed in the ears of all the faith of Christ, you exposed the folly of the persecutors and showed you the wisdom of those who believe in Christ; And the hegemon, thinking of torment for you, ordered you to take it off the pillar and, tying it to your horse, draw along with you. We will strive to glorify your suffering:
