Checking the ventilation ducts in an apartment building is needed. Ventilation check. Cleaning the ventilation shaft in the apartment

The constant movement of air from the inlet to the exhaust is ventilation. Exhaust air intakes are located according to building codes in the service premises of the apartment, i.e. in the toilet, kitchen and bathroom. Across ventilation grates in these rooms, polluted air is removed from the living space of the house outside, into the atmosphere of the street.

The air of residential and non-residential rooms in an apartment is polluted every hour. Cooking food, bathing household members, washing clothes and going to the toilet, smoking - the daily activities of residents worsen the composition of the internal atmosphere. Volatile pollutants, moisture and odors, smoke and dust ... in the apartment only exhaust ventilation is able to cope with them. Of course, if the air exchange actually takes place.

Sweating windows from the inside, corners of rooms wet with condensation and black mold stains, crumbling whitewash and peeling wallpaper are signs of a lack of ventilation. Drying clothes for two days, smells from the kitchen and toilet, easily spreading through the house - ventilation in this house does not work.

It is easy to check the performance of the apartment ventilation; you only need a piece of paper (for example, toilet paper) the size of a palm. In the living room, anyone, slightly open the window or window, then, in turn, attach a piece of paper to the exhaust grilles of the toilet, kitchen and bathroom. The paper is "stuck" - the extractor is working. The leaf does not "stick" and falls, which means there is no ventilation.

There is a worse option - you apply paper, and it deviates into the room. This is a sign of reverse thrust, i.e. through the ventilation duct, "foreign" air is drawn from some lower apartment. Your household has to breathe dust and smells of someone else's house. And, of course, your ventilation system isn't working.

It is required to test the supply and exhaust ventilation for operability with a slightly open window or a vent. For air exchange to take place, the air must not only be drawn out, but also come from outside the apartment. Modern standards for window and door frames normalize their complete airtightness. And if there are no other sources of air supply (for example, through), then the hood will not be performed either.

Backdraft due to kitchen umbrella

So, you have installed double-glazed windows and a heat-insulated metal door at the entrance that are air-tight when the doors are closed. The apartment has at least two standard exhaust ducts - in the bathroom and in the kitchen. You have installed an exhaust hood above the stove, the duct from which is built into the standard house hood (wrong solution) or into a separate through hole through the wall (right solution).

In the shop kitchen appliances you were assured that the power of the cooker hood must correspond to the air volume of the kitchen (a wrong statement, by the way), otherwise it is ineffective. It is cold outside the windows, they are not opened. When cooking on the stove, you turn on the kitchen umbrella to eliminate fumes, steam and odors. For complete confidence in the purity of the home atmosphere, the hood above the stove is turned on at full power.

Insofar as supply air no (windows and front door are airtight), and ventilation unit the hood intensively pumps out air, a slightly lower air pressure is created in the kitchen than in other rooms. Where will new portions of air come from to compensate for the lack of pressure in the apartment atmosphere? Only from one available source - from the ventilation shaft, to which the bathroom hood is connected.

This is how reverse thrust in the house ventilation system. Your apartment will receive smells from the bathrooms on the lower floors, which is not good at all. There is only one way out: including cooker hood and having established the fact of reverse draft in the bathroom, it is necessary to open the sash of the window or the window leaf. Those. organize an air supply from the street, capable of compensating for the operation of the exhaust hood. There is no other way to fix the problem of reverse thrust in this situation.

Reverse draft in the hood due to the through-flow ventilation duct

In 9-14-level high-rise buildings, especially in single-entrance series I-209A and II-18, the following situation occurs: exhaust ventilation it is clean, its exit to the roof is not blocked by anything, but air in a reverse draft enters some apartments through the hood. This happens because of the common ventilation duct in several apartments located one above the other.

Each house ventilation duct, through which air is extracted from the apartment, according to ventilation standards, is muffled from above and below. Those. at the exit from the kitchen or bathroom, the ventilation duct goes horizontally for the first 130-150 mm, then goes into a vertical "pipe". There should not be any opening at the bottom immediately behind the ventilation grill, otherwise there is a high probability of back draft.

