Or someone who is not too lazy to go to the nearest copy center and print the desired drawing. This method will allow you to easily transfer the image to fabric or wooden surface.

You will need:
Acetone (or a nail polish remover based on it);
Cotton pads;
Plastic card;
Scotch;
Ruler;
T-shirt / fabric / wooden surface to which the drawing will be transferred;
Desired image.

Step 1: print the picture on laser printer v mirror version ... An inkjet printer is a poor helper in this matter. does not guarantee an even distribution of ink, which will be displayed on end result... The darker the original image, the better.

Step 2: lay down the sheet face down on a fabric or wood surface. It is advisable to fix it on one side with tape so that the picture "does not leave". Dampen a cotton ball or brush in acetone and wipe the back of the design thoroughly to keep the paper wet.

Step 3: take a plastic card and, using it like a scraper, go over the entire back side picture. It's like rubbing it. First from bottom to top, then from top to bottom, repeat several times. Do not press hard on the scraper so as not to tear the print. The main rule is that all this time the paper with the image should be wet from acetone... This will help the design grab onto the fabric or wood.

Step 4: gently pull off the edge of the sheet with the image and evaluate how the process of "printing" goes. When the drawing is completely transferred, remove the paper.

I translated an image printed on a conventional laser printer. In the future, I think to find jet printer for printing color images. In this case, do not forget to mirror the image horizontally. Well, I also made a small tonal correction in the light side.

The surface to which the image is transferred must be smooth. I used 120 grit sandpaper.

Main element technological process- gel medium. When I found a handicraft shop in my city and asked the seller to give me a gel medium, he asked me a question that baffled me: "What do you want?" "Well, of course, on the Internet it is written simply - gel medium. Let me translate the pictures." Then it was the seller's turn to be surprised. It turned out that the translation of pictures is just a side effect, which the seller had not heard of before, but in general the gel is used for different effects "under glass" and "with rhinestones". I chose a transparent glossy acrylic medium from a variety of gels. It turned out that I was not mistaken. The gel itself looks like sour cream. And in consistency, and in color, and the same opaque.

We glue the sheet with the image and drive out the bubbles with a roller.

The idea behind the method is that the top layer of paper that carries the image is glued into a medium ( liquid glass). After complete solidification (we left the blanks to dry overnight), you just need to remove the layer of paper. To do this, the paper is soaked and rolled with your fingers. I used the hard side of the dishwashing sponge. Here we must not overdo it and not damage the image itself. But this does not pose a particular problem, the image is quite persistent.

We have done a lot of paper removal experiments. The sponge showed itself with the best side... But when the paper was rolled with your fingers, a fine paper pile remained, which rose when the varnish was applied.

After removing the paper, only the printer ink is glued into the liquid glass. At the same time, after drying, the gel became transparent and the structure of the tree is clearly manifested.

I must say that the technology is quite effective. The whole process takes two evenings. The image is translated clearly, does not blur. One can of gel with a volume of 125 ml and a cost of 480 rubles was enough for 9 A4 sheets. The only inconvenience is that the image may be damaged when removing the paper.

It remains only to cut off the excess.

cover the surface of the photo with a continuous layer of glue;

leave to dry for a day;

start slowly and carefully to erase the paper with your own hands, or rather, with your fingers;

Method three - gel

After getting wet, the substrate is pulled out from under top film, leaving a juicy drawing in place.

For work, you will need a skin, white acrylic paint, a plate of water, cotton pads, paper napkins, brushes, a marker, patinated varnish.

Sand the surface;
Lightly thin the paint with water and apply the first layer, brushing along;
The second layer, respectively, with transverse strokes. Allow to dry;
Before transferring the picture to a tree, you need to lower it for half a minute in water at room temperature;
Take out, attach to the surface and pull out the base;
Remove excess moisture from the film with blotting movements;
Let it dry and mask the flaws with a marker.
Open with varnish.

STEP # 1- Make a mirror image

Open the photo you want to use in your editing program (almost any image viewer / browser will do) and apply the horizontal mirror filter. This is necessary so that the final image is the same as the original one.

Make sure your photo is at 300 DPI so that it can be printed in good quality... Pay attention to the size of the photo, it should be large enough to fit on the surface of your pile of wood.

STEP # 2- Laser printing

Print your mirrored, accurately measured 300 DPI photograph on a laser printer on fairly thin paper (such as 24 lb or 90 gsm paper).

The photo is best printed on thin paper because it will be easier in step 8 when you wash paper base.

Two copies of the photo can be made to provide insurance in case the hand flinches during the contour cut.

STEP # 3- Let's work with scissors

It's simple - carefully cut the image to the shape of your piece of wood.

STEP # 4- Spreading with glue

Cover the table with a newspaper to keep it from getting dirty.

Apply matte glue to the entire surface of the cut photo using one of the brushes.

Now very carefully place the photo face down on top of the piece of wood.

Then use a bone knife or hard cardboard with a straight edge to smooth out the photo and expel any air bubbles from underneath your photo.

Remove any glue that squeezed out from under the edges of the photo when you smoothed it out.

STEP # 6- Let dry

It should now take a while for your photos to dry for at least 8 hours.

Therefore, it is convenient to start making this gift in the evening in order to continue in the morning. Or vice versa, get up early in the morning to finish in the evening.

STEP # 7- Wet it well

After the photo has dried for 8 hours or so, it's time to wet it properly.

Place a towel first.

Then take a rag and dampen it with water.

Squeeze excess water out of a rag - you don't want to get wet - and place it on top of the photo.

Use a wet cloth to press down on the photo and make sure it is completely wet. Or just let the wet rag sit in the photo for a few minutes if you like.

STEP # 8- We remove unnecessary

First, it will take some time.

Now that the photo is wet, use a rag and / or your fingers to wipe off the backing paper and "release" your beautiful photo.

To age the photo, use a wet rag to wipe off the fibers of the paper. The rag's own fibers will also erase some of the photo that appears.
For a cleaner, cleaner look, use your fingers to rub off the grain of the paper.

Take breaks in the drying time to see any paper fibers that still need to be wiped off.

Experience has shown that the best condition to see and erase all fibers is when the photo is nearly dry.

For reference: Depending on the size of your photo, this step may take a while. It took about 30 minutes to remove the paper from our small oval board. Anyway, don't be in a rush with it, so as not to ruin your entire work.

6. Gently remove the paper from the board with warm water and a sponge. If the paper does not come off with a sponge, you can roll it up with your fingers without damaging the pattern. We remove absolutely all paper from the image.
7. When the image dries out from moisture, cover it with acrylic varnish.
8. We are waiting for the varnish to dry.
9. The image can be left as it is, or you can age it with acrylic paint. You can protamp the image different colors- in this case, one color is superimposed on another. To prevent the colors from mixing, intermediate drying is necessary. The protruding parts of the image are carefully processed with fine sandpaper.