At the enterprise of concrete goods, where the structural elements of the above-mentioned high-rise buildings were cast, the ventilation shaft blocks were made in the format “ vertical pipe". It contains common channel, stretched along the entire length (width 220-240 mm), and on its sides there are narrow (width 130-150 mm) satellite channels. According to the standards, the apartments must be connected to the ventilation duct according to a staggered-run pattern:

  • first floor to the left satellite channel;
  • second floor - to the right channel;
  • the third is back to the left channel, etc.

The air from the first apartment enters the satellite channel, passes through it 2.5 m and picks up speed, then collides with a horizontal plug on the third floor and exits through the side window into the general (collection) ventilation shaft.

This scheme works if the plugs are installed by the builders. The problem of reverse thrust occurs because the builders did not put plugs in the satellite channels (they forgot, did not want to, were in a hurry to hand over the object, etc.).

The result of the carelessness of the builders - several apartments (or all) are connected by a common transit satellite channel. This is especially felt at the upper levels of a high-rise building. Through the ventilation ducts of the toilet, bathroom and kitchen, the "aromas" of the lower apartments penetrate into the apartments of the upper floors - the air drawn from them gains speed and blocks the local exhaust or enters the living quarters according to the principle of reverse draft.

The problem of odors and back draft through the ventilation is corrected by installing a plug into the cavity of the satellite ventilation duct. The ventilation inset into the apartment often has a square cross-section - you need to make a box of the appropriate size and insert it into the opening of the hood. Then the "lower" air flows in the satellite channel will be cut off from your apartment and will enter the common house air-exhaust shaft, as they should. And the exhaust duct will work for the first time to remove air from your apartment.

The ventilation hood on the top floor does not work

Rather, air extraction is ineffective, weak. This problem is common in many apartments. Its reason is the short length of the ventilation duct. For a full-fledged air exchange, it is required that the air passes at least two meters along the vertical ventilation duct. On the other (lower) levels of the high-rise building, this condition works, but there is no two-meter shaft above the opening of the ventilation grill of the upper floor - there is an attic 1-1.5 meters above it.

Since the second half of the 20th century, the ventilation shafts of high-rise buildings have been closed with horizontal duct boxes with subsequent integration into one ventilation duct raised above the roof. More modern solution- the openings of each ventilation shaft are brought to the attic level and remain open. The entire cavity of the attic floor serves as a ventilation chamber, above which several common exhaust shafts are mounted in the roof. Those. the latter are not directly connected to the vertical ducts of the house hoods.

In the variant with horizontal wiring ducts in the attic upstream air drawn from all downstream apartments collides with the upper wall ventilation duct... If the cross-section of the horizontal duct turns out to be insufficient for the rapid passage of the air mass further, an increased air pressure arises in it. In an effort to equalize the pressure, the air looks for the closest point of exit from the channel ventilation system- it is often the ventilation grilles in the bathroom and the kitchen of the upper floor, up to which no more than 600 mm.

If the channel is wide enough, but too narrow (box rectangular section), then reverse thrust will occur. The "odorous" air flow does not have time to pass at full speed into the lateral branch of the ventilation duct, is reflected back into the interfloor shaft and finds the nearest exit - the ventilation grill of the upper floor.

There are two ways to fix the problem: by replacing the attic ventilation box with a "higher" one, with the installation of air diffusers inside it; installation of a separate exhaust ventilation duct for the exhaust of the last floor. The first method can be performed only by professionals.

And the second way is quite feasible independently. It is necessary to separate the exhaust duct from the general air shaft by installing an airtight duct. Then take it to the attic as a vertical riser and leave it open. It is only important to insulate the body of the new duct so as not to change the temperature and humidity state of the attic atmosphere.

The problem of insufficient or overturned draft in the ventilation ducts of the last floors in residential buildings of the PZM, P-44 series, etc. arises from a very short vertical shaft channel (less than 350 mm). At the same time, ventilation is performed, but in an extremely weak volume - the extracted air does not have time to accelerate, as it happens in a two-meter vertical duct.

And if the doors are open in the attic, the draft will certainly overturn the draft, dumping the exhaust products from the apartments of the lower levels through the ventilation duct of the upper apartment. It is necessary to increase the vertical height of each ventilation box taken out from the premises of the last floor. It is required to put on the ventilation duct headbands protruding above the floor of the attic pipes of a similar diameter (usually 140 mm), raising them 1000 mm higher. Seal the joints carefully with mastic or alabaster. Do not forget to give the new pipes a slope in the direction of the common shaft of the interfloor hood - the fast flow will pick up air from your apartment and improve its draft.

Why the natural ventilation of the apartment no longer works

Your apartment used to have natural ventilation, now it is gone. You are ready to blame the neighbors or the community of tenants who closed something there in the ventilation shaft. This, of course, happens - many homeowners do not understand that the air can move somewhere and therefore nothing outsiders can not be pushed into the house ventilation duct.

But the main source of ventilation problems is the most common apartment owners, including you. Imagine the usual design of a house ventilation system in a high-rise building: a prefabricated shaft and satellite channels pouring air into it from all apartment hoods, taken away by ventilation grilles; warm attic, where the entire volume of extracted air enters and from where it is discharged to the street.

If the source of the river suddenly runs out, the river will dry up. The same is with the ventilation system. multi-storey building... Ventilation complex for everyone vertical row apartments is closed system working in hot and cold weather. The supply and exhaust openings in each apartment serve the general purpose of ventilation, depending on their efficiency.

Of course, the condition of the ventilation ducts of one apartment and the presence or absence of supply air in it do not particularly affect common work natural ventilation of apartments at the entrance. But if the planned design of the exhaust and inflow at several residential levels is changed, then the efficiency of the air supply will significantly decrease. Let's see how this happens.

Elimination of the ventilation shaft
... Some apartment owners do not like the communication well behind the bathroom wall. What nonsense, they think, to occupy almost a square of space under sewer pipe, as well as supplying cold and hot water risers. Why not let them out along the wall, allotting no more than 0.4 m 2 of the territory!

But, firstly, every bend in the communication pipeline prevents the free passage of transportation products, which increases the risks of water hammer. Secondly, the shaft with pipes performs a double task, at the same time serving as a ventilation duct, collecting and extracting exhaust air from the bathrooms of all the lower and upper apartments of the entrance. If the pipes of the risers can be bent and pressed against the wall, then this cannot be done with the ventilation duct - in fact, it will be eliminated on this floor.

The owners of the apartments on the middle and upper levels of the entrance, of course, will not dare to remove the exhaust shaft behind the bathroom completely - all the "aromas" of the lower apartments will get into their house. But if the apartment is located on the first or second floor, the reconstruction of a communication well, according to the conviction of its owners, is worth the candle.

Installation of airtight window frames
... This article describes in detail about exhaust ventilation ducts and practically no sources of supply air are mentioned. But they, according to the plans of Soviet architects, should be the window frames of each apartment. Yes, those crevice, old and twisted window frames - they served as the source fresh air... And you have replaced this "nightmare" with airtight frames made of plastic, aluminum or wood with sealed double-glazed windows. And about the constant inflow street air did you care?

You will say that you can always ventilate the apartment by opening a window or sash. This is true, but the natural ventilation complex works with an exceptionally stable air supply. Those. its inflow should always be - day and night, on weekdays and weekends, in heat and cold. Are you ready to keep the window open all year round? Unlikely. Go out into the courtyard, look at the double-glazed windows of the apartments located above and below your apartments. Now you know why the hood in the kitchen does not pull.

Many apartment owners know in practice that replacing old window frames with plastic does not particularly affect the operation of the hood - it works and the air leaves. It's right. But where does the air come from, replacing the volumes pumped into the ventilation duct, if there are no cracks in the windows or in the walls? It's simple - "fresh" air enters the atmosphere of your apartment from neighbors through communicating ventilation channels, through cracks in the joints of the floor, ceiling and opening front door... Those. your household breathes the air that someone has already "breathed". Air containing the smells of other people's bathrooms, full of moisture after cooking and bathing your neighbors.

If you have blocked the air exchange through the window openings, having taken care of installing modern double-glazed windows, solve the issue of supply air. In fact, you have only one option - embedding in window frame or in front wall... Otherwise, there will be no natural ventilation in your apartment, and you will exchange air with your neighbors.

Apartment renovation

In accordance with accepted standards, any living space, including an apartment, must be equipped with a ventilation system, which is necessary to discharge polluted air and remove unwanted odors from non-residential rooms of an apartment - such as a toilet, bathroom, kitchen.

What is ventilation? In simple words it is air exchange, that is, the movement of air. Anyone during the day uses kitchen stove, visits the toilet, some smoke. All of these processes pollute the air and contribute to its oversaturation with moisture.

In the event that the ventilation system is functioning properly, then most likely you will not notice all this, otherwise it causes a number of unpleasant problems for those living in such an apartment - glass begins to sweat on the windows and condensate flows down onto the wall and window sill, the corners become damp, and mold builds up on the ceiling and walls.

How to check if the ventilation in your apartment is working?

You don't have to be a specialist to check the ventilation. You need to take a small fragment toilet paper... Then open a window in any room and bring the prepared piece of toilet paper to the ventilation grill in the toilet, kitchen or bathroom. If your leaf is easily attracted, this means that the ventilation is functioning normally.

If the leaf cannot stay on the grate and falls off, then the ventilation is not working properly. If the leaf is not only not attracted to the ventilation hole, but also, on the contrary, deviates from it, it means that in your apartment there is a "reverse draft" and extraneous odors are drawn towards you, that is, ventilation does not function. The same effect can be obtained by holding a burning lighter to the ventilation grill.

How to measure the performance of ventilation in your apartment?

The performance of ventilation, in addition to checking, can also be measured. Measure it with special device- anemometer. This device can show how fast the air passes through the ventilation duct. With the help of a calculation table, and anemometer readings, as well as the section of your ventilation hole, you get a figure that will show how much air (in cubic meters) per hour (m3 / h) passes through the ventilation hole.

In accordance with existing standards, a kitchen (with an electric stove), a bathroom and a toilet requires: 60, 25 and 25 m3 / h, respectively. To achieve such figures, a rather small speed of movement of the air flow through the ventilation hole is needed and such a movement can only be determined thin piece paper (preferably toilet paper).

There are apartments in which a sheet of thick, rather heavy paper can be attracted, which means that the ventilation system in this dwelling works very well, which even exceeds the standard norms.

Common causes of ventilation failure

In Russia, residential apartments are supply and exhaust ventilation, which has a natural motivation, in other words, not mechanical, not compulsory. Naturally, all air exchange rates were calculated just for such ventilation. And in order for the air to go into the ventilation hole, it needs to come from somewhere, and to enter the dwelling, in accordance with the norms, it is obliged through non-densities (cracks) in doors, windows and other structures.

At the end of the last century, new designs appeared in our state - metal doors having seals and plastic windows with sealed glass units. Of course, such products easily outperform old wooden windows with their endless drafts, but then another problem arose - despite the fact that new technologies had already arrived, but the norms remained the same and according to them, air into the room should enter through the cracks, and new designs do not exclude such density entirely.

As a result, with the help of sealed doors and windows, conditions are created in the dwelling that do not allow ventilation to work normally. What causes a lack of fresh air in the apartment. To somehow cope with such problems, people began to use forced kitchen hoods.

In addition, people living in houses on top floor, usually this information is enough to immediately determine the reason for the lack of good ventilation. The point is that for optimal performance ventilation system in the apartment, the air flow must pass vertically in the ventilation duct at least about two meters. On all floors, this is possible, except for the last one - the attic room will act as an obstacle here.

Ventilation performance in any room is very important and should be checked periodically. There are special ways to check the ventilation in the apartment. All this is necessary so that the air can circulate freely, removing pollution from the room.

Consequences of inoperative ventilation

Inoperative ventilation in your apartment can lead to very unpleasant consequences for it. This could be:

  • an increased percentage of humidity, due to which the apartment can become very damp;
  • stagnant unpleasant odors;
  • the appearance of mold and fungi;
  • destruction of walls due to the influence of fungus and mold;
  • the annual need to make repairs due to the influence of mold on the walls and the formation of large spots of it;
  • such stagnation of air can significantly affect your health (allergies, for example, or other diseases that are associated with the respiratory tract).

In order to avoid all this, it is necessary to have well-functioning ventilation.

Checking the ventilation

So, how to check the ventilation in the apartment, in what condition is it? There are several ways to do this.

Method one. Open a small window in any room and take a small piece of toilet paper. Why exactly a toilet? The fact is that certain norms have been developed according to which normal air circulation in an ordinary apartment should take place.

So, in the kitchen, this rate is 60 m3 / h, in the bathroom - 25 m3 / h, and in the toilet also 25 m3 / h. A piece of toilet paper is enough to check for these values.

To check, you should put paper on the ventilation grill, and if it sticks to it, then everything is in order, your ventilation is functioning. By the way, it is categorically impossible to use a burning match or candle for such purposes. There may be flammable gas in the ventilation duct, which can easily take out a piece of the wall and cause bodily harm. Gas appears in the ventilation due to various chemical household actions, for example, those who are fond of pyrotechnics or use drugs. An explosion is also possible in the event of a gas leak at the very moment when you decided to check the operation of the ventilation.

You can also check the ventilation duct with an instrument called an anemometer. It will show you how fast the air is moving in the mine. For this, there are special calculation tables, where it is necessary to enter the obtained values of the anemometer and the section of the grill where the ventilation was measured.

If you decide to check the ventilation in the kitchen, then according to the norms, as mentioned above, it should be at least 60 m3 / h. This is subject to the available in the kitchen electric stove... Such data of the device will allow the room to be well ventilated and not stagnate to various odors after cooking.

If you need to check the ventilation in the bathroom, then you should know that the air circulation there must be at least 25 m3 / h. This is necessary so that moisture does not stagnate in the room, and mold does not form. If the readings of the device are less than 25, but the hood is working properly, it is necessary to increase the air flow. For this, holes are usually drilled at the bottom of the door, or special grilles are installed. Well, if the hood does not work, then it must be cleaned.

In order to check the ventilation in the toilet, you also need to remember about the norm indicators. This air circulation is not less than 25 m3 / h. Such data will allow you to avoid the spread of various unnecessary odors around the apartment. If there is not enough air flow, then the actions are the same as for the bathroom.

Each ventilation hood should be checked, and if there is a problem with ventilation, then find out why.

What can affect ventilation performance?

In most cases, our apartments are equipped with a ventilation system, which implies natural ventilation... This refers to the old buildings of high-rise buildings, in which most of the inhabitants of cities live today. Such a ventilation system is cheaper and, accordingly, has been installed everywhere. Its essence lies in the presence of a common ventilation shaft, to which the channels of each apartment are connected. Air movement is carried out due to various slots and not hermetically closed shutters and doors (which was in Soviet time). What is the situation now and what can generally affect the operation of the ventilation duct?

  1. There are no cracks in the windows. Very many residents apartment buildings changed their old wooden windows on new, plastic ones. This led to the fact that the natural course of ventilation of the room was disrupted. This includes replacing doors with metal ones, with various heaters... For normal ventilation to take place, it is necessary to open the windows, which violates the warmth of the room (in the cold season). If this is not done, then it is quite possible that the room will become damp and mold will appear.
  2. Not enough good ventilation may be due to the overlap made during the renovation of another apartment, or a powerful exhaust hood available in the channel. The overlap, of course, should be removed, as well as the hood, since such a system does not imply such a power of air in the ventilation duct. It is also possible a banal clogging of the channel, in which case, if this is possible, then you can do the cleaning with your own hands, and if not, then call special services.
  3. Poor ventilation in summer when it is very hot is a very common problem. In this case, the laws of physics are to blame, since this method of ventilation assumes the presence of a temperature difference between the outside and inside the room. In summer, there is practically no such difference, so ventilation may deteriorate. It was assumed that in the summer, airing will take place through open windows... You can help a little in such a situation by systematically cleaning the ventilation, but it would be better to use forced ventilation in the summer months.

Cleaning the ventilation shaft

The most common reason for the lack of good ventilation is a clogged ventilation duct. It can be dust, small particles of debris, kitchen grease. All this can accumulate in ventilation shafts for a very long time.

You should also be aware that there are rules that prohibit access to central engineering systems those who are not part of the relevant service. Simply put, residents can only clean the ventilation duct near their apartment, and this should be done regularly.

Preventive cleaning consists of removing all ventilation grilles and rinsing them thoroughly. For washing the grates, it is allowed to use detergents, but only neutral, followed by thorough rinsing. But now, it is not very desirable to use them inside the channel. If dirty and greasy crusts have formed on the walls around the hole, then they are removed with a knife. Then the hole should be vacuum cleaned, and then wipe with a damp cloth that part of the channel where it is possible to do it. The work is completed, now you can close the ventilation duct with a grill.

But what if the ventilation duct is clogged? You should know that the most you can do is clean your area. To do this, you can use a flexible steel cable to which you can attach a regular brush. Such a structure should be pushed into the hole as far as possible and held back and forth several times. Then, using a vacuum cleaner, remove the remaining debris from the canal.

If such cleaning did not help, it means that the clogging is going on somewhere in the main shaft. Its cleaning in apartment buildings is the work of special services, residents are even forbidden to climb there. But still, if you decide to do this, then you will need a longer and stronger rod, as well as a ruff. Cleaning also occurs, but care should be taken, as insects or other animals can live in ventilation shafts (especially those that have not been cleaned for a long time). If they are a flock or swarm, then it can be dangerous.

Improving ventilation of living quarters

What can be done to improve ventilation? For example, when replacing windows, you should choose those that have a micro-ventilation function. If you have already installed windows, then you can purchase special ventilation valves or fittings that simulate the cracks in wooden windows.

Also a good solution would be to install additional ventilation, namely, supply and exhaust fan... Its installation improves the ventilation of only one room, and it can be installed on a window, ceiling and wall (choose only the appropriate view).

A complex installation of a supply and exhaust ventilation system is also possible, but it provides for a complete reconstruction of the apartment. Now you know how to check if your ventilation duct is working and how to clean the ventilation if necessary.

No one pays attention to ventilation if it functions properly. As a rule, exhaust vents are installed in the kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Air currents occur due to the difference in temperature inside the building and outside. In this case, an inflow of fresh air is required, which is necessary for ventilating the premises.

In the event of malfunctions, a ventilation check is required.

Kitchen

In this room, food is cooked and gas combustion products and specific odors constantly appear. If a malfunction occurs in the hood, they spread to all rooms and remain there for a long time. In addition, soot from the combustion of the gas will deposit on all surfaces. Most of it remains in the kitchen.

Bathroom

Violation of ventilation in the bathroom leads to an increase in humidity. At the same time, in the corners, on the walls and ceiling, appear dark spots mold, which is harmful to health.

High humidity is immediately felt by a person, in which case a ventilation check is necessary.

Toilet

When the hood in the toilet becomes clogged, being in it becomes unpleasant, and the smells from the bathrooms will spread through all the rooms of the apartment.

How to check for traction in a simple way

The ventilation is checked periodically as soon as dust appears on the grilles. To do this, they are removed and washed from dirt. After the grilles are installed back and the transom or window is slightly opened in the kitchen or in the room next to it. If the check is carried out in the bathroom or toilet, open doors to create an air flow. To check the efficiency of the extraction, a sheet of paper is attached to it. He must "pull" to her, which is a signal of the presence of cravings. The piece of toilet paper should be self-supporting on the grate. Alternatively, you can check the presence of thrust by deflecting the flame of a lighter or candle. The procedure is repeated in all areas. Cleaning the ventilation is required if the sheet is not attracted to the grate.

You need to know that in hot weather, the draft in the ventilation duct deteriorates and it is useless to check it. It depends on the difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures. In this case, forced ventilation is activated.

How to properly organize ventilation in an apartment

The lack of fresh air flow into the apartment can also be the reason for its poor circulation. This became especially noticeable with the replacement of windows with plastic ones, which are distinguished by their tightness. In this case, residents need to independently resolve this issue. Ventilation is improved as follows:

  • frequent ventilation of the premises;
  • micro-ventilation of plastic windows;
  • air conditioner installation;
  • the use of supply valves;
  • the use of forced-air forced ventilation.

The reason for the lack of traction can be the residents living upstairs, or when the system is overloaded from an enterprise built on the ground floor, for example, a store or cafe. Here, even a ventilation check is required, since extraneous odors appear in the apartment. In both cases, you need to contact the housing office for help.

Rules for cleaning ventilation ducts

Do-it-yourself cleaning of the ventilation is prohibited, since the mine is serviced by specialists from the management company on the roof or technical floors. She is usually approached with complaints of lack of cravings. When calling specialists, neighbors should be warned about this, since dust can crumble through the ventilation holes into the apartments when cleaning the mine.

When is it produced self check ventilation, it is only allowed to clean the channel leading from the apartment to the main shaft. To do this, you need to perform the following operations.

  1. Move furniture aside, cover the floor and close the wall in the work area.
  2. Remove, clean and replace the grille if necessary.
  3. Wearing gloves on your hands, carefully remove the debris from the ventilation duct and vacuum out the debris. It is better to remove debris with a tool such as a spatula so as not to get hurt by sharp fragments.
  4. Replace the grille and check for traction by opening the window.

Additional ventilation device

When the ventilation of the house is working properly, but there is not enough fresh air, the following measures are required to improve the microclimate.

  1. Plastic windows are airtight, but it is advisable to purchase window systems with micro-ventilation function.
  2. Fresh air can be supplied with valves, grilles, filters, air heaters and forced supply fans.
  3. Partially will help out the air conditioner, refreshing and drying air.
  4. Install

When choosing a way to ventilate the premises, you should determine its effectiveness and which devices are already working. The exhaust ventilation must be checked in advance and the need for installation must be identified additional equipment that improves the quality of her work.

No matter how efficiently the hood works, a supply of fresh air is needed. For this, valves are installed behind the batteries. The diameter of the holes facing the street is 6-10 cm. A plug is installed in them, which can be manually or automatically controlled. The incoming air can be cleaned using filter elements installed in the valves.

Ventilation is classified according to the following criteria:

  • forcibly or naturally air in rooms moves;
  • exhaust or supply type of device;
  • what kind of service is provided: local or general;
  • the presence of channels for air transmission;
  • type-setting or monoblock design.

The choice depends on the area and purpose of the premises, the amount of equipment and people in it, and the type of their activity. In all cases, natural extraction is preferred as it is the most economical option.

How ventilation systems are checked

Ventilation systems are subject to inspection, which can be emergency or routine. Checking their work is done using an anemometer. It is introduced into the ventilation duct, while ensuring the flow of air into the room.

In the branches of the mine, the air speed must be at least 3 m / s.

The measurement results must be recorded.

They are recorded by devices, and then a ventilation test report is drawn up. It should provide data on how efficiently the system is working and whether it complies with the design standards.

Conclusion

Checking ventilation in an apartment is a simple operation that must be done in order to maintain an optimal microclimate.

In case of violations in its work, you need to know what the owner of the home can do and in what cases he should contact the management company.
